Also, what's the general consensus on bellkeeper pvp, am I supposed to follow these bow, be nice, don't heal rules or can I just go all out?

e: if yes, what are the rules actually? lol

No rules to invasions IMO.

Rules should only apply when you summon people to fight (dragon/pvp stone), or the two dueling areas.

This guy got his hand stuck in the door as it opened, thought it was pretty funny.

Regarding these Souls of Giants - I got the one in Black Gulch, but I don't understand exactly how I'm supposed to get the other three.

I just got to A
ldia's Keep
. Are they ahead of me, or behind?

This is what I'm thinking too, it doesn't make sense in this kind of stuff imo. I was just wondering, the first one I was summoned to attack bowed and waited and was nice.

e: died very nicely too

Go to kill, if you can use sabotage and subterfuge even better, if you can poison them do so, if you can hide do it, if you can break their equipment do it and laugh at their misfortune, if you can mock please do it, it's a free for all, and it is awesome.

The way I see it, if you're a part of the Dragon covenant or doing one of the dueling areas, you should be polite as it's for dueling.

Invasions/Bell Tower/Rat covenants? Yeah fuck the rules. Especially since a lot of the prepared people in the Belfry will camp the spawn points and attack as soon as you appear.

EDIT: Just seen your edit, you don't have the item you need yet. you'll know when you get it

Do you have
Ashen Mist Heart
yet? If you do then you need to go to Forest of Fallen Giant's and
interact with the 3 giants found there (they look like trees). 1 of them is in the are just after you fight the Pursuer, 1 is behind the Kings door and 1 is near the are you first meet Pate. At the end of each of them you'll find a iant soul on a corpse

Gotta protect that bell bro.

Get in that ass and save the bowing for glorious duels.

This game, man oh man, this game.

Couldn't play since I bought it at release 'cause the R2/L2 buttons of my controllers were all mushy and broken. Finally decided to buy a PS4 controller and I've been playing all night. So good!

Haha, sweet

Invaded a few already, lost once and won the others and I have to say, this is a fuckload of fun. First time ever I'm doing pvp in a Souls game, I can see why it was such a big deal on DkS.

Gotta enjoy it here and now though, the PC version will probably have tons of cheaters

Just go in hard, because if I'm invaded by a bell keeper I'm not going to hold back while he waits for reinforcements.

And by going in hard as a bell keeper I mean sit back and wait for a friend to show up. If you're invading Belfry Sol you can just wait on the top of the ladder until someone else appears if you want to be a real asshole. The host can't climb up without you getting a free hit in, and it's the only way to the roof.

I've been blue-invading people in NG+ today, and something weird happened. When using the blue eye orb, it's a bit random if you get in your local area or some other area. I used it in No Man's Wharf and got summoned to Belfry Sol, where the host was already invaded by two grey phantoms. I could hurt the grey phantoms and they could hurt me, but we just hunted down the host. 3 invaders vs the host has to be a really shitty feeling for the host.

It's boring when people rush through the boss mist when I invade someone, but at least I might be able to kill them while they try to enter. I have to invade more in the areas where you can't easily enter the boss room, Heide's tower is too easy to rush through.

So in other words, I will have to progress further in NG+. Perhaps Huntsman's copse will be nice.

Ok, so if I say no to this dude (er, temple something with an a spoilers, late game stuff)will he go
off and start killing everyone back at camp
?

I think the demon of song is oficially the creepiest thing they have designed. Holy shit.

One of my favorite designs in a Souls game. Such an awesome looking boss.

The bell covenant ring works the same way - it seems to prioritize invading the bell you're closest to, but you can invade either one from anywhere.

Oh yes, I think it's nice. Invading in more varied locales is great. The weird part was the 3 phantoms versus a single host, I thought. I wonder if it would be possible for a red phantom to invade as well? 1 red, 1 blue, 2 grey all on one host?

Oh! Okay. I know what you're talking about. I thought those were the things I was looking for, I just didn't know what I needed to access them.

Anyone know if the Dragon Tooth strength scaling goes up when I level it? Seems like it has potential but I would need to dump a lot of Twinkling Titanite to find out.

In the first game you could summon two reds and have another one invade via orb. Perhaps DS2 keeps a slot open for "classic" invasions as well. I haven't experienced the 3 v 1 yet myself though, and I've done a ton of bell invasions.

There's nothing more fun than casting Chameleon in a high place, waiting until the other player to be near/under you, throwing out an "I'm Sorry" carving and then going back to Chameleon before they notice and then watching them look around in confusion.

I'm playing Dark Souls right, right?

As soon as I get home from work, I need to finish getting all my
scales so I can get the Dragon Stones.
Then I'm going to level the shit out of Faith and Intelligence, and grab the
Moonlight Greatsword.

i've had red invade while I was bellkeeping. Killed the red then killed the host while they were duking it out.

So I go into Belfry Luna to try and do my first ever red phantom invasion. Can't because I'm immediately invaded by a grey phantom. So I Chameleon, the invader runs past me, I Flame Swathe him and take out nearly all his health. He's close by so I figure I can run in and hit him with my katana, right?

Except no, he manages to get off a giant-ass greatsword attack and kill me before I get my attack off.

How exactly is it that a Str-based weapon has a faster attack than a Dex weapon? I don't understand how this game works sometimes. Even if he had a ton pumped into Adp and that affects the swing time, shouldn't a Dex weapon (especially a katana) swing faster anyway?

Those 4 legged creatures in No Man's Wharf are a thing of nightmares lol... and extremely annoying to fight. Any good tips on that one part where there's like 6 of em in one spot?

Yay, Sun Sword +10, thanks to all the people who tried to do harm to my goddamn bell.

Now, any reason to infuse this with poison? Attack drops to 122 from 175, and str and dex scaling both drop to B and C, but it gets 140 "poison effect", which I guess is... Good? Can I easily revert it back to normal Sun Sword +10 if I don't like it?

You can easily revert it and only lose the poison stone. Seems like it would be a waste on a weapon with such good scaling, but I don't know.

You can
use a pharros lockstone on the contraption there and it will light the place up making them flee.

I just use a separate sword solely for poison.

Awesome sword. I personally did not and would not infuse it. As ^ said, use a separate wep for poison.

Dont you still need to go through that building to get past all the blockages? I just rung the bell there so Im not sure if I missed another path or not

Go up the first set of stairs, with a guy at the top throwing stuff. Halfway up take a right to a building with two archers on the roof. Face the building and turn 180, theres your lockstone place.

Woah. Didn't know this. I've always aimed in 3rd person camera without lock on.

How so? The boost in cast speed is so insignificant.

Yeah, binoculars actually work pretty well. Catalyst in left hand, Binoculars in right. You can keep holding down R1 and aim while you shoot. There's no reticle; your spells pretty much go straight and center.

I wouldn't say that the lion mage set is required for caster pvp either. At least, the hexer's hood is more valuable to me for the extra cast than the small speed boost from the mage hood.

Is resonant weapon much better than dark weapon?
