Santier's Spear mechanism is pretty awesome.
It has 500 durability. Once depleated (by hitting), the top breaks off and it's a mix of a Spear-Halberd-Twinblade. Sadly it doesn't scale. Might be best for a Poison/Bleed/Mundane build It also stays at 0 durability and can't be repaired (doesn't need to). So it's unbreakable.

Goddamn, Belfry Sol. So many invaders.

I can't say I like PVP in this game. It feels laggy and I almost always lose. I'm such a casul.

Hmm so some Dark help? I've been pretty much ignoring dark as I'm going high faith, high strength. But now I have a chance to upgrade my bow with either Dark or Lightning; which would be better? Like I say, high faith, three int.

I'm disappointed at miracles, being a faith warrior. I see all these awesome new sorceries and all I got are rehashes.

To the contrary, I think miracles are a big step up from DeS and DaS. You got heals, area of effect heals, regen, single target offense, area of effect offense, stat buffs, weapon buffs, and utility.

Faith is AWESOME in this, can't wait for my second character after I get bored of my Dex/Adp build. :)

Dark is a mix of int and faith, Lightning is just pure faith. So yeah, lightning.

Does defense or poise do anything? Especially in PvP? I can't notice the difference.

Good day overall for me

-2 primals down
-Smelter down
-Belfry down (killing two invaders on the way to do it)
-Finally found a weapon I like.

man fuck. Is anyone in the blue guardian covenant? I keep wearing the ring that auto summons you to help defend hosts who get invaded but I haven't been summoned a single after wearing it for hours and hours. also, I keep trying to use the blue cracked eye orbs but every time I do I get a "failed to find world to defend."

I really like the concept of being the 'good guy' in pvp but not digging the ZERO percent success rate ffs... might have to join up with the bellboys. am I doing something wrong?

Nope, been hoping to see you Blue's come rescue me from invasion the entire game so far. I've had one single invasion int he 40 hours I've played and even kited that guy around the map for awhile waiting for Blue rescue squad to show up.

Eventually I just killed him off myself bored of waiting. Something is definitely up. I'm still sticking with Way of the Blue at least until everything unfolds properly once. Maybe at the 100 hour of playtime mark?

No, it was the same for me. I ended up switching to bellbros too. Lots of actions and titanite cunks as rewards.

Its to baad because my most played character in DS1 was a Darkmoon Blade.

Yeah defense is important as that's what lowers damage you take. Poise is important too as it keeps you from staggering if you get hit. ie can continue mashing R1 even if they sneak a shot in. a lot of pvpers like to roll in with their giant swords which will stunlock you quick if your poise ain't up to snuff.

Yeah, but wizards can literally rain down souls of their enemies. They got this sick magic sword swoosh. They got some weird Diablo 2 Ice Storm thing. All I get are lightning bolts (which are cool, but I want more). Even pyromancy got a shitload of new stuff, Fire Swirl, delayed fireball, etc.

Invasions are really rare due tot he limited amount of cracked eye orbs AND you have to be human. Really stupid.

I noticed no difference with a high ADP and poise ring. Same with defense, seem to get hit for the same amount no matter what.

poise will help you not get scrub mashed, defense will make it so you can endure more mashes from scrubs

Been trying to finish off some endgame stuff before moving on to ng+. I've been clearing up random stuff here and there alrhough I can't beat
the ancient dragon
on the last stage even with summons...
i can't escape it flame when it shoots it from the air
. I checked a video online and some dude beat it with no gear on, -.-.

Also in The Fallen Giant area, I've cleared everything except
there's a door next to the Pharaohs door, i get a prompt saying it locked from the other side

Defense is subtle, but if you run around naked you'll die a lot faster than moving in full armor(Take this from the guy who's main character was pretty much naked for the first 25% of this game). Poise doesn't matter till you get it above 40, but being able to take a hit and give one back without getting stunned is entirely worth it in pvp.

Yeah I love how quick it is to lightning spear especially. Never used faith in Dark Souls so it's new to me :)

Dig.

Poise makes you lose less stamina while blocking I believe.

For
Ancient Dragon, when he starts moving up, run behind his tail, the fire tends to have a shorter range towards his back. Seems the fire is spread more to the sides and front. Just make sure that there's enough distance, so try to keep him around the middle of the place.

I was going to use Bastard Sword only until I found Claymore, but it seems I'll stick with it now. No Claymore to be found.

Is there a permanent or semi-permanent way to do a fire sword like
Smelter Demon
?

Also, can I make a poison bow regardless of which arrows I use?

Invasions (outside of the Belfrey) have definitely picked up since starting ng+. Been invaded five times now (and got ganked three out of those five times, need more mlgprohax).

Anyways, just joined the Way of the Blue to see if it works at all.

I need a pvp weapon badly but don;t have a lot of str or agi. Suggestions?

DEX build? Best pvp weapon is Katana. Practice the backstep attack so that you hit it right after the enemy has attacked (obviously only works with heavy weapons or the second swing will hit you). Punish turtles with poison or bleed.

That's good to know. I feel like most people just wanted to beat the game before they start trolling each other.

I'm on the way to the Iron Keep (I think) and I must be doing something wrong. I have to pass that chasm with four of those fast bastards, fight a red phantom, and then a boss?
There has to be a shortcut or something I'm missing here because it's just getting downright stupid at this point.

Fucking finally, I beat (optional boss [that most people will probably attack anyway])
King Vendrick, had to abandon my habit of rolling all over the place to finally do it. He's a really simple boss, just that he's in a small space and hits like a truck.
Now I wonder if I should take on the other optional boss,
Ancient Dragon, just to be a jackass.
Or just beat the game.

I have to say, after beating all of the bosses... nothing was as difficult as the Dark Souls DLC bosses (
Manus and Artorias
specifically)

Ok, evidently there are some optional bosses that I missed, maybe they will stack up.

Really enjoyed the game, also managed to miss some areas, like the whole of undead purgatory. Will do NG+ eventually, final SL was like 130~

How do you get him to fight back? I was hitting him and it did nothing.

generic spoiler:
you need a certain soul(s) to lower his defense

specific spoiler:
you need to go up dragon shrine, get the mist thing the ancient dragon gives you, and enter the memories of those dead giants you find in the forest of giants to get souls of giants. there's another soul of giant in the black gulch, and another for killing ancient dragon (lol)

once you have a few it'll lower vendrick's defenses down for you to do noticeable damage. you could probably kill him without but it'll take a long time

I literally would have never figured that out. I just thought you weren't supposed to kill him.

The most unique boss-fight so far has to be
the Rat Vanguard
. Took a while until I understood what happened!

Most difficult so far has to be
the Scorpion..

Edit: I changed my mind about the most difficult.
It's the wolf in Pharros.

Yeah,
King Vendrick
just hits hard as hell but Artorias would be leaping all over the place and buffing himself up. He may not have hit as HARD each time, but he was a lot trickier to deal with as there wasn't a relatively easy exploitation with hitboxes.

And I just kept hitting him, I had actually done that first rather than
going and grabbing the ring off of his clothes (wtf) like you were really supposed to do. I was EXPECTING a pushover because he was heavily hollowed, frail, and when I spoiled myself I just knew that he wasted away, but NOPE, still wrecks you with that sword.

Man, the NPC that'd lead to him was the one I was talking to when I got invaded by some asshole. But still I just wanted to check him out, now that I have terrible luck
with the Bell
Covenant I should go check that out.

Murakumo is BEAST of a sword when fully upgraded. Went from losing almost every pvp fight to dominating almost all of them.

Light attack is fairly fast for a huge ass sword.
Heavy attack first hit sucks, the follow up is great.
Both the rolling and dodge attacks do a nice sweeping arc.

Only issue is the stat scaling isn't the best, but putting lightning on that helped.

Silver Talisman + Rat Covenant: so much fun being that guy. No one suspects the rat statue.

I'm nowhere near done with the game yet, but I thought that
The Lost Sinner
was easily as hard as Artorias. As a Dex/Caster who
didn't know about the illumination trick
he gave me absolutely NO breathing room.

i'm totally lost and dunno where to go. i've beaten the g
argoyles. and the sinner guy. opened lots of doors in the bastille with the bastille key. freed this guy in his cell from petrification. the path from gargoyles lead to bellfry luna. but it's a dead end. any hints?

That's the end of that path. Once you hit a primal bonfire it means you reached the end

there's nothing left in belfry luna after gargoyles besides a dark phantom fight.
