I'm not one of those people

awesome thanks. i doubt ill jump online anytime soon since im pretty average anyway hahaIt's always worth downloading if only for the significant updates to the gameplay.
You can also mod it and make it as wacky as you want it with texture hacks and model replacements. Add Poke floats, or put Boba Fett over Snake.
Just know that online play will have significant input lag if you use any setup that is not the GameCube controller, but Project M and Smash in general is best played locally, on the same TV.
It's not the same with online play since I doubt they'd add mic support for Smash or Mario Kart 8.
So then the question that must be asked is, what was I so ignorant about?

installation looks simple too

I just fail to see how sticking with the Gamecube controller (2001, not 1999 lol) is "behind the times" when it works perfectly for Smash Bros.

I like the design, but it needs a lot more white space (both inside the characters boxes and between the roster and the other elements).Decided to put together a more "realistic" conservative roster. Also took into account how it should fit on the screen (original file is 1080p). This isn't necessarily how I think the select screen will look, I literally pinched graphics off of the website.

No worries, I've just been sitting here chuckling to myself over the whole thing. I'll admit the post was based on those telling people to accept that the Wi U doesn't natively support GCN controllers and move on but I didn't suspect to get quite that response.forgive me
If only for the theme music. So, I just realized the one Square-enix rep that Smash Bros. needs and deserves.
This would be so great. Sooo great.I'm still hoping Nintendo releases a Gamecube controller for the Wii U at SSB4 Launch.
I think you completely misinterpreted BGBW's intention of the post he made (the one that was called out on being ignorant, that is) - which was in response to the statement "Smash isn't Smash without a GC controller".
In other news, I just noticed I'm in the top 3 posters currently. I should stop posting so much and go back to primary lurk mode.
I don't get people and cultic GameCube controller obsession everyone seems to have. I managed to switch to the Classic Controller without any impact on my ability, so I don't get the complaints. My only real complaint is the controller feels too small, but with the Wii U Pro Controller that shouldn't be a problem.
Well as I said previously when this topic came up, the big difference between 4 and Brawl is that they do not have the safety net of just relying on the GameCube controller so they'll be forced to make sure the game controls well with the GamePad and GamePad Pro. 3DS will require even more attention as it doesn't have the benefit of supporting multiple controllers, though I wonder if Sakurai will bother with the Circle Pad Pro.
I think it would be cool if you could use N64 controllers or Gamecube Controllers for Smash with some kind of USB adapter with four ports that directly connects to the console. I'd rather get something like that than have to buy more controllers for local play. :\

Ooh, seeing the unconfirmed characters in grayscale on your roster looks pretty good.I think I'm gonna use that for my roster now. ;P
I think that good sales can definitely affect the chances of some characters positively (like Wii Fit Trainer and Villager, for example), but I wouldn't say that bad sales would necessarily hurt the chances of a particular character if that character is a strong enough candidate.
It could be a coincidence, but with the exception of the two retro characters (Pit and R.O.B.), every Brawl newcomer appeared in at least one new game between 2001 and 2006.Reason why I asked because I checked all of the revealed characters. Other than Mega Man, their games have been released between Brawl and Announcement of SSB4. I wonder if some characters' chances would be increased because their game got released between Brawl and SSB4 Announcement, despite the fact they didn't sell well or not.
I've been playing Brawl on the Wii U with the Wii Classic Controller Pro, and it feels like a pretty decent alternative to the legendary GCN controller. I haven't tried out the Wii U Pro yet, but its stick placement makes me think that C-Stick Smashing will be both difficult and uncomfortable.
What I really like about SmashGAF is that a lot of us here seem to have pretty realistic expectations for the next Smash Bros. In other communities, it seems like most people have all sorts of crazy expectations or desires, lol.
so is project m worth installing if you only have a wiimote+nunchuck setup? dont have a gamecube controller atm and i kind of want a taste of melee gameplay

IntelliHeath do you still have that list of names of people asking for Neorice's sprite avatars as characters were confirmed?

Just wanted to take a second to talk about the Smash Community here. It's wonderful. We don't always agree on everything, but man, best place to talk about Smash. You have knowledgeable people here, as well as a varied casual view. Great balance.
Then we have awesome spritework from Neorice lacing the thread with each new announcement. Random Image Shops (Hypetrain gifs are gold). Well planned and executed threads from Heath. It's fun to post here.
Smash-GAF 4 lyfe.
Carry on.
I agree. SmashGAF is great. The balance of cool people with annoying ones is much more heavily tilted towards the cool side than in any other community I know that has Smash as topic.
SmashGaf is my favorite internet hangout. We have intelligent discussions, and even if we don't always get along, we still respect each other.

Squeenix owns Taito, and thus this series btw.

Probably doesn't count but Rob was in mario kart DS.
I'm trying my best to annoying you but I think I failed big time. Did I?![]()
Sure, I love that game but I can't really see how they would work other than making the bubbles?
I disagree, the placement is much, much better than that of the CCP.
Dualshocks feel fine with the analogs down there with out the controller was designed but with the CCP, it doesn't feel natural and it'll cramp over time.
The U Pro Controller is a significant upgrade to the CCP as the buttons are much better and the overall feel is much more comfortable.
C-Sticking is actually much easier since it's there right when you need it.
If there were arcade stick support for Smash, I'd think arcade stick would be the most comfortable option.
You know, I really hope that our calculations for a newcomer amount of 10 or less is going to turn out wrong.
Melee upped the 64 roster by 14 characters, and Brawl increased that roster by another 13 (counting transformations).
I'm personally hoping the roster is going be huge, preferably over 50 characters.
You're never being a condescending prick, quite the contrary, so yeah, it's hard to find you annoying.
Let Sakurai make the magic. I just want bubble shooting dinosaur dragons in Smash. And I want them NAO. :3
Problem is that Sakurai didn't even know that Rob was in Mario Kart . I saw someone mentioned that in this thread (or other mega thread)
Huh. I had never thought about it, but I suppose having the C-Stick in an even more accessible position might not be so bad. I still think I'd have to get used to the new layout, but I might consider picking one up. (Amazon JPN is having a sale: U Pro for $27.)
Hopefully this link works, I uploaded it to my dropbox account. It's 16MB.Do you have a .psd/GIMP file for this? It's about time I upped my presentation for my hopeful roster.![]()
ROB seemed like a fairly reoccurring suggestion for a retro rep for Brawl. What suddenly struck him off most lists was him also showing up as a generic drone in SSE; if not for that I wouldn't really consider him left-field like Mr. G&W or Snake were.
Seems like a dumb argument when you had stuff like the SNES Super Scope show up as items since Melee. If I had heard correctly a lot of people doubted ROB due to the fact that he technically didn't originate from a video game (being a peripheral and all).
