Rust

That was one of the best TV show episodes I've seen in the last 15 years. This includes The Wire, Sopranos, Breaking Bad, make your pick. Fucking flawless.

Harrelson's performance in the first half. Amazing.

MM in the 2nd. Rush is batshit inside.

And that camera work during the shootout. God fucking tier.

I knew it was going to be amazing once I saw Rust's go-kit.

Any time there's a go-kit on a show, you know i'ts about to get amazing.

Before I clicked the review I was thinking there is no way this episode doesn't get an A.

The sequence is blocked for maximum confusion, and its more terrifying in its incomprehensibleness than anything in the most recent seasons of The Walking Dead or American Horror Story.

I felt the same way. That's the reason I kind of fell off TWD. The show lost so much of it's sense of danger, which is pretty much the biggest part of TWD.

Sorry to go a little off topic there.

Hot damn. That was like what every heist movie wishes it was. And to the nay-sayers who said that Rust is clean, [preview spoilers]
clearly the detectives in 2012 suspect he has dirt he isn't sharing. At the least he is suspected of withholding evidence and at the most (and I'm speculating a lot here) he is a wanted on the new murder if not all of them.

I was on edge for the entire last 20 minutes. Every shot I thought something could go wrong.

And I know the guys make it and live for years, so that tension's not there. But what will they do to live? Oy.

Yeah that was an incredible hour of TV no doubt. I think we already knew this, but this is definitely shaping up to be one of the best thing on TV in recent years. And that's saying a lot, given the amount of incredible dramas that have been coming out in the last 10 years.

It will be interesting to see how the short season impacts the plot (how it wraps up), and how the show sustains itself given each season is a new cast/story.

That whole sequence from when Rust puts on that black jacket till the credits roll, nothing is remotely comparable. Amazing television. The tension was palpable.

Fukunaga's hollywood profile just shot up into the stratosphere with this episode.

Near the end when Rust is escorting Ginger out the building and Rust gets attacked by baseball bat dude and Ginger runs away ...Rust takes care of the baseball bat dude and pursues Ginger, but Ginger turns around and comes running back to Rust in confusion, who then punches him :D
