Fire Emblem's music has been excellent since the NES days, when Yuka Tsujiyoko gave the original Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light its sweeping orchestral identity. Even on limited hardware, tracks like "With Mila's Divine Protection" carried real emotional weight, and that bar never really dropped. The GBA era refined the sound, Awakening's score helped push the franchise into the mainstream, and Three Houses went fully orchestral. Now the upcoming Fortune's Weave; set in the same world and again scored by the *Three Houses* trio of Takeru Kanazaki, Hiroki Morishita, and Rei Kondoh; has already dropped a ten-track sampler on the Nintendo Music app ahead of release. Different composers cycle in, but the quality stays stubbornly high. HERE ARE SOME ICONIC TRACKS FROM THE FRANCHISE By 1454, Dagda has been reduced to ruins by the Demon God Balor's invasion. Sothis summons Eshmel, the Herald of the Pale Raven, who appeals to Fortuna, the goddess of fate, to send him five years back to 1449. He arrives just as the Heroic Games begin in Dagsion, a brutal tournament hosted by the Divine Sovereign Solel where winners are granted a single wish. Fighters have traveled from as far as Fódlan to compete. Eshmel's real purpose is to find four competitors known as the Flame Lords, who disappear during the demonic onslaught. He locates Cai, a village kid trying to free his imprisoned father. Queen Theodora wants the strength to rule her people well. Dietrich is a Fódlan swordsman hunting for a worthy opponent. Leda is a musician set on avenging her father's death. Helping them survive the Games earns Eshmel the allies he will need when Balor arrives. SOME OF THE CHARACTER THAT WILL DEFINE YOUR JOURNEY Not unlike Three Houses and its academic year structure, Fortune's Weave drops the classic chapter format in favor of tournament matches that require preparation during Free Time. Before each Main Battle, players explore Dagsion to shop, train, spectate other teams, or visit inns to share meals, rest, auto-level units, and build supports. Recruiting characters involves meeting requirements that shift depending on which lead character you control, including minimum Support and Renown levels, plus negotiations that may require finding items or finishing quests. The World Map outside the capital offers skirmishes, resources, towns, and dungeons that use a turn-based RPG combat system rather than traditional tactics. Free Time runs on a Turn Count where each turn equals six hours. Quests carry deadlines and events land on specific calendar days, so scheduling matters. Through the Pale Raven's Perch, you can swap between any of the four lead characters' simultaneous stories at any time, with each route's progress saved independently. Main Battles act as the core story stages inside the Grand Arena, where arena layouts mirror historical Dagda battles. Before each match, a stat card provides enemy insights and a turn limit to begin combat. The game offers two combat styles. Tactical battles replace the Weapon Triangle with distinct weapon mechanics: swords boost follow-up damage, spears are effective against cavalry, axes deal minimum damage but have reduced accuracy, bows hit fliers yet cannot counter at melee range, gauntlets raise evasion, and magic punishes low resistance. Dungeon combat shifts to a party-based RPG format with shared party HP. Parties can attack, use Combat Arts, or perform Link Attacks that consume LP.
