He only invades you if you let him out, there's a questline if you keep him in. My guess the only way to make him stop is to murder him.

Amana spoilers:
That Hippo ambush though...he almost surprised me twice, I'm lucky I'm not still running that area. The boss, though, is a bitch if you let him back you into a corner at all. I watched a video on how to beat him which made it easy but if you let him charge at you and belly flop with impunity he hits hard.
 
So ng+ and beyond has new items in some chests, but does that extend to items just on the ground? Haven't seen a new item just on the ground yet.

oh, he was annoying but i simply backed away and killed him with arrows.

. That was quite the the whammy after the
Throne Watcher and Throne Defender fight
. Thankfully, the two people I summoned knew their stuff. I think I'm going to wait awhile before I dig into NG+.
 
Drove every halberd-wielding Mastodon to extinction in Drangleic Castle/Doors of Pharros looking for the Mastodon Halberd. No luck. Got the entire armor set in quadruplicate, though. What a waste of time. Can someone tell me the weapon's not all that great so I can feel better about moving on?

Really hate enemy extinction. I tolerate it at best and loathe it when it comes between me and a rare drop.
 
I'm kind of confused about what is necessary and what is optional to beat the game. I have (end game spoilers):

  • Talked to the
    Ancient Dragon at Dragon Shrine
  • Beat the
    Dream of Jeigh section
  • Discovered but not beat the
    Dream of Vammar section
  • Defeated
    two giants in Black Gulch

Now the cat tells me to
"take my throne" or something. Is that all I do? Go back to Throne of Want and that's the game? Do I want or need to find more dreams? Do I need to beat Vendrick?
 
I thought I had the Mastodon Halberd but it was just a Mastodon greatsword. :( Can I buy it anywhere or does it need to be a drop? At least I got a Gyrm Greatshield drop so I could use that for NG+
 
This guy has invaded me 5x today and every single time he fails to kill me. I bet he's mad. He's even more madder that I counter-invaded him and killed him.

Hey guys quick question.

I'm traipsing around lost bastillie and recently defeated the sentinenls. Hardest boss so far by far. Needed two peoples help, took !e two days haha. Anyway, I go to belfry Luna area next I think but I don't have ant pharros lockstones. Where is the easiest/quickest place to grab one at this point? Already used the merchant lady's one available. SL 60.

Is their any point in infusing the weapons? Seems like when I do it, they get weaker in certain categories. I am using the Drangleic sword now and it's been great so far. Upgraded it to the
Raw Drangleic
sword and it was actually weaker???? Any recommendations on infusing weapons? I am also using the Lightning Heide Knight Sword which has been great also.

i haven't bothered. i'd rather just buy pine resin or something for the extra damage against bosses.

Just made it there myself. The singing is creepy.

Nice to hear the boss might not be so bad, ready to start ending the game soon.

Infusing splits damage so it needs to go through 2 or more defence types.

It also reduces scaling so if you have high stats, it's usually better to have normal weapons.

That said, it's good to have certain elements that bosses are weak to and also it can be good for weapons with low or no scaling.

I think the black dragon sword thingy, +5 raw would have near 500 base damage without any scaling at all.

Buy the
fall damage reducing ring
from the cat, drop down the hole in the center of town, I think there's a lockstone on the way down, if not the area it leads to has some
and a covenant you can get infinite lockstones from.

Have you tried burning the wheel/gear/windmill in front of the bonfire closest to the boss fight with your torch? In the room with the bonfire, leave the room and you will see a gear or wheel rotating right in front of you. Go on the ledge to your left and burn the wheel with your torch and that
will eliminate the poison during the boss fight
. Helps out tremendously.
 
Why are there no cracked red eye orbs in this game? Why bother including an invasion mechanic if it's impossible to invade? The drop rate for orbs is stupidly low.
 
red cracked can be won in blood bros covenant arena battles

hoping they come to their senses on that and actually make a red orb last DS1

Hey, the invasion mechanic works great
against sinners and for blue spirits
. But, yeah, only way to get some red eyes in any quantity is brotherhood of blood and dueling your fellows, which is slow and tedious.
 
So whats the best one handed strength weapon? I used Bandit axe most of game loved it. Been using Morningstar lately.

Duels usually come within seconds of starting the search. The only tedious part is the Brotherhood of Blood is where the shit kid pvpers congregate.

You need a token of spite for each duel as well, right? Really didn't bother much with BoB, mostly did rat or bell keepers(rewards are sooo much better).
 
One nagging thing about Amana.
What's with the girl sitting alone? Not the singing girl, the other one. You could target her but I pressed Talk and she simply vanished. Did I miss something?
 
Just screwing around before I head into new game plus and found a weapon I wish I would have found before I beat the game. The Black Knight Ultra Greatsword that does fire damage. I'll be upgrading this bad boy.

Ashen Mist Heart
and a
Soul of the Giant
. I look up what to do with the
soul of giant
and all it says it gives you more damage against
King Vendrick
who as I understand is an optional boss. How the heck do I just beat the game? DeS and DS1 where not this cryptic as far as what you needed to do to advance.
 
OK I have a white soapstone symbol in my status bar and I can't put down my white soapstone. Am I being punished?

go to the kings door under cardinal tower, go up to the tree, complete that area, go to drangleic castles first bonfire, go to kings door on the left, defeat the boss(may be 2 boss battles if you haven't been there yet), win game
 
Looks like I'm at the end of the line.. does killing the final boss automatically send you to NG+ or can you screw around and choose when to start NG+ on your on time?

I've been using the Mastodon Greatsword. It's freaking amazing.

Before that I was using the Gyrm Axe which is a better weapon in terms of physical attack but it was way too slow for my liking.
