Dark Souls II |OT2| Prepare to Vengarl

I invented a new game for myself within Dark Souls.

I took off all my clothes except for a jester hat, entered into a blue cathedral sparring match, and starting laying down prism stones and spamming the "I'm Sorry" carving. Most of the time I just get killed, but a few players would join me in the rave for a little bit.

Plus we have already a deterrent in this game. Now armor have requisite so you cannot walk at level 1 with havel armor.

Edit: Plus you get the ember to modify weapon much later. It's not like the first one that you can make a run in the catacomb and have a flame weapon early.
This was all that was needed imo to balance early PvP. I don't understand this soul memory shit. What if you've done a load of co-op early on, does that count?

Any boosters to not get cursed/poisoned/bullshitted in the rat authority fight? I can do fairly well against the rat dog when I can get past the Damn minion rats with out going full loss of health spamming re gen curse shit of fucking shit rat decon piss poop garbage pharros doors of semen.

semen curse is bad for this fight

Help?

No, i hate it because it fragment too much players of DKII. Now you can invade normally but what happen in 1 -3 months?

Very few armor sets has any noteworthy requirements. Is it 20 str for havel? Pointless.

You can easily get the ember from Iron keep in half an hour. Or you could just use any of the already infused weapons laying around. The road to a +10 weapon is shorter than ever.

That said, I'd rather get invaded by twinks than have no invaders at all. Not a fan of soul memory.

This is new to me, how you can go to Iron Keep in half an hour with so many area and boss? You need to branch for depetrify too

You need an attack that will let you kill them all with one swing, or at least that's how I managed. I think I used the Old Knight Halberd's 2-handed R2 attack. One spin and all those little bastards were taken care of.

I tried that fight many, many times with a Falchion and never could get all of the rats killed without ending up toxic.

I'm offline, and it takes a shit load of time to get the titanite chunks you want.

Also, the road to the Iron Keep is shit for speedrunning.

What is going on with this game?

Since yesterday I have been having trouble to be summoned and to summon other players. But if I step on foot inside Belfrin Luna I get invaded right away.

I did disconnect during 2 invasions before, but I did not get any warning of me being banned. I also tried using the Bone of Order, but the game won't allow me to use it, which probably indicates I'm not actually banned.

This is such a mess. I have to constantly quit the game and start it again to make the online work. Huge step back from Dark Souls, in my experience. What is more strange is that it was working fine until yesterday. Here is hope they will somehow fix it soon.

Lets face it, people hate soul memory because they can't twink the shit out of a character and then go invade other people's games risk-free. There's no other reason to dislike it. If you don't mind fair fights then you can invade all you want, you just can't give yourself overwhelming odds as easily any more.

I don't like soul memory and I never invade anyone ever. I've lost at least 300,000 souls on my faith character *that I can clearly count* over the past week. I also like to farm souls and buy everything from the merchants even if I don't need it. I'm that guy. I don't like the idea that these activities which don't make me stronger in any way are putting me in a higher "tier" and potentially making it harder for me to link up with other people.

Same boat here. I never invade anyone. So Soul Memory is just something keeping me from being summoned to help other players.

If you guys have any issues with summons, quit/save to title screen and log back in. Fixed it for me.

Done it twice in a row now. Still not working.

I've got a player status question please.

I'm at
the shaded ruins
and I keep getting cursed, which nullifies my humanity and doesn't allow me to summon other players. Is there a way to protect myself from this cursed thingy? I am very low on human effigies.

I never played the previous Souls games online because of that horseshit, it was just too disheartening getting invaded by twinks. I play DS2 online all the time, and thanks to tons of practice in the Bell Keepers and Rat King covenants I routinely destroy invaders. They come in and see a guy dressed like a Gnome wielding a mace and they think "Easy prey" right up until the point I smash the shit out of them :). Feels good man.

Lol that opinion will change in about 8 months when it dies down.

No real foresight went into the Soul Memory mechanic. This will probably be the best summoning/invading will get.

edit: it does go "unlimited" in NG+

You just reminded me that this is the next boss I was supposed to tackle. Thought of the last time I got totally owned by them and I just wanted to stop playing. Decided to give it a try anyway and damn

Managed to do it right away, easily. Thank you, based Sun Sword +10.

e: the next two areas seem horrible though...

As a sorcerer, the
Shaded Ruins
has given me the most grief thanks to the
Lion Clan dudes and their crazy magic resistance
. Thankfully their
range is crap even by melee standards and I was able to go all backstabby on them
. Then got completely trolled by
one of the giant curse vases by rolling into it and crashing into the cavern below
.
Up yours too, FROM.

Managed to get by it and comparatively the
Doors of Pharros
and
Brightstone Cove (at least the first part of it)
were a breeze.

There's curse resistance on armor/rings, but the best plan is to just stay away from the curse pots or break them as soon as you see them. Try to fight the lions in open areas so you don't accidentally back into one of the pots and get cursed. And breaking them doesn't give you curse status like poison pots, so feel free if you haven't been.

Running a embued lightning heide sword +10.and can kill them in one hit. Just not all of them at once

My criteria is places you can go without having to defeat a boss. So you can even include the Great Hollow in there.

Then these are your options in Dark Souls 2.

Forest of fallen giants
Heide's tower of flame
Shaded woods
The gutter
Black gulch
Grave of saints

You can tackle any of 6 (7) bosses as you first one. You can skip a lot of bosses/areas and there are a lot of options as to which way to go.

That's where I'm having trouble and wondering if my sorcery is just crap or not. For melee I've been using the magic mace, but doesn't seem to faze them either.

Was up until 3am last night trying to beat Ancient Dragon because I thought he dropped
Ancient Dragon Soul
. Was pretty pissed after i finally killed him.

You need a fragrant branch of yore for shaded woods, pretty hard to get one fast. Other 3 areas I was thinking about as well, but you need the cat ring and a pretyy substantial amount as health. Good option for NG+ though.

Kill dragonrider, open path to copse, kill skeletons, kill snakelady, done. No branches needed, though you get two in harvest valley! You can run past most of the enemies, how is it shit for speedrunning? (directed at other poster)

Pretty much the easiest set of bosses on any path in the game. Lots of materials found in Harvest valley.

They're just really tough dudes. I pretty much exclusively backstab them, it just takes patience in order to take them on one at a time.

Blasting the
basilisks
are no problem with spells, though.

Also you need only to kill 2 of the Old Ones for you to go to Drangleic Castle

You can get a branch before beating any boss, so it fits your criteria.

You need a master key for the ones you mentioned. Swings and roundabouts, innit?

Fashion Souls GAF (I know you exist), can anyone tell me if the Moonlight Greatsword is the same colour as the fake Bluemoon Greatsword?

Nailed my sorcerers eye colour to match the Bluemoon Greatsword, but the final goal is obviously using the Moonlight Greatsword.

Cheers

Bummer.

Does being naked help with jumping or is that a placebo effect? Cleared out the furnace room then died jumping to the Zwei twice in a row now. I know there are a few more tricky jumps to make to get all the loot in that room as well :/

Wahahaha dark covenant spoiler:
I made it through all three stages back to back with no deaths, it's so pathetically easy as a pure sorcerer. Darklurker dies with 2 Soul Geysers!

edit: And with that, my pure sorcerer playthough is complete. 46 hrs
