Dark Souls II |OT2| Prepare to Vengarl

Anyone know how to get the
washing pole?
Got it very late in the game.
In a chest in Dragon Shrine, IIRC.

Any tips for the treasure under the wooden bridge in Huntsman Corpse? Starting to piss me off.
I left a message where you can drop off, haha. Try to see if it's there. Aim for that shining loot thing, edge in carefully. Wear the cat ring just in case. Once you grab it, jump off in the direction of that cavern. There's more loot inside, but there's an axe-wielding asshole at the bottom so watch out.

What's this games equivalent to the Pharis Bow for DEX builds? Scared to sink any large titanite into my short bow since it's so scarce in the first half of the game and I figure something better will come along eventually. Seems like they made a conscious effort to make it difficult to get OP early in the game with most standard builds this time round. Having to make it to Iron Keep before I can get any decent DEX stuff and upgrade it seems pretty rough. People seem to say the same about magic builds being rough at first. Wonder if it's something they'll change in a later patch - I remember in Dark Souls they didn't add a lot of the titanite that blacksmiths sell until a later patch

If you are talking about the one that is on the ledge above the bonfire, I kid you not, just run onto it. No jumping, no rolling, just run at it.

Can I say how insanely frustrating it is to come across an easy boss, that you know is easy and know all of his telegraphs, and yet still, somehow, end up dying 20 times on him?
Screw you, Old Iron King!

Sweet. Thanks.

Yep, but the dude jumps and then does this rolling animation right afterwards that makes me miss it all the time.

Run, don't jump. It's a lot easier if you just go to the 2nd platform above the bonfire (where that 1 guy tries to ambush you), and run for the hill. You will make it easily.

There's
3 chests hidden behind 2 hidden doors on the exit back to Iron Keep
in Sol.

To get to Luna
, it's near the 3rd bonfire in Bastile after the Sentinels.

Thanks!

Now one more thing, this damn Wheel
chair guy, I found him in the gutter, and I read he's in Dranglic and Shaded, but I swear I've looked everywhere in those two places and not found him!
.

Thanks!

Shaded
I'm not sure exactly sure, but I fell in a hole. Can't answer that. Sorry.

Dranglic
, in the room with the 6 doors and Sentinels, the door on the furthest left has a crumbling floor you will fall in.

Thanks!

In Drangelic, at the first bonfire, go right, into the room where all the stone statues and Ruin Sentinels spawns. In this room, there are a bunch of smaller rooms. Go to the room on the top left, there is a hole in the ground. Drop down there and you will find him. In Shaded Woods, there is a smaller hole in the ground covered by some planks, relatively close to where the scorpion boss is. Drop down that hole to find him.

Drangleic - he's behind one of the 6 rooms you can open with souls of the statue mobs (5 of the 6 rooms contain a ruin sentinel) In one of those rooms, you fall through the floor to a bonfire ("Under Drangleic" is the name of the bonfire) and he's down there).

Shaded Ruins - he's down a hole you fall through when you walk over the wood that's on the ground (2 spots, 1 right neat the giant frog thing).

I'm not sure how found him in The Gutter...he's not there.

When summoning NPCs,
if they die during a boss fight, do i miss the trophy then if i also fail? Or do i only miss the trophy if the NPCs dies, but i beat the boss?

So, I just totally unwittingly beat the game.
Killed Nashandra and then the game just ended. What happened to, uh, Vendrick?

again:
Any tips to consistently avoid that AOE fire breath when he flies off? I tend to conserve all my stamina for a sprint and generally follow his tail. Sometimes it gets me, sometimes it doesn't, even if I do the same thing. Sometimes I mis-aim my sprint for a sec or two and think oh shit, but it doesn't get me. Sometimes I do a perfect sprint towards the tail and it gets me. I just don't get it. My sprints work about 80% of the time I think, but that's not good enough.

And I'm not even considering summoning for this boss because it will only add omre HP/defense to the boss, and phantoms can get OHKOed way too easily.

Hunter black bow
, but I forgot where I found it. :( 288 AR at 40 dex, + 85 AR from the iron arrows. It's pretty good, served me really well.

He is in the Undead Crypt, right after the Velstadt boss. You dont have to fight him. He just walks around, but if you attack him some times, he becomes a boss fight.

*reads spoilered name of final boss I haven't fought yet*

I really need to stop doing that, goddamn. I don't think there are any bosses that are a mystery to me anymore. I swear I didn't set out to have all the bosses spoiled for me, it just happened. At least I don't know what they look like or what they do, just the names.

Oh, weird. I actually did
smack him with my sword a few times, but when it seemed like nothing would happen I just moved on, heh.

I actually
forgot the queen's name and thought this was someone else. You know, like the Earthen Peak boss. After I beat the game I double checked to verify, yes, the Drangleic Queen's name IS Nashandra!

You need to carry some
souls of the giants
. Otherwise you can hit him as much as you want he won't become hostile.

As long as their phantom is alive when the fight ends you're golden. If their phantom dies and then you either die or quit out of the game you can try again, though if you quit you'll have to revisit a bonfire to make their summon sign reappear.

You can also use Bonfire Ascetics to farm easy boss wins for them, according to peeps who've tested it.
No Man's Wharf is the easiest Lucatiel win, and the first boss of Brightstone Cove is the easiest Benhart win.

He'll still be streaking in circles down in the crypt whenever you decide to put him out of his misery. He's an optional boss.

I knew that this would happen if I partook of anything Dark Souls 2-related online before I beat it. I basically ignored the entire video game-oriented portion of the internet for a week after the game came out to ensure I could play it blind. That's why my first post in the original thread was stating that I'd just finished it.

So what's the best place to sunbro farm?

I'm dropping my sign in front of
smelter demon
fog in iron keep at SL114 and I'm getting about 1 summon per 5 mins or so

You need four giant souls to do any real damage to him

Good to know. Also, very cool touch how
beating the game sends you right back to Majula to complete any unfinished business. Gonna check out Vendrick and Darkstalker, as well as fight the dual Pursuers. Linger around a while and do more co-op too.

I've had the best luck there. Gonna see if Bl
ackstone Gulch
gets me any summons later.

I enjoyed going sunbro at the
Dragons Shrine
. Each run always bags you a good 25,000 souls at least. If you successfully reach the
Dragon
and kill him: jackpot.

So what's the best place to sunbro farm?

I did all 30 of mine at
Skelly Lords
. They're crazy easy bosses and people always love having someone take some aggro off of them when they're against multiple bosses.

So I'm doing a run using a bow 90% of the time and it's really fun. Got myself the Dragonrider Bow with 999 wood arrows among a small amount of other types of arrows and it's so nice to have a ranged option that isn't totally overpowered like the offensive miracles/sorcery. Though, while it's fantastic in PvE, it is absolutely garbage in PvP.

Does anyone have a list of who sells infinite amounts of different types of arrows? I know where I can buy infinite wood and iron, but I know there's like 500 different types of arrows.

Edit: nvm didn't read that you're SL114. I seriously doubt you can sunbro there.

So, this game isn't very clear on what you need to do. "Seek the King", well, yeah. Where?
I've lit the four primal bonfires and now there's nowhere new to go.

Other than the wood arrows in Majula and Iron from McDuff, Ornifex sells fire, Gavlan sells poison, Agdayne sells dark, and I think the sad ghost at the entrance to Drangleic whose name I forget sells the rest. I think Vengarl also sells infinite great arrows of some variety, but I forget what kind and I don't know if you're planning on using a greatbow.
