Reason why we have numbers in thread because it would help people to keep track of recently thread.
I haven't played Uprising so I don't know how prominent Phosphora is. I just remembered the last Trophy was a model-rip so thought this might be some top-tier trickery from Sakurai. Reveal her as a simple trophy and then everyone is surprised when she's a secret character.

Coming pretty close to the end of March now and no new character yet? I wonder if they'll even show another newcomer off at the next Direct in April.
They'll probably show someone off, they need to keep giving the game exposure.

I don't think we'll get a new character until the April Direct. I also don't feel like it will be Yoshi... I feel like they'll announce him at E3 even though it'll be the least hype character ever. They'll package him up alongside details about Yoshi's New Island (even though it is out and sucks in NA and EU, not JP though..) and possibly the Yarn Yoshi game if it even exists.

The Halo franchise has something ridiculous like 52 established OTs, individual games of which have managed pretty decent numbers. Pre-release, no, I think SSB4's managed a new record.

Technically we have 6 full threads of Smash 4, and 7th thread is going to be complete in a week or so.
I know it's unfair comparison but we already surpass Brawl Dojo thread. Also Playstation All Stars Battle Royale only had two full threads, along with third thread having about 16 pages (100PP). I think Smash Threads really beat Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 threads as well, but I'm not sure tho. I don't want to looking for marvel threads and count those posts. I would gamble and say this that Smash 4 have more posts than MVC3 and UMVC3 combined. I would appreciate it a lot if someone went back and count those thread for us.

My Google Translate is really bad but it seems like Sakurai is implying that the development process for this game has been rather fast.

I'm not getting too excited that Phospora has a new model for the Trophy, since she's one of Sakurai's creations I wouldn't be surprised if Kid Icarus gets better treatment in that regard.
Kirby had "new models" for its trophies in Brawl, possibly, although perhaps they may have been left-over from the canceled GCN game.
