What I'm guessing is that they'll just do full release in Japan and offer this as DLC at the West.
I hope so
rather not spend another 40 on what is simply an expansion

Should have been PS4/PSV with cross-play. I'm kinda over playing action games on a small screen, but the game probably won't get localized anyway.
I don't mind playing these on portable, but I wish Sony could somehow invent something that would let me do reverse remote play, since we obviously aren't getting VitaTV in the west...which does exactly what I want.Should have been PS4/PSV with cross-play. RO Ace, SS Delta and now another "updated" version...
it's like saying to PSP/Vita fans don't buy day one and just wait for the complete edition.

Hopefully save game transfer will work indeed. I guess that it does.Exactly.
Hopefully save file transfer is in and unlocks full access to online stuff.
Oh, like that, i understand. When you said "terrible" i thought you were talking about previous games (as in games being done before Toukiden)Yes, but Soul Sacrifice also the first game in the series (I don't actually know who owned it lol) but it have terrific post release DLC support.
Ah ok, i didnt know about that game. What do you mean with "went against the traditional expanded re-release for a home console port."? Was Strikeforce a PSP game that wasnt released on console? No, their first was Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce, which went against the traditional expanded re-release for a home console port.
That happends to other games outside of PSP/Vita too. Fighting games in particular. Game Of The Year editios as well, even if its just added DLC and the game has already been patched (if the first version had some update patches released).RO Ace, SS Delta and now another "updated" version...

Yeah, it seems very common this generation.
Man that Naginata looks awesome. I guess that's the new NPC as well? I hope save data transfers over, that would make this a no brainer for me. Can't wait.
I get the want for a hammer but there is quite a lot of room for the Naginata to play really differently to the spear. They are different weapons irl and were used very differently....I think I'll just wait for Toukiden 2
We needed a hammer more than a spear with a blade on it.
is there even a GS equivalent?
I was using the spear in the demo thinking it was similar to the lance. Nope :/
Looks like there's no hammer equivalent either. wtf
So every game should have the same weapon classes as MH?is there even a GS equivalent?

The game moves at faster pace, and except for LS that works identically somehow, there is no "equivalent" here.
yep and no problem, I was just asking. So every game should have the same weapon classes as MH?
I felt there was sufficient weapon selection in the original and they're adding more, what's the problem?
I don't even bother making the distinction, hahah. Every weapon type looks like Dual Blade levels of a sugar rush.
Well the monsters move differently to compensate. If you were using a Great Sword at the same speed as in MH in Toukiden you'd get destroyed.I don't even bother making the distinction, hahah. Every weapon type looks like Dual Blade levels of a sugar rush.

Yeah exactly, I'd be happy to see it deviate more and create more of its own personality. I think weapons like the Naginata and old fashioned firearms that fit in with the traditional Japanese aesthetic are fantastic choices. Can't wait to see how they play.Outside of dual swords, I wouldn't really say anything in this game is "Dual Blade levels of a sugar rush". Even if the game operates at a generally faster pace than MH, I think there's still a lot of deliberateness in the way fights play out that the two games share. Personally, though, I'm rather glad that Toukiden ultimately has its own flow and weapons and stuff, regardless of how much I want bowguns to be in every game. If all the games were so similar to MH, then what would be the point of even having these different games?
I don't doubt that. I'm just projecting my unreasonable wants.Outside of dual swords, I wouldn't really say anything in this game is "Dual Blade levels of a sugar rush". Well, I just bought the game last week rofl. T_T It doesn't sting too much since I bought it for less than msrp. Wonder if there is anything extra for original owners like carrying over our game saves?

Plus, firearms.
That sucks. Well, we got a year before it comes out in the west. I regret unwrapping the game a few nights ago. T_TI bought it last week for MSRP T_T
Naginata isn't a lance, so I don't expect it to play like lances in MH. I can't judge either since we know nothing about it but I hope it plays interesting since it's kind of a mix between a polearm and a blade weapon.I'll wait to see the move list before I judge the lance but it's not exactly an exciting weapon. Plus ranged is super boring in Toukiden (a little less so in MH, but still boring)
I'm with ohlawd. I want a hammer or great sword. Probably the two "skill" weapons in MH and they're nowhere to be found in Toukiden. The only thing that makes me sadder is the fact that this game will have a dead online community on day one. Can't really blame Tecmo if they don't localize it.
Well tbh it sounds like you want it to be more MH and less ToukidenI give respect to switchaxe too I guess, and hunting horn (but it's basically a bard with a hammer)
guess I just care more about awesome fun weapons than fitting into the games aesthetic![]()
In an ideal world we'd have a MH on the Vita where it would look and play better than on the 3DS but... just thinking about it makes me sad haha.well, yea
It's the only hunting game outside of MH that I've enjoyed and it's no surprise since it's the closest one to MH gameplay. I'm not buying a 3DS so this is all I got mang. Nintendo and Capcpom shit in my MH sandwich
That said I did really enjoy the chain and sickle but using one weapon for most of the game really burned me out. Wasn't really a big fan of the rest and ended up getting stuck on phase 6 of MP due to lack of servers/people playing.
