I find it amusing that it now resembles more of a bumper you would see in a pinball machine, but I do love this redesign. The silver & red (with a dash of yellow & rose) really goes hand-in-hand.

Also, the Blue Bomber himself looks great in these screenshots.

I would've preferred if both the Bumper and the Flipper came back together, both serving slightly different purposes, but ah well. The Bumper looks nice, and if I had to pick one, it's certainly more fun as an item...

We've had a Stage Hazard and an Item so far this week. How about we round out the week with a new Stage, a new AT, and a new Mechanic Change?

That's a really cool redesign! I figured the bumper wouldn't get one since it already had a Smash logo on it but seems I was proven wrong. I guess all the Smash universe items are gonna get redesigns then?

Just to recap, the redesigned items we've seen are Capsule, Ray Gun, Home-Run Bat, and Bumper, right?

Probably because it was a Nintendo reference item vs a Smash world one. But the bumper is a classic item from the first game so I give it no beef.

Yes, its a hilarious item, its the epitome of what smash gameplay is, its always hilarious to see someone forget about the bumper thats right above the player for a split second only for them to jump into it and get denied in the most hardcore way possible

It's main function is area control...and trapping opponents against walls. Hilarious when used correctly.

For me it wasn't. Bumper vs Flipper is one of the many reasons I prefer casual SSBB FFA to SSBM FFA.
