Super Smash Bros. for 3DS and Wii U Thread 5: Yarning for Yoshi

They have a point here.
It wouldn't make sense to represent a series with a random enemy instead of the protagonist. If Little Mac can be considered "bland," then so can Link -- and it would be insane to represent the Zelda series without the playable hero. I don't see why Punch-Out!! is any different.

Damn. We're in sync today. Exactly what I was gonna say, but less concise.

Clearly she is a secret character. Bow down before your new rhythm based master.

The only acceptable Pac Man reps.

As much as I like what Sakurai's team has done with Little Mac, I disagree with you for once. Link with his medieval weaponry, elven persona and gagdetry in the form of hookshots and bombs is far more unique than an in-fighting boxer. The simple solution to that fan's dilemma would be to give Little Mac some of his opponents moves but for the sake of accuracy of the character, I see why that wasn't done.

An in-fighting boxer in smash is very unique IMO.

I meant "bland" in the sense that Link, like Little Mac, is a silent protagonist who navigates a world filled with unique, charismatic NPCs. Even if Link didn't have bombs or a hookshot he'd still be the first Zelda representative in Smash Bros. on account of being the protagonist/mascot. We've never gotten an enemy before the hero, and that honestly wouldn't make any sense.

Ah, I see. I agree with that notion then.

If there isn't at least one of an item, stage or character from Rhythm Heaven in this game, I might be forced to call a hit on Sakurai

Wubba Dubba Dub, is that true?

I have a special ringtone set up so every time I get a text it'll do one of 3 variations on "wubba dubba dub is that true?" or one of two variations on "Woah! you go big guy!" and it still makes me smile all the time it's so great.

Someone named CyberWolfJV made these Pac-Man concepts over at Smashboards:

Part 2

I don’t agree with everything, but I think he faithfully portrays Pac-Man's character.

I still need to buy the Wii Rhythm Heaven.
AU copies go for $55 though D:

I don't want to import a UK copy with that gross generic font on the spine

I really dig how that person put a lot of effort in digging deep in getting a ton of games referenced/worked in. Bravo, smashboards member.

Yeah there's a few things in that moveset that seem like they could not balance well. I don't see why Pac needs an explosion and projectile.

Otherwise, it's very faithful and well put together.

Pac-man probably would do really well here lol. But idk pac man just seems boring even when he is in sfxt, i didnt play as him as much. IMO Pac-man isn't as interesting as say Sonic but sonic is just way cooler lol. However, Pac-man design was pretty cool with the Mokujin and everything definitely a cool mix for a character design. But idk i guess just not my type of character i didn't really play as him much. But I think it's good thing plus with mokujin he has pretty much the same vertical hitbox as the other characters :D That's awesome, prevents the whole low hitbox argument that probably comes up with characters like Gon and Yoda :O

He did fantastic job with the concept moveset, and I really hope that people would shut up about pac man wouldn't work in Smash since there are plenty of sources to get the moves from. Hell, he could have Glider from Pac Man 2.

Well she only appears in nintendo consoles now, so there's SOME chance. Would be a wild card special guest, like Snake was. (Unless if Sega gets another guest and its Bayo. Which seems slim)
