PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | March 2014

Akiba's Trip! How is the game? By far one of the titles I am most interested in that I know nothing about.

Get that dinosaur game I posted a few pages back
Why would i buy a bad game.
HOW HAVE YOU NOT PLAYED FF9? Of those three the best performing (to todays standards) is Final Fantasy 9.
That or Chrono Trigger, the PS1 FF5 and FF6 versions are tough to play because of loading. Chrono Trigger is a bit better in loading (but not by much)
Aghhhhh. I pick... FF9? *gasp* !! Fuck THAT !! Ima buy the Tearaway OST !!
Ever since FFX came out so many years ago, I dreamt of the day I could play it on a handheld system. And now it's happening. My inner child is bouncing off the walls.

Haha. Madoka.

I finally started playing Broken Sword 5 and just finished the first area, here are some quick impressions.

The game looks good on the Vita's screen but the screen itself is a too small for the touchscreen controls. Many things things are next to each other so sometimes you hit the wrong one accidentially. Using your fingers also covers up stuff you are looking for. I don't understand why there isn't the ability to zoom and a fake mouse option like in Machinarium, maybe even include the backtouch.
You advance text by touching anywhere on the screen which often leads to skipped text which won't be repeated, very disappointing. Dialogue is handled by choosing pictures, whose dialogue content is not always obvious.
Overall, the UI isn't well done.

The speed of the game is a little bit too slow. It can be annoying to have to wait for useless character animations before you can interact with them and the dialogues sometimes seem too slow moving/long.

The puzzles so far weren't anything special, same as the dialogues. The overall story behind the picture is intruiging though.

Wait, the PSN Store is being updated late AGAIN? Common Sony, people are paying for PS+ for Online for PS4 now, this crap should be fixed by now....

Either way, can't wait for the GTA sale to go live, as I will be able to play Chinatown Wars and either San Andreas or Vice City (will get others latter this week) :).

Been playing Tomb Raider 2013 on PS3 (thanks to plus) and am really surprised how good the game is :). The controls feel great, the world is much more open than, say Uncharted (the game that this game is clearly trying to ape, which is fair considering Uncharted "ripped off" Tomb Raider first) and the combat is really fun (the bow is a lot of fun to use).

For anyone who didn't play Lone Survivor and Thomas is Alone, both are wonderful games and they play great on Vita :); the former felling a lot like a proper Silent Hill is wonderful and the latter surreal vibe along with the narrator make it great as well.

It's a lot of fun. Very solid beat-em-up with tons of weapons that completely change your fighting style when you equip them. Silver baseball bat is GOAT. I like that, apart from being able to heal yourself, you're pretty much just as fragile as the enemies, adding a little tension to fights. I'm looking forward to the English version too because goddamn, all that kanji. Can't wait.

If you want the PSN to update at a set time every week, just tell yourself it updates on Wednesday at noon.

This works every time, except for those times when it doesn't.

o_O

been busy ... haven't been around here much
what have I missed?

(thanks suppa! didn't miss that :P)

can't wait to get LUFT and SteamWorld Dig!

EDIT: We need to come up with a list of games announced for the Vita and put it in the OT
#anotherdayanotherVitagame

Loaded my wallet so I could spend those $60 today including this week's discounts and whatnot, and now I feel stupid for trusting them to push that update in time.

I wonder if it'll be done before the promo is over. Probably not.

Hopefully they actually finish the update today. Want to see if anything is on sale. Anyone know if anything unannounced has been put on sale?

I'm waiting for the plus discounts to get SteamWorld. If it doesn't get updated I won't have enough for the get $10 back deal. What a crock.

How's festival if blood? Never got it and I see it's still on sale.

I honestly don't understand what's so hard about uploading a game to the store and having the discount applied at the same time.

It does not take multiple hours to apply a sale price. Yet it happens every time.

It's a fun and short 3-5 hour distraction. Worth the $2.50 it's currently on sale for imo

I would love to know why as of recently it is hard to get the Playstation Plus content to publish correctly on the store. Last week we had discounts not being active until days later and it seems like this week will be the same. I want to buy SteamWorld Dig to push me over the $60 spent in a week so I can get the $10 rebate but it's on the store now without the Plus discount.

I think I'll ring customer support tomorrow and refuse to put the phone down until they give me good reason for keeping my account banned, even though I've got the money I'm owed back :\ I'm in danger of missing out on the March PS+ content I've paid for if this keeps up.

To be clear, it's X + X-2 at that price. They're not sold separately.

are we sure they won't be? the store isn't close to finished updating and given they include digital FFX-2 with retail copies it wouldn't be surprising for them to sell them separately as well

Steamworld with the + Discount is up via search on the store!

I am officially the first person to give the game "thumbs up" on the PS4! :p

Unit 13 PS Plus discount is up and running.

(I got it through all deals + PS Vita filter, shows right at the bottom. When you add it to the basket it shows 17.99, but it's 0.00 on actual checkout)

Vita-GAF, halp.

I want to spend another $20 to get the $10 credit. What are some Vita-only (as in not PSP, not PS Classic, etc) recommended games that are only available digitally? I already have every PS+ Vita game. I was interested in TxK, but I'd still like to hear what you guys have to say.

Thanks!

I bought TxK on release due to the hype that was surrounding the game
As much hype as a Vita only game can muster
. The PS+ discount helped me pull the trigger, and if you like that style of game it is excellent.

Wanted to wait until the update to spend the other $30 I need to get the $10 credit, but I also want to see what this week's deals are. :(

I was originally going to buy FFX/X-2 for my wife's vita, but I don't know if sub-account spending counts towards the master account.
