I had high hopes for this movie, it has a lot of potential. Comparisons to Fountain are welcomed imo, it was a fantastic and beautiful movie.

Site wouldn't load for me. Could someone summarize the comparison to The Fountain?

"THE FOUNTAIN really is the template for NOAH, at least when it comes to bombast mixed w/ deeper concerns. If you hated THE FOUNTAIN..."

"Noah is a divisive film (not from a religious perspective), akin to The Fountain, will have its fans & haters. Im in the former for both."

Interesting. Thanks dude.

Was there ever any confirmation that Aronofsky got his way when it came to the movie's ending?

I'm excited for it. The Fountain comparisons are a good sign.

Can't help but think about The Passion of the Christ when I read about NOAH though. They are going for very different feels I'm sure, but I'll never forget what an emotional experience it was for me.

I was invited to a private screening for an entire church (not mine, a relatives), and it was like the worst funeral of all time. The sobbing and crying was like those videos of Kim Jong-il's funeral from NK. Very surreal to experience as a young person. I was the only one not crying... and I got some looks for it. But that's not to say it wasn't moving.

Anyway, always great to see very well done Bible films, and this looks like it could be the best ever.

Yep, it's his cut. 2 hours and 12 minutes long. One of the cuts the studio was testing was a 96-minute, stripped down version appealing only to Christians. Glad he got his way.

Can't believe those that think outdoes The Fountain. That's my all-time favorite score.

Seriously.

.@iamclintmansell's score for Noah may be my favorite Mansell score (will need album to confirm). It's next iteration of The Fountain score.

It feels more like Last Temptation for me, as in an auteur providing a bit of a twist, or at least unexpected, version of the events. Likely will be divisive.

Holy shit the thing everyone wanted to know if it was in the film is actually in! Guess they followed the graphic novel more closely than what people thought.

I liked this one: "Really only the first half of #Noah has been advertised, minus some heavy fantasy elements. The second half is character-based thriller."
Thanks brah. Thatsall i need...

Yeah, if you go to the NYC art show that's going on you can see a glimpse of the creatures. They look pretty wild, something straight out of Lord of the Rings. The fiery angel looked way crazier though.

Beautiful. Aronofsky is a fucking genius, so hearing that just gets me even more hyped for this movie.

Pretty sure I am going to love this then.

Religious texts have so many fantastic stories ripe for these sorts of reimaginings. I'll be there day one.

This seems pretty hyperbolic:
NOAH: imagine the serious philosophical and faith explorations of LAST TEMPTATION OF CHRIST with a LORD OF THE RINGS sheen.

Lol.

This sounds promising, but has bomba written all over it:
#Noah is a complicated film, but strong overall. The studio seems lost, but they at least have a good product to figure out how to sell.

The Fountain is one of my favorite films of all time, but this is Aronofsky so I was going to see it no matter what anyways.

Can't wait.

How divisive can a Noah story be though? Only the real nutjob Christians take the Noah story literally.

Some will scoff at the idea of doing a Bible story at all, others will not be pleased by the fat that's it's more of a fantasy story based on Noah rather than a strict Christian movie.

So far I've not been decided if I want to see this as I have absolutely no interest in anything religious, but if movie is akin to The Fountain, I'm in.

Is Aronofsky religious?

The Vatican movie review will be interesting, that's for sure.

I somehow love the idea of aronofsky doing a Noah film, this gonna be another aronofsky film where the setting and characters feel really detached, as if they're from some sliders-esque alternate reality where the air is just different?

*watches trailer*

Fuck, I wish this was one of those films described above. The trailer looks so generic.

Is that going to be a dealbreaker for you? :p You're not being indoctrinated by some Hollywood movie, brah. Religion is fascinating and the tales from it have inspired many a great classic story.

He's an athiest.

Spoilers. Lame

Why would they tweet stuff we haven't seen.

Still not seeing spoilers. The creatures? Or the fact everyone except Noah and his family dies? The former has been discussed since the earlier iteration of the project and the latter..well, you know.

In my mind The Last Temptation and The Fountain are polar opposites. And I loved The Last Temptation. But since I also really like every Aronofsky film that is not The Fountain I'm really curious how the scales will tip.

The Fountain is a great, mind-tripping love story (maybe my favorite movie love story ever). I did not pick that up at all from the preview of Noah but I'm curious now...

Yes religion is fascinating, but I'm not going to watch a movie where the point is about how you need religion. Not talking about Noah in this case, but about movies like Fireproof.

I was sceptical about this movie ever since hearing about how the studio supposedly wanted to tone the movie down and pander to the christian demographics. I'm not a part of that demographic and lost interest. Now it's back again.

I feel like if Paramount sold Noah like that whatsoever its key demographic wouldn't show up. By showing a watered down, standard version they won't turn people off.
