I don't mind recapturing Bird Jesus, but every other Pokemon should be different. As a matter of fact, Bird Jesus should be a constant for all gens.

There is no 'recapturing' it. There was only ever one Bird Jesus, which belongs to Red. Calling every other Pidgey we run across Bird Jesus does not do it justice. If we catch one, it should be called something else, based on its own achievements.

I disagree. But I suppose time will tell whether this Pidgey will live up to the awe-inspiring, based, ultra-clutch Pidgeot that won battles left and right, that was a single button away from being released several times, but survived to fight another battle... or if it will just be another under-leveled Pidgey.

Anyone else feel like this has already been ruined by the Mr. Pokemon quest? Wild Pokemon are so under-levelled in Johto that we're going to really struggle to train anyone asides from Totodile.

Pidgey doesn't appear in Gen 3, 4, or 5. Maybe post-game in 4 and 5, I can't remember.

It doesn't appear in a region's Pokedex until Gen 6.
