Super Smash Bros. for 3DS and Wii U Thread 5: Yarning for Yoshi

If I could choose one new character, I'd probably pick The Wonderful 101 as a group while making them the size of Olimar or smaller. Pink for grabs, Red for open special, blue for u + special, black is down + special , green for forward + special. Would be hilarious and awesome.

Just wait till March 20th when we'll see Snake returns with his War Never Changes combos.

Tiki secret character, Advance Wars shit, andddddd

surprise. Project X Zone had like no Nintendo Bandai Namco characters.

No but seriously with the trend that Bandai Namco has been having with it's fighting games. They're probably gonna throw one of their characters in a fucking robot and end the day like in Street Fighter Cross Tekken and their other anime fighting games.

idk I liked God Eater, .hack, and Tales of Phantasia

I've made me explanations before and I'll say them again

Ganondorf- Still the main villain of his franchise and still fairly relevant even if its as ganon, he's staying

Agree here, but interesting fact is that Ganon(dorf) hasn't been the main villain of a single Zelda game asides from WWHD after brawl

SS- Ghirahim
and Demise
PH- Bellum
ST-Malladus
ALBW- Yuga
even Ganon's brief appearance had no talking and was short lived as Yuga dominated and destroyed the Gabon we knew

I would likely be happier to see Mewtwo or Meowth replace Lucario. I don't really follow the new Pokemon series', so I'm not sure if Lucario is the new popular Pokemon or something, but those two had a much large influence on my Pokemon experience and I would think, most people's.

As for cuts, I generally agree with the consensus that Lucas, Ike/Marth, Wolf/Falco, Snake and/or R.O.B will be cut. Copies and less popular characters are the most likely candidates, it seems.

...Marth?

I was under the impression that
Yuga was being controlled by Ganon at the end of ALBW, and that Demise was Ganondorf's original form.
But then again I could be reading into it too much.

Other than Bellum, all of them are created in Ganondorf's image ;)

Yuga is in fact Lorule's version of Ganondorf, just like Hilda is that world's version of Zelda. He just resurrected Mindless Ganon, the same from the Oracle games. To bring back Ganon in his true form you need the blood of Zelda or Link I believe.

I felt it was very implied Yuga was in control from the beginning. Everything he said had a very Yuga nature to it, Ganondorf/Ganon's didn't really sound like that, especially considering his talking roles in this timeline we ALTTP and OoT final scenes

Not only was Ghirahim much more the villain of SS, who wasn't based on Ganondorf at all,
but its more like Ganondorf is AN incarnation of his hate. Although yes, Demise was clearly designed as a badass Ganondorf

Their play styles are more based around the swords they wield. Falchion has always been portrayed as a fairly lightweight sword (since you start the game with it) while Ragnell is the heaviest and most powerful sword you can acquire in Ike's games (and you receive it late into the game).

What
have you even played any of Marth's games?
ironically the only time this is true is for Chrom

On a serious note, a Katamari Character would be so wonderful for this franchise. It could work! IT WILL WORK.
Yes please forever. Even just some little Katamari reference, a song, an AT, a regular trophy, anything would be amazing.

I don't think it'll ever happen, though, considering Katamari is pretty much a Sony-exclusive franchise and even then would hardly be Namco's first priority if they want to put things in Smash Bros., but... a man can dream.
I was really hoping that a Katamari character or reference would make it into PSASBR, but alas.

Speaking of crazy things Namco could bring in for Smash Bros... Homestuck characters were in Namco High recently. Just saying.

Also I guess back on my earlier comments about a 48 character roster, that wouldn't be too bad if it's 48 characters excluding transformations (or if transformations are cut because of the 3DS). I was thinking of it as 48 individual movesets which, assuming no Brawl cuts, would only be 9 newcomers. Which would be... far too few, in my eyes.

Hey guys, new poster here. Quick question, what is this big deal about Shrek in SSB on Miiverse? I see it everywhere and was wondering what the origin is. Kinda of hilarious.

That's Miiverse in a nutshell, look back about two pages for an 'epic' rant about the lack of Goku and Shadow

Does that type of stuff really happen on Miiverse? The few times that I browse the SSB community, it seems pretty normal and nothing like that(aside from the Shrek posts)...

Nah, the Shrek thing didn't originate on Miiverse, it's been a joke around the Internet for quite awhile and naturally extended to Smash. People requesting him are properly just referencing the memetic popularity of posting Shrek in non-related threads.

I will get my revengeance on Snake when Sakurai cuts off his stupid little head.

If ike is back theres almost a 100% chance he will have his 2nd game's appearance much like how marth's appearance is based off his latest games
and a few posters in smashgaf will swoon.

It may happen eventually, but thus far there have been no new characters in nightly pictures, correct?

I would thus think it's safer to predict 2 old characters interacting, or a new stage, or an item, or Captain Falcon returning.

But his proportions are different, which means it would require unnecessary work. I'm not against Hunk Ike getting in or anything, but it isn't like Marth's wardrobe changes.

I think they'll save them all for Directs and other events, more coverage that way.

They really need a Homestuck newcomer already. Considering a good majority of the cast use the same base sprite, you could easily make ~130 alternate skins based on the other characters. Quit being so lazy, SSB4 devs. Use that Namco cash money.

I could somehow see a Terezi reveal working in the worst possible of ways.

You should check out the Please Sakurai Tumblr thing if you want a good laugh =)

I predict a picture of the Pikmin. In the Garden of hope, to boot.

Double-checking that 48 rumor again, why does it have more credibility than any other non-GAF/Palutena 'leak'? I don't think* the person themselves is lying but after the last E3 where a GAF member wound up losing their account they'd had for five years with several thousand posts because they posted a bizarre and completely wrong leak, just having a long posting histroy doesn't seem to mean much in regards to a source's legitimacy.

EDIT: *Originally wrote the exact opposite of what I meant to say, whoops.
