Since the internet is unhelpful on this. NEAR END SPOILERS HELP:

Where do I find all the memories of giants to weaken Vendrick?
You can find 4 in the Forest of Fallen Giant's. You also get a giant's soul for defeating the Ancient Dragon. Do you need specific locations? I beat him with the 4 I found in the forest.

That changes things.. I haven't used a Bonfire Ascetiic yet, and understand that it ups the difficulty to that of NG+. My question is:
is the entire game now raised to NG+ difficulty, or just the area (lets say Heide's Tower of Flame) where I used it? The former makes sense, but I would assume that ALL bosses would be respawned too.

Just the area where you used it. Heide's Tower of Flame spoilers:
When i used it on the first bonfire there i only got one of the bosses, i assume that was because the other boss is actually in another area.

That one area is raised one level for the entire run and your future runs on that file. So if you use one in NG, it changes to NG+. But in NG+, that area has NG++ difficulty.

Ya. Which means I will never ever kill the boss of the Dragon area considering I raised that bonfire to +3 to farm for items, lol.

So guys.. Should I waste my Twinkling Titanites to upgrade the Drangleic Sword?

Don't see why not. Everyone hoards shit so much in this game cause they think "well I'm sure I'll use this for something better/important" but that usually never comes. You get that sword early, don't you? If you're in love with it and the moveset, I say go for it. Else there's a lot more weapons to fall in love with.

Should I invest in pyro? I am on a strength build right now and need some range, also how much ATT do I need for at least two spell slots

It's certainly going to make NG+7 SL1 runs pretty time consuming.

Lol, ya. I'll probably migrate over to the PC ver--but either way I'll be keeping my current main at SL150 for PvP action. He's still in NG so I need to jump over to NG+ for more consisten PvP.

He's a Hexer/Katana dual wielder (staff/katana) and I'm enjoying him quite a bit. My Great Resonant Soul 1-shots almost everyone.

I started a few new characters in the last few days to coop with my cousins. After seeing one of them whipping everything in sight, we all farmed Old Whips from trading with the crows. Two of us did it on separate characters though (picking petrified stone as gift and trading, took 5 or 6 restarts) and had to level them up to trade with our intended characters.

After getting a load of random items and stuff to bring over, we decided to murder most of the town to bring their stuff over. We also went to No Man's Wharf and killed Lucatiel, and bought her sword from the traveling merchant. I killed the Blacksmith too early though, and realized I should summon his ghost to use my upgrade mats on the new sword. I know its a bunch of busy work but I had a lot of fun running through the levels at breakneck speed, killing Pursuer on the roof by the Cardinal Tower bonfire and finding secrets all of us had missed our first time through there.

I could play these games forever. DS2 has seriously derailed my plan to attack my backlog. I finally took a break today and played FFX but my mind is not with it. I'm thinking of other things I could do to boost my new guy. Not to invade, just to play as a new character with a bunch of gear she probably shouldn't have. I'm not even sure which one will be my NG+ character. Not that it matters much but they have very different gear so far.

Honestly I found
Chariot to be of the same difficulty as Covetous Demon. It was a nice setpiece but nothing more.

It was different to "slash until dead" that 90% of the other bosses requires so is memorable simply because of that.

sure, there are some online issues since the last patch but I was still able to play without waiting too much. this online with dedicated servers is way better than the ones from the previous games.

oh, I never met an invader so far. is there an object to use for invading infinitely? Also how do I get summoned by the blue covenant? Shit ain't working.

Different, sure. Memorable, eh. I'd attribute the memorability of the encounter more to the level design and aesthetics than the actual gameplay but that's just me.

in Iron Keep with the aid of some fellow Sunbros. Poison works really well against this boss. I cast Poison Cloud as soon as the fight started, and one of my Sunbros also did the same. Rotten Pine Resin on my BSK +10 later on ensured the boss was poisoned the whole time.

You know that reminds me. Is it just me or are poison arrows really good in this game? I never used them in Demon's Souls, and only use them in Dark Souls for the Anor Londo archers. Surprised how many enemies, and bosses are weak to it.

I'll try this again:

o I'm kinda lost and I don't know where to go

I just killed the big ass spider boss and lit the 3rd special bonfire. I've beaten the Gutter and that skeleton in the dark room, now what?

Also I found Straid and started buying weapons like crazy only to realise seconds after that I was using all the boss souls. They don't have a better use than that, right?

Also I've found 3 or 4
petrified giants and when I try to examine them nothing happens

Demon's had dedicated servers. It was solid online.

Poison is so much better in this game. Love it, especially hitting people with stuff like toxic mist in pvp.

Where's a good place to come across them? I used poison arrows like mad in DaS but haven't fired one yet because I've only got 40.

Go find the miracle lady in Majula's entrance to Heide's Tower of Flame and have her switch the path for 2k souls.

Poison in general seems to have gotten a nice buff.

My only experience with it is the resin, but it's been useful. I'm impressed at how useful in general the pine resins are, especially the previously much-maligned Charcoal Pine Resin. They're effective enough (and can be bought infinitely from different merchants for a reasonable price) that I haven't felt the need to go INT for great magic weapon. The resins provide solid melee buffs.

You need to go to the Iron Keep. It's a couple of areas past Huntsman's Copse.
Don't worry about the giants right now. You won't be able to do anything with them till later.

Damn, the cyclops have some bs attacks. So many of them in this area too ;-;

Wow, those 20 or so Effigies were not well spent at all.
Havel you bastard
How did you get that many? And yeah, that area made me lose a good few. Then the game glitched and kicked me out of the covenant so oh well.

Can someone explain to me why i never get invaded in this game?
I run around with human all the time and never got invaded once. The area also doesn´t seem to matter. Is it because i have no sins, how do i even sin in this game?

It's been working for me on PS3.

It's working...but not very good.

Out of every 10 attempts with a cracked blue, it'd work once, and the other 9 it'd "fail to join MP session" and various other error messages.

Cracked Red Eye Orbs are extremely rare in NG. They drop and are found in only a very few locations. I think I had like 5 after beating the game--so people aren't bothering. Most of the PvP seems to be going down in NG+ as you can get the invading orbs more reliably--which is a shame.

Alright I'm tired of using my heide knight sword +8 for 30 hours, is there another sword I can replace it with? I've got these places available
Black Gulch / Brightstone Cove / Iron Keep

oh, it did? I remember that I had problems summoning/invading people quite often.

I guess I mostly played with the same handful of people but I never had many issues. I didn't do very much invading though, just a lot of coop.

Our same group had a lot of issues playing together in Dark 1, but no issues in Dark 2 so far so I'm happy they brought them back. Purely anecdotal of course, but its been night and day. Also, using the Name Engraved Ring has made it very easy to avoid other people summoning us. It has happened a few times but its not a constant issue that means we have to hide our signs under pots and stuff lol.

I just visited a friend whom I'm pretty sure has had his PS3 on and playing Dark Souls the majority of the time it's been out. I actually think I heard one of the fans die while I was over there.

Hay, there ain't nothing wrong with that sword. It's an amazing sword. Your best bet is to look up the DS2 wiki for weapons and see if there's something you might like.

So many choices if you wanna go big weapon, small, or in between like a Katana (my personal choice). Hell, if I get bored of my Katana I used a regular ass +10 Dark Longsword (like the first weapon you find in the game) and it still destroys faces.

Game is murdering my ass. I've finally managed to kill two Old Souls but I can't even make it to the other two. Fuck
Smelter Demon
and
Royal Rat Authority.

I stock them up from merchants from co-op money even though I rarely use them, so I guess that amount to quite a high sum. I still have 15 or so of them left in stock.

Phew just finished maxing the rank for pilgrims of the dark. Boss was tough, took me a couple tries to learn all the patterns. Ended up easier then I thought took like 7 or so great lightning spears and killed the boss right when it split into two. Got my dragon chime, which I think is the best chime (got to love S scaling). Crazy high req though (50 faith). Have to say pyro/miracle work really well together. Pyro for the aoe crowd control and lightning for single targets. Now to complete drangleic castle.

Skip em man and come back later. You don't need either of those to continue playing the game and beat it.

Grats man. Ya I went up against that boss only once, and while I knew I could beat it on my next few tries, I felt like I needed to save my effigies for some crazy reason (well PvP, I guess) and decided to move along as I only wanted the Great Resonant Soul from rank 2.

I wanna know if I need to find any ember to get my weapon to +5 and above? I am using two +3 weapons right now and I don't want to use the only large titanite I have on them because I'm saving it up for a much better weapon just in case (Using the Halberd and Zweihander) so I don't know what it is like to upgrade weapons past +3.

No ember. You only need to find a fancy ember if you want to infuse weapons with elements. And don't worry, by the end of the game you'll have so many upgrade items (including the option to buy them infinitely). So if you got a weapon you love, upgrade it ASAP. The damage increase is incredibly noticeable.

Will poison damage stack? I'm trying to figure out what I want to infuse my two swords with (dual wielding falchion and uchigatana, tried the warped sword but did not like the moveset) and aside from the fact I only have access to a couple stones increasing poison damage sounds awesome.

Alternatively, where would I perhaps find a bleed stone?

How could you!? He's a cool guy... ;_;

Because I saw a big fucker standing in a building and a message that said "ambush" and something about a strong enemy... So I shot his ass.
