+9 Alonne Greatbow.

Sidequestion: why do destructive greatarrows do more damage than iron greatarrows, even though the former's attack rating is 180 and the latter 280?

Did the dark sign always have that animation? first time i ever used it because i was at 50 souls and said why not. It looks pretty cool.

I think I asked this before, but don't believe I got an answer.

Do the Belfry covenant and the Rat covenants, do those invasions/summons follow the same rules of Soul Memory restrictions, that are affecting normal co-op?

Just watched the announcement trailer again, and i noticed that
the guys with masks are not in the game, what gives?

You know i was ruing having to face
DarkLurker.
So many horror stories of being smashed over and over by this guy's OP attacks and split personalities.

Imagine the smile on my face when the fight lasted 30 seconds with my lvl 105 STR/INT build. Soul Geyser? 1/3 to nearly a half of his hp gone. 2 flame swathes when he paused to split after that and down the cunt went.

Easiest fucking boss in the game for me. I was anticipating having to burn through my Human Effigies to deal with it.

Onto NG+ with only 3 spells to collect before the platinum. Can i go straight to drangleic seeing as i've already got dem important souls? Going to do a proper speed playthrough of all the areas in NG+ and then speedrun NG++
eh its harder getting to him than killing him
4-5 great lightning spears later and hes dead
edit:above Chake, maybe their NG+ and up enemies
some
falconers
showed up in the beginning area on NG+

Okay midgame area, somehow explain to me the geography of how traveling from
earthen peak
to
iron keep
works haha.
I climbed up a tall towering windmill structure, defeated a boss, took a elevator even further up, and now I'm in a giant molten lava castle out of nowhere?
lol

thats my headcanon anyways

Gaf,

I have a question I summoned Lucatiel. I went to speak with Carhillion and I believe she walked over the edge of the dock I didn't kill the boss just the guy's on the boat. I went back to the bonfire and rested and her summon is no longer there is there any other way to get her back?

so i breezed through the game no worries no problems up unti this point ...
fuck smelter demon how the hell am i supposed to kill this dude with a melee build ?

That's odd, because they don't disappear just because they died. She should have had her summon sign back up when you went to rest, yea. I guess travel from one area and back, make sure you didn't lose humanity, you didn't mistakenly go to the wrong area to summon as that area is kinda long and winding...yada yada. Because otherwise that wouldn't have permakilled her. Hope it was just a temp glitch or something!

a bunch of places really, that lady that sells stuff in the first area sells 5 of them, some dogs and enemies drop them rarely and of course chests. But after you get a certain ring you don't need them at all except for summoning and invading.
I need them for
darklurker

Dodge to the left. No really, just dodge left.

Speaking of which, make it habit to always dodge INTO an enemy attack. The attack is more likey to hit you during an iframe that way.

Dodging forward is also something people should get in the habit of doing. It puts you in the best position to punish attacks, but you need to be damn sure there isn't a follow up attack coming though.

Question about a room right by the first bonfire in Drangleic Castle:

That room is nuts with Ruin Sentinels and stone knights, but after fight for a while (3 spawns) one of the torches in the back of the room lit up. I can't seem to get the other to light up? What is that? By the way, I'm far on now and into Amana Shine, so it's obviously not a required area.

The golems need souls to activate. Kill one of the little soldier enemies near it and it makes the golems move. That being said, I haven't seen any result of getting both torches lit so I don't know if it does anything.

same mechanic that got you into the castle.
and for me the room is the only way to go and I am not where you also are.

You have to kill an enemy near a door. The doors devour souls
So I went back to Drangleic Castle
and got the other torch to light. Nothing happened, I just had to kill an enemy directly under it. Disappointed.gif. It was pretty hard to do successfully and not get murdered by Ruin Sentinels so I expected a hidden door or something.

Check your shields.
Maybe you have one with hundred % fire resistance. If not
the dwarfs in the lockstone area can drop one.

I have a question about the S

of A
mana
:
I got to the non-boss fog door, and once I killed the temple knights there a mage appeared with no staff. She doesn't attack me, she only backs off when I come near hear. The game treats her as a hostile (I can lock on), but I decided not to attack her incase it's some merchant I angered or something. Is this supposed to happen or some kind of bug?

Probably a bug, sounds like one of the Priestess enemies.

GUYS WTF JUST HAPPENED

I'm on NG+ and
halfway through Brightstone cove, the Duke's Dear Freja attacks me! It climbed up a ravine and attacked me mid-level!

GAF, would you recommend magic or lightening for upping my claymore ?

It's hard to say without knowing what your stats are. You now have inherent lightning, fire, magic and dark bonuses which are based off of your FA/INT. If a weapon (I know the Claymore doesn't and it's only a C/C) has an element already attatched to it and (or) it has a B or higher scaler attatched, your best bet is to just to infuse it with that same element again.

Without knowing your stats, it might be better to just leave it at +10 or to make it raw.

edit: just saw your reply. If you go for an element, it's going to lower the weapon's physical damage compared to what it is now and add some elemental. It might look like adding those together produces a higher output overall, but if this game is anything like the first Dark Souls, it's better to leave it as physical most of the time if you have it to +10. The ele/phy weapons end up making two checks for defense, which overall lowers it's total damage unless an enemy is weak to a specific element. Many enemies are weak to lightning in this game, so YMMV.

Another way to look at it, is that you can apply resins to a purely physical weapon. You can't add resins to a weapon that has an element attached (but you can strangely cast weapon enchant spells on these same weapons).

By the way, I really enjoyed S_____ of A______. Epic as hell. The area is super atmospheric
and I liked the sirens singing their song (until I murdered all of them). I'm not even a bowman or mage, I just have a STR based bow and a bunch of wood arrows.

It's not even a hard area. Just take your time, go slow and you'll probably do it only once or twice.

The boss
though, wtf was that.

Is this thread title a reference to
80% of everyone wearing Vengarl armor? Seems like it is clearly the best, even base level it was better than Faraam +6 which is kind of annoying.

20 str 13 dex. Claymore is +6 no element right now. Don't know what path to choose.

Well what are you going for with your character? If you were planning on stopping your STR/DEX at those levels, just take it to +10, and make it raw. You can always reinfuse it again to something else later if what you ended up with isn't working out. Raw gives it a higher base damage, but with much worse scaling. It's generally better to go raw if you're only using minimal stats on a weapon that has somewhat low requirements.

Also, in case people didn't know what mundane does, it scales with your lowest stat. It has an extremely high scaler though. So if you had something like all 20's, you'd be doing some pretty ridiculous damage.

I had this happen as well, I'd bolted it back across the area to the previous hut after taking down the 2 mages and incurring the wrath of the two knights, so it was quite a (horrible) surprise to see one mage spring up from out of nowhere when I at last thought to have cleared the area. I just backed away slooowly towards the fog door and ignored them, I'd died too many times to invite more magic spam into my life, then again if they were indeed staffless then I had nothing to worry about.

Melee, but right now put 40 in vit and 40 in endurance. Will up str or dex depending on what's the most effective.
