PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | March 2014

Bit Trip Runner 2 Vita is great. It isn't constant 60 but the dips are slight and don't affect me owning the shit out of the levels so far. Address most of my gripes with the first game, and I can play it on playstation dpad and buttons.

Good to hear! Bought on sale but I've yet to play it and I liked the first one on Wii :D

Btw I'm almost at the end of inFamous(1). I've dropped and resumed this game at least 3 times but now it's finally clicking on me.
Now I'm hoping for that inFamous Vita rumor to come true...

Two is miles better in terms of gameplay and controls. A lot more polished imo. Traversal is faster too so it feels better jumping from building to building.

The biggest down is that there is almost 0 platforming missions.

Indeed it is, the framerate is pretty smooth to me and the game is responsive.

That's great. I already have the game (PS+), I just have to find the time to play it...

I don't think the lack of platforming missions will be a great deal for me, in the first game they were rare and very basic.

Not that folks will miss it, but may be late on Drop roundup today. Still traveling and not sure if will have net access.

Im in the mood for some japanese weirdness-goodness, and I have 10 bucks on my wallet, any recommendations for the vita?

Well I'd recommend Killer is Dead, but you're better off waiting for the Steam release in a couple of months.
There's Chulip and Black Knight Sword for PS3 if you're interested.

Why does the store (or at least the european store) show only 22 Vita demos on PC and 32 on the Vita in the "demo" section? Is there a way to see them all?

so gurumin is playable on the vita?

Do you always comment about The Drop of the week jvm?
I have done so for several weeks. Since the OP isn't as obvious a place to look for the weekly releases and we don't have the weekly threads anymore it's just been a side job I try to do every week.

Does someone have a link for this?

I wish the OP would include links to these weekly updates and what not.

Would this be the appropriate thread to ask for recommendations?

Not too long ago, I bought a $20 PSN card, preparing for the release of Mercenary Kings, but I had no idea it was gonna be a PS+ free game, so now that that's the case, I don't need to buy it, and I got about $21 on my account that I'm not sure what to do with.

On ps4, I already the following: Super motherload, steamworld dig, injustice, tomb raider, metal gear solid 5, infamous SS, FEZ, escape plan, flower, flow, doki doki universe, and of course all the PS+ games that have come for free so far.

I was kinda eyeballing stuff like Strider, and Towerfall, but I don't know if Strider is any good...and if Towerfall is local multiplayer focused, then I don't know if it'd have much to offer me.

Anything else cool come to PS4 or PS3 recently that I should consider?

Towerfall really sucks as a single player game. Strider has a demo, so give that a try.

I thought Strider was too hard, personally. I never even finished it because I just wasn't having fun with its difficulty. I may get back to it eventually.

Trails in the sky or Gurumin?

hmm but I need to download it via my PS3 and then download to the Vita?

Check your download list on Vita and it should appear there.

Trails in the sky or Gurumin?

Both.
Trials in the Sky has yet to go on sale but XSEED need every cent to get all that text translated.
Gurumin got a price drop and is worth the price just like Trails in the Sky.

Just an FYI, this will always be the answer to any question you ask about what game to get on your Vita, in this thread:
Both.

So I had dropped an order for a Vita 2000 screen protector from Amazon in case the friend that picked one up for me wasn't able to get a screen protector to go with it. Amazon let me know a day or two ago that it has been bumped up to release-date delivery, for April 08, 2014. Not sure if that means anything.

And that would be why I never apply screen protectors. I learned that lesson years ago hahaha. Those damned things are a lesson in frustration I hope to never learn again.

I would stop using them if they weren't vital to solve issues with friction.

Resistance: Burning Sky or Call of Duty BO Desclassified? :P

As a Steam GAFfer, I'd blindly say both.
As a VitaGAFfer, I'd say neither.

I beat this on Normal and had a BLAST, I loved all the boss fights except the last one, but it was a fun ride regardless.

No offense and I'm hoping I am wrong with this, but you've been too pampered and spoiled by all these AAA games...

So I just booted up the song editor in Miku. I was thinking of making up a thing for a Babymetal song, seemed like a good fit. Holy shit I was not ready for the level of depth.

Perhaps, but I play indies even more than I do AAA games, so I don't know. I didn't think Strider was unbeatable, but I felt like the difficulty got in the way of my enjoyment of it, so I just stopped playing.

I started with extreme songs on Pdf ... I was not ready

Having done every hard song with at least Great, I really thought I would have a good chance with most songs from the get go but I can only get a Standard on a few songs here and there.

I can "clear" most songs without a dropout but I'm somehow stuck around 70-80% most of the time which is preventing me to get at least a Standard score.

I really thought the jump would be a bit more easy but seems like I need a lot more practice.

How do you feel about the LBP level creator?

Yeah, the difficulty jumps in PDf are crazy. There are still a few extreme songs that I still have Standard on, and I've had the Japanese import for almost year and a half now.

About that...

Is it just me or are the DLC songs completly wrong about their difficulty rating?
Senbonzakura comes to mind and it feels at least one difficulty higher than the difficulty you are playing on =/

Not as crazy as this. I mean it's good, but judging by the options here it looks like it will probably take me the same amount of time it did to beat all of the levels as it will to create one, between all the choreography and laying down tracks.

Ugh. Now I have to read the actual The Drop? Boo.

The Drop is just to see wtf is releasing this week, it's not that tiresome.
Here let me do it for you since you're too much of a lazy scaredy cat:
Well not much to interest me outside of SMT: Raidou on PS3, and seems Ragnarok OA isn't getting a demo for the Vita?

Hyped for SMT Raidou this week, if only because it means we are most definately getting the second game, and the small chance that we get DDS and/or Nocturne
