Sinners rise is really fucking annoying. Those suicide guys are really fucking annoying. I can't unlock the door because everytime I do a hundred of those suicide guys just bum rush me and instant kill me while I;m still in my animation. Is there some kind of tip for this area?

Take it slow and isolate them. Keep your shield up....or rush them before they attack.

I give up on sinners rise. I've died so many times in there. Is there some kind of advice? I can't kill those fucking suicide guys,t hey just gang up on me and I die too fast too do anything. It's not even fair.

Backroll from them when they do their jumping animation, then one hit kill them. Obviously wait for the last one to do his explosion before you attack, if they're ganging up on you.

I can't because they box me in. I'm pushing the lever on the gate and suddenly a dozen rush me and either attack or suicide, and I'm stuck in the animation still. It ends and I cna't defend or do anything because I'm boxed in.

I can't rush them because they just swarm me. They always fight me when I'm fighting those monsters in the sewers and I just die too freaking fast. A moment ago I was fighting a beast and suddenly one of them rushes in and kills me almost instantly. How am I supposed to do anything about that? It's not fun.

I found a way to cheese the beasts.
lure them into the small room with the elevator, make sure the elevator is sent back up. Get close to them so they will swipe at you, dodge out of the way and they'll fall in the pit.
Just make sure you lure them one by one.

Lure the big monsters one by one to the lift area and I fight them there then you can easily deal with the exploding ones.

TheSpaceBetween was faster.

I'm finding the worst part about Dark Souls 2 is how much I want to go back and play Demon's Souls, Dark Souls Prepare to Die and then Dark Souls 2 because of it. I want to New Game+ so bad but I want to start the other 2 games too. Ohhhhwwww.

I need details!

At the 3rd bonfire at the Shaded Woods there is a ramp down. at the bottom is a perfified lion, once unpertrified you need to kill it and it will drop the Fang key. this key can be used to unlock a door in the shaded woods that unlocks the last metchant that will allow you trade boss souls for weapons. She will be down a hole with the balasks.

I dunno how many times I ignored him. Will do that. Thanks

I mean, I didn't know there's a third blacksmith.

If you only have one branch left atm then I would unpetrify the lion warrior thats
blocking the entrance to the broken building (you can see a chest from the outside).
That will give you
some items and another branch
. Then go and unpetrify the lion warrior who is
on the cliff face as he drops the key to unlock the blacksmith.
There is a third petrified lion warrior who is blocking a large area that leads to the
Scorpian npc
but you have approach that area from the other side so I havent done that myself yet.

I hate to break it to you, but the problem is you. All of the scenarios you are describing can be avoided extremely easily by simply playing carefully. You don't have to run into rooms, you don't have to try and fight groups of enemies at once. Throughout all of Sinner's Rise you can pretty much coax those enemies out one by one. I think the only time you have to deal with a group of them is when you open the one gate and there are 3 right behind it around the corner. And even then, you can tag one of them (maybe two) with a long range option to break them away from the group so you can focus on one at a time.

Be careful, look around, and also realize that the enemies are always in the same place. If they get the jump on you once, okay, thats the name of the game. But if you walk through the same room a second time and a guy still jumps at you from around the corner, that's your fault.

honestly I just ran to the gate and managed to open it, following that I would run past everything every time I went for the boss, such a stupid area. They will kill you during several attempts but it's definitely possible to open the gate by just running past them in time cause that's what I did.

If you have the Bastille key it's even easier to avoid everything.

Just got to the Gutter. I don't understand the complaints with this area, it is basically like
Blighttown/Valley of Defilement
in terms of aesthetics, but instead they actually played heavily on the darkness and lighting with this area. It also feels legitimately creepy. When I entered I was like...woah.
Problem I had with The Gutter compared to areas like
Blighttown or Tomb of the Giants
is that there wasn't any real threat to speak of on top of the
pitch-black darkness
. Your only opposition primarily consists out of those
shrivelled-up Hollows
and a sporadic
hulking skinless dog
; the creatures from
Blighttown and Tomb of the Giants
were a lot more intimidating and nerve-wracking. I know of the (what looked like)
oversized ant queen
, but that's a one-time confrontation. The environment itself was fun to navigate, but visually it doesn't have any immediatedly distinguishable characteristics to it beyond everything being constructed out of
rotten wood
. FROM didn't really succeed in evoking that similar sense of "this place is
a dank and filthy cesspool
" and sadly I didn't feel as anxious when I set foot in that place (even with the ambient background noise resembling
a beating heart
), as much as I prefer these style of locations. Black Gulch was a big improvement aesthetically though, but unfortunately it was far too short. I was also more hesitant to approach those creepy
giant tunnel worms
or whatever alongside those disturbing
hand-shaped leeches hiding in the oil puddles
, and I certainly didn't expect encountering
two muscular, double club-wielding Giants
in that spacious hidden cave (the sight of which already made me a tad paranoid).

I'm quite fond of No Man's Wharf too for what it's worth, but it's obvious it was supposed to be similarly
pitch-black dark
over there originally.

I pull every lever, light every torch, open every chest, and jump off every ledge I come across.

That's the True Dark Souls Experience right there.

So you're having issues in the flooded area? It's actually kind of easy to make it past there. Did you pull the switch to the next area already? You can just run past everything, and make it to the end of the narrow bridge. The dumb bombers will just follow you up there, and some will even fall of the bridge. The others you can finish with arrows or melee.

I wouldn't bother taking on those giant enemies, it's a big hassle. Just run past em.

Dragon Chime is very good Miracle/Hex build. Very fast too. You need to beat optional boss D
arklurker
though to get it.
Thanks for the tip. I have beaten that boss, so i have that item. What about for sorcery, what is the best item for that? My INT level is 54, while my FTH level is just 16.

Hell yeah, placing my sign right before
Mytha
, seems like a great place to farm sun medals. I get summoned all the time here, and the boss is really easy.

Staff of Wisdom or the Staff of Amana

Staff of Amana is easier to upgrade, Staff of Wisdom is stronger once fully upgraded.

Thought I'd try the Gargoyles this morning. Went in to the Belfry Luna - started having a lovely chat with that little fella by the door, got invaded while talking - couldn't join the covenant because i was invaded - cast a pyromancy to defend myself from the invader, aggroed the NPC - no Bell Covenant for me ;_;

Would a Bonfire Aesthetic respawn the NPC or is there an easier way to get him back?

Is he dead?

I don't think so. I still
got invaded long after I beat the game and ran around doing optional stuff. No matter where you are, he finds you :p

He only invades you once at 5 or 6 specific locations. When I first looked it up I thought he would randomly invade for the rest of the game. That would've been pretty great/shitty, depending on your point of view.

That is some disgusting trollish shit from FROM if it never ends. It's kinda brilliant but fuck that. Glad I read about it. I don't need that crap.

Go to the belltower and kill the boss, get the key and then you don't have to even worry about getting bum rushed as you can just open either of the top doors instead. plus youll make life way easier for you in the next section.
