The Order 1886 Gameplay Footage

Decent graphics but that gameplay doesn't look good at all. It's the same thing we have seen million times over and what looks like not much more. With some basic QTE's thrown in it feels like I have already seen this so many times during the last generastion. A shame really.

That was possibly the narrowest corridor I've ever seen in a corridor shooter. Why didn't they just make a film, because they seem desperate to do so? Looks great visually but disappointing from a gameplay standpoint. QTEs need to die.

that's a bit elitist to say :P

Not really. I'm not really impressed with the artstyle they came up with and considering that this all is running at 1920x800 30FPS on a PS4 I don't really see much cause for fanfares.

Naturally I realize that there are many people that completely dig this steampunk stuff and I count myself amongst them but something just doesn't align here. I need to see more.

Can we just have ten minutes of uninterrupted in-game footage please, without any edits or cinematic sections? Seriously, that footage looks nice but there's only about 30 seconds of actual in-game stuff. Watching through YouTube months before release we don't really care how 'cinematic' the cutscenes or QTEs are - just show us raw gameplay.

Man, this game really seems to piss certain people off...

Looks great. Amazing visuals and setting. I like third person shooters so whatevs.

I usually like shorter games but I hope this is long because the atmosphere and locale seems amazing.

Visually, it looks cool... but I have yet to be excited. Maybe if they showed off the destructible environments or something. But up to this point at least, it just seems like a pretty standard TPS with lots of cutscenes.

They aren't hanging their hat on the gameplay. If anything, Sony has taught us in the last generation that gameplay isn't as important as the "cinematic experience". Remember how big FPS games were last generation on consoles? That's going to be the "cinematic experience" this gen. It's the new fad. I have a feeling this is where the consoles are going to be going this generation.

It's a shame that the b-roll is all we're going to get today in terms of gameplay footage. I expected more than that, something far more substantial and uninterrupted.

The game does look ace nonetheless.

+ great graphics! though ryse is still on par
+ love the setting, I always wanted an assasins creed in this time period so this may fill that gap

- quick times events are annoying even if they try to twist it as some cinematic experience. It was overused in ryse so I hope it's done less so here
- terrible ai. Especially when the 2 come across the baddies in the alley, one guy doesn't even turn despite getting shot at, granted this is probably early code so I'm hoping the final build will be a lot better
- black bars are still annoying, sick of hearing how cinematic it is trying to be

Overall a pretty good first reveal , first announcement I was kind of meh but this one is a lot better. Not really a game trailer though, more of a behind the scenes look, also reused a lot of footage ( infamous does the same thing and it's annoying)

Stunning graphics, gameplay looks very Gears of War derivate with less interactivity (= QTE´s and cutscenes galore). Too early to tell, I guess it all depends on how well they pull of the story and pacing. This could be anything between a Naughty Dog style masterpiece or a bland and boring graphics demo like Ryse.

Not gonna lie, from what's been shown and discussed by the devs so far, it's pretty much cemented itself as the poster-boy for just about every modern game design element I(and plenty of other enthusiasts on the board, no doubt) detest.

QTEs need to die.

I love all the people that seem to be intrigued because they give you a choice of weapon to use during the QTE.

As if mapping unique finishers to the A, B, X & Y buttons is any different and hasn't been done to death already.

There is no release date unless I missed something? Expect gameplay at E3. Also I personally think this will be a 2015 release. Before you start saying "b-b-but Artex they said 2014!". If you haven't noticed that has not been said definitively and they have been pretty coy about it.

You've never seen real-time visuals like this before in a game. Yes, PCs can also achieve this, but this beats everything else.

Artistic style and gameplay is a different subject, of course.

Graphically it looks decent, nothing mindblowing. once again gaf, overhyping a game and getting it ready for that letdown.

is it because its ps4 that the qtes are "revolutionary"? any other game on another system, and its a bash party.

Unless the gameplay is pretty heavily retooled, this looks to be pretty disappointing. They take one of the most truly unique and interesting settings since Assassins Creed and throw it into what looks like an incredibly generic shooter.

I'll keep an eye in it, but I have no desire to play another game like Gears. I almost don't even want to support another game that's so derivative.

If I was to bet on the release date, it would be sometime in Fall 2014. This seems like it's coming along splendidly.

2015 might be better for it, less competition.

Please provide some evidence to support this argument, because it sounds rather farcical to me. Sure, there were odd games like Heavy Rain/Beyond where the gameplay itself was secondary to the overall experience, but to suggest it was Sony's focus last gen is pretty fucking hilarious.

But please, go ahead and try to justify your comments.

I thought graphics gathered together all the merits under what I see? Maybe it would have been more accurate to state that I found visuals just decent. From a technological view this is indeed pretty ace. It doesn't mean much for me personally unfortunately.

There's something that doesn't smell good about this game... and it's the gameplay, but we need to see more. I may be the only one but this game again makes me wonder if developers are nowadays working on the tech first and then when all is said and done they work onthe gameplay mechanics. Sounds like a bad approach to me if it's this way...

Haha, man I have to laugh everytime when I read bs like that. Some people probably just can't understand that games can have good gameplay and good graphics + atmosphere.

Really hope the game opens up a little. That corridor was almost suffocatingly narrow. Game still looks more interesting than a God of War sequel though.
