Seriously, though. The doors of Pharros fucking sucks because of this. Who are these assholes who summon people just to bank them with the help of NPCs? Not fun. Only real complaint so far about the game.

Yeah, this is my real problem with it. Every single time I've been summoned in Doors of Pharros it's by some loser spamming magic/arrows at me from a cliff the second I spawn in their world.

Just lame.

I've managed to kill all but one rat man summoning me. But yes, that does seem to be what they do.

I'm not sure how locations work when invading. Most of the time you end up in the area you invaded in, but sometimes you get sent elsewhere. Sometimes they aren't even geographically close.

No clue. I was invading as a blue sentinel from the Dragon area...got bonked all the way back to the Wharf. The summoning portion is fucked atm--which figures.

I stocked up on cracked red eye orbs, poison knives and bleeding knives. Time to start invading.

I even backed up my save to PS+ so I can just delete my save and do the same thing in 24 hours. I will probably hit NG+ this weekend.

I've been doing this as well, and it's been working wonders for me using a UGS

Kinda stuck at the moment. From what I can tell, the only way for me to progress is to
buy the ring that will allow me to survive long falls and head into the well in Majula
. I know this probably isn't right, but I really can't think of where else I need to go.

Here's a list of bosses I've already defeated. I don't need a detailed answer of what I have to do because I want to avoid taking too much help, so please just give me a yes or no thanks!

The Last Giant
The Pursuer
Executioner's Chariot
Flexile Sentry
Lost Sinner
Belfry Gargoyles
Ruin Sentinels
Scorpioness Najka
Freja
Old Dragonslayer
Dragonrider
Prowling Magus

Shrine of Amana spoilers -
The Demon of Song
has a very cool visual desgin

Definitely one of the gnarliest monster designs I've seen. So brilliantly fucked up.

Do you think the
soul minimum
will put a damper on speed runs?

Not sure. The requirement should only be
one million souls
on a regular game (new game, not +) so players may figure out an optimal strategy for farming. I could see something involving taking a Bonfire Ascetic as the starting gift and using it to refresh an area/boss playing into the strategy. Though it remains to be seen.

I really like the design of the
knights in Iron Keep and Iron Keep as a whole
so far. Gives off a strong Anor Londo vibe. One of them dropped a
black steel katana
. Anyone who's using it, is it any good? It looked pretty cool so I thinking of using it.

Wow that clears a lot up. I was sure I had over 500 wins by counting tokens of spite (red soap) and cracked red orbs (duels) but since rank 3 wasn't popping I thought you might've needed 500 in exclusively either duels or invasions. This means I'm probably way closer than I thought.

I'm actually not sure if that also plays a role. :/

I've been doing exclusively invasions with somewhere around 60 wins, but I think I'm also around 20 or so losses. Still haven't gotten Rank 1.

Man, I suck at PvP in that 2nd Belfry tower. So large, so my magic do well when people can easily dodge in any direction. Went back to 1st Belfry and had better luck. Killed a guy with like 1 or 2 hits with my Flame Swathe.

During that little experiment with me getting destroyed, decided to redo my outfit. Mainly the legs, as I already +10 the chest piece (since it was cheap to do so). Now wearing normal pants that give me decent protection. Hood still very weak, but gives me +3 int, so likely keep it on. Going to start increasing my weight limit again, so I can stay fast and be more protected.

Apparently there is "Immolation" in Belfry Sol.. Oh boy. Will have to try to get that tomorrow. Assuming I don't go offline for that. :P

Stronger than the Uchigatana slightly when maxed and at 40 DEX, but I personally like the Uchigatana's moveset better.

I personally roll with Berserker Blade though, second strongest katana besides the Chaos Blade.

Yep, I've used it. It's a solid weapon, gets to an S in scaling (I believe). I just didn't enjoy the R2 move (it's a backup, pull from the sheath and slash motion) so I stuck with my Uchigatana and Manslayer.

What are people's thoughts on the twinblade? Worth investing in and using?

It's cool as hell, but the dmg is weak but the multiple hits makes up for it--but it also means you have to connect with all those hits..it also seems like it's only useful for 2-handing. I dicked around with it for a while and the durability drained quickly since it hits the floor/walls so much.

Twinblade needs a little more "umph" to it but I feel it can break poise/shield break people very easy if you hav e the stamina for it.

It breaks to damage easily tho

Edit: like above I thought of a few interesting combos with it regarding PvP as well

Does the world need more Blood Bros or Blue Sentinels to make the PvP dynamic between them work better?

Trying to decide which to join.

Well, it looks like mules are a thing again. Get ready for near-zero soul memory invaders ganking in the Forest and Lost Bastille with maxed out gear.

Finally finished the game tonight. Not going to set off on NG+ just yet, I may do a faith or sorcery build first.

Not sure how to rank this compared to the other Souls games yet, need to mull it over.

Dual Wield Dex with high Adp was fun though.

It needs more blood bros invading. DS1 you had the infinite red orb to invade people af all times at will. Not anymore now.

Also problem is red cracked orbs can only be obtained through pick ups or covenant duels. They are almost non existent.

Also police covenant only works when your in an area of someone of the same covenant with the rimg on.

So, what we have is a ying and yang covenant set up that can't work because stipulations are jacked.

I hope From has a plan... they had to know something like this was coming since it was so prevalent on DS1. Soul Memory be damned.

+10 Mundane on your Twinblade.
Make sure all your stats even out, EXCEPT for one stat.
So like EVERYTHING is at 25, except for one stat ie: lowest stat at 24 or some crap.
You will hit like Havel but faster...+210 extra dmg yo.

I disagree, there's almost no shortage. Unlike the sentinels there's no entry fee for BHOB duels. I have 99 cracked reds in the bank, about 99 in the invo, and few hundred dropped on the ground in front of the duel statue that I'm using to keep track of wins for covenant leveling. This is going to sound really condescending and I don't mean it to be, but chances are if you can't win a duel to get a cracked red orb you probably won't be able to successfully kill a host during an invasion either.

Any tips on how to do this? I'm using the Moonlight Greatsword. :P

each Giant Soul you have halves his defense, each one of the four big souls counts towards how much damage you do to him with all four you do 100% damage 3 75% and so on (This may not be true, but there you have it). Collect all 5 giant souls and have all 4 boss souls and he isn't too hard to fight, as long as you don't get hit

There is no price to fight. I agree thats nice, but before I could easily buy red orbs and save the time of duel arenas. That was always the best part of the covenant back then, Was invading people on their own turf. Nothing wrong with arena if you like it but the fun of invading people was just that. The invasion. The unexpectedness of it all and being ready for pvp on the fly.

I've been invaded by people maybe twice? And another one was we inviting them in via red soap stone. Its a jacked system right now, but if I'm right DS1 was rough out the gate with pvp too so maybe it will fix it self

Llewellyn chest armor has to be the best-looking in the game. Smexy.

One of my favorite weapons in the game. I've been using it ever since I got it. It scales with DEX at S once upgraded, on top of its solid base damage, and has a nice moveset and good all-around range.

Lately I've been power-stancing both Berserker Blade +5 (also a katana) with Blacksteel Katana +10 and it's been working very nicely. Hard to beat the badass factor (especially while also wearing Llewellyn armor), and you output significant damage, especially with the various resins (which are happily far more useful than in Dark Souls 1, and the gold pine resin can now be purchased infinitely).

So I'm at lost Bastille, I can't for the life of me get past that room of all those soldiers. I open the door and they all charge at me.

Anyone know where the claymore is too?
I ran back all the way to the
secret tower
room using the ladder...they all follow, some fall off, the others are bow fodder.

No idea where that is but is that far into the game?

My knight she's a bit low on the decent armor front I'm still using starting stuff. If I had better I probably could.

I've been going inside instead I'll try that then thanks. Do they drop their stuff or is it available later on?

And whose that person under the tree in white armor is that this game's black knight sort of thing?
I am just about to open that door as I FINALLY found the
branches
needed to remove
petrification
. You can get there right from Majula as long as you visit
Harvest Valley and/or Earthen Peak
to get the branches. Bring some
poison
resist! ;) Or dont like me and just be happy with half a health bar for a while!

So poison weapons seem totally useless. Mobs just die quickly (using an unupgraded manslayer) before they get poisoned I guess. Has anyone succeeded in poisoning a boss with a poison weapon?

Pyromancies, dung piles, poison arrows, poison throwing knives don't count.

Also, holy shit mundane infusion looks like its AMAZING http://www.reddit.com/r/DarkSouls2/comments/20onxa/psa_the_mundane_infusion/

I've been poisoning the Smelter Demon. I can get his HP to half with only a few hits because of it. It's pretty much my only option because as soon as he
gets his fire whip he wrecks me
.

I've finished off most of them trying to get that drop but it hasn't happened yet. I guess you have to get lucky.

I found poison to be hugely effective against Smelter. Coated my Blacksteel Katana with rotten pine resin and by the end of the fight he died to the poison itself.

Hmmm...

I killed the four old ones, but the doors aren't opening for me at the two locations I know of.

Did I screw myself by making weapons out of their souls before opening the doors?

I haven't found new armor in awhile and it kinda hit me...I don't think I've ever upgraded armor in a souls game, ever. I always feel like I'm going to find a better set later, unlike how I start to focus on weapons for awhile.

Make sure you're wearing item discovery boosting gear, like the Traveling Merchant Hat and Gold Covetous Ring.

If you
spend enough money on that merchant at the start of Iron Keep, he gives you a Gold Covetous Serpent Ring +1 for free
. The merchant also sells the Jester Hat. which buffs item discovery as well.

Also try using a rusted coin for that extra edge. I have three Blacksteel Katanas, so they're not hugely uncommon.
