I won't sugar coat it. It's bad. That said, it's a consistent bad. I've only had sub 20 drops in the starting area and sometimes when the game is loading a new area.
If you have the disposable income, buy the PS3 version now and the PC version later.
Did I just kill an NPC?
Entering Doors of Pharros for the first time after defeating scorpion lady. First thing I see is this elephant warrior dude and I proceed to kill it with a bunch of soul arrows, but then I see someone like Gavlan heading towards me ready to attack, so I kill it too. Did I just kill Gavlan? Why'd he rush me like that?
Keep going, you should find Gavlan later in the cave. Those enemies look like him. I got really worried there too.
Not Gavlan! There are others of his race. For some reason they are not as kind as Gavlan. Gavlan is always friendly and always drinking.

Does anyone know if the parry window/timing for the parry dagger and target shield are different? I was on a roll with the target shield but can't parry shit with the dagger.

Each to their own but I like the combat in souls so why not experience the full speed version? Keep it LIGHT. It does matter IMO as you roll way better (farther) with a low equip burden percentage; mixed with ADP (agility) you can be mighty quick: Check it!

I've reloaded the game multiple times to catch a lizard in almost every spot I've seen them. They come back until you actually kill them and get their items.

Yes, those two you have to level the covenants up. You don't have to do Bell Keeper online. People said you can kill the red phantom that spawns in there. I just did it online myself. Also don't worry, it's still early and a lot of people are playing. I did bell keepers late around your SL and was getting invaded or invading pretty consistently.

PS: Black Gulch is annoying, but easy as hell. You can get through it running from bonfire to boss in like one bar of stamina.

It'd have been more managable if they were at least one-spawn-only enemies, but NOPE. WE RESPAWN MOTHERFUCKER. I'd be taking one on carefully, drained but successful, go to the bonfire to recover, open another, and WHY ARE TWO OF YOU AFTER ME!?
EDIT: I also fucked that part up entirely by mistake for someone I was summoned as help for. Oops, I THOUGHT it was OK to just run and open all the doors!

Red Eye Ring
They make the ground shake which destabilises you. A couple of other enemies can do that as well.
Hmm, another BS in Door of Pharos.. You don't get any souls for killing the monsters in their world, only get souls from the host themselves. Kinda sucky, since last encounter, the host was nowhere to be found, and I had to search him out! Too bad for him, I kicked his ass. Took two Flame Swathes to kill him, so he was a bit stronger than others.
so it still works like in dark souls 1!?

btw.: I can parry almost anyone in demon's and dark souls 1 with no problem, but here?
and it only gets better! managed to deal with them and had only one door to open (you know to collect the loot). so, I carefully fight those statue-guys (kill one from a distance and the other one close to the door) - finally, when it's about to trigger it to open, that shitty soul goes to the golem that holds a torch.
so, to open the door I had to respawn them all, starting from scratch.

You should be able to have some Soul Vassals if it comes to that, and the other one is
Ornifex, who can be found in the Shaded Woods (I think that's the name) once you unpetrify one of the enemies and get a key off him. Should be near the branch leading back to your bonfire, facing a cliffside.
And I'd seriously never, ever do this until some NG++ round just because it's really kind of just... stupid. Souls aren't a big deal relatively to acquire, not like a new spell or weapon anyway.

Before unlocking Ornifex, make sure to kill all the monsters in the room right before. I opened the door like an idiot and the basilisks killed her D:

Just finished 100% achievements earlier.
But you should be able to sunbro sinner ng++ with that level easily. Saw many signs down when i was there.

Yeah, I've done all of that. I've spent more than 15K, I've upgraded weps, I've lit the torch and have him the ember, all long ago.
I'll try to spend more and see of that helps.

Yeah good luck man. Was reading some people were having problems with it. I didn't talk to him for a while and I probably spent well over 15k before I even got the trophy. So it could be more.

Imagine the smile on my face when the fight lasted 30 seconds with my lvl 105 STR/INT build. Soul Geyser? 1/3 to nearly a half of his hp gone. 2 flame swathes when he paused to split after that and down the cunt went.
Easiest fucking boss in the game for me. I was anticipating having to burn through my Human Effigies to deal with it.
Onto NG+ with only 3 spells to collect before the platinum. Can i go straight to drangleic seeing as i've already got dem important souls? Going to do a proper speed playthrough of all the areas in NG+ and then speedrun NG++

You get awestones from NPC red phantom invasions. So if you just play through the game you'll get some. I wonder if red soapstone invasions give awestones.
I don't know about weapons. But someone here said he does sell those spells, but only in ng++
Which I hope is really true, as be hard to get those otherwise.
Yeah, I'm definitely over 40-50K spent now and a fully upgraded weapon. I'll head back to infuse something and check again.
