"It's as valid a command as any other." is obviously untrue, since start would only ever need to be pressed once, but movement keys would need pressed multiple times.

It is equally obvious if you look at the chat or the thread that people are spamming it because they did not get their way.

And regarding people's opinion, consider this: Out of 60,000+ viewers, how many start9 people did it take to prevent it from working? Did it ever get above 60 for any given vote? That's 0.1%.

I don't think total votes for one polling cycle ever went all that high to begin with so the bigger problem is probably that tons of lurkers have no desire to make twitchtv accounts...
 
I honestly want to see at least one anarchy run of the Safari Zone before the democrats take over. We have the money for a couple mistakes.

the worst part is that there is no cycle, it's actually cumulative from the beginning

I doubt it'd work even with Democracy, the stream lag is too much with far with not enough room for error.

If it's tried and found to be impossible after an excessive number of attempts, then fine, switch to get it over with.

But there was no excessive number of attempts here. There wasn't even one. Hell, there wasn't even a definitive decision to go in that direction.

This was the democrats simply trying to pre-emptively take the controller from their little brother because they think they know better.

It just occurred to me that if we end up catching a dratini in the safari zone in Democracy mode, that little thing may incur more hatred than Flareon ever had.

One could say it's the anarchists trying to take the ball and go home because they can't get their way, if one is going to make child analogies. :P

The funny thing is that uniform following of a cause like start9 seems pretty much the opposite of chaotic anarchy, and the people who presumably wanted democracy are more chaotic than the others.

They should switch the labels around just because -- pidgeot gets democracy, flareon gets anarchy, labels switched in chat, but leave the game the same and see how people react.
 
If there is any time we should use Democracy, it's the Safari Zone. We really need to work together to get past this part, as we can't just throw ourselves against the problem infinitely until it's solved this time. Start9 isn't helping anyone. While I agree the it's more about the journey than the destination, it's a major bummer if the journey ends with a whimper because we dicked around in the Safari Zone too much and ran out of money forever.
 
Isn't the safari zone host to a bunch of glitches that can pop up if you try to enter/exit too much? God know how much we suck with doors.

Ends with a whimper? Pfft, I'd love for it to end with a whimper. That means that there would only be a few who would stick around -- the elite who kept going when things looked darkest.

Bots don't get bored and leave like people. The idea that the number of viewers will shrink to a manageable one is absolutely ridiculous.
 
I am not opposed to democracy in the right circumstances, but now was not the time.

Let the people suffer through failed visits to the Safari Zone. When they have seen their time and money spent with nothing to show for it, then their intrinsic natures will bend towards reconstituting democracy with a genuine purpose in mind.

Now it begins.

Here's a tool to switch HDR on and off especially when you're gaming from a couch or recliner and don't have a wireless remote with shortcut abilities
