Shit.

Basically just lost 24,000 souls because I took a risk with a fog door, which turned out to be the
Smelter Demon

:(

That one took me by surprise as well. I was thinking, "This little door just leads to a new section, there's no way a boss would be here... fuck!"

Correct. Do not talk to her at Aldia until you've done her 3 summons.

Grats on the B
enhart
trophy.
thanks, I think I'm going to skip the ng+++ rotten. I mean, I'm still at his ng++ form and tried 4 times already without success, he just oneshots me with everything and takes forever to kill.
who should I try if not him? Smelter Demon ng+?

After I beat the Last Giant I went back to fight the pursuer and he wouldn't show up. Is he gone for good? Are there any other weapons or armor I in these areas? What the well in Majula? I want to go down there but I don't want to die lol.

Well the Pursuer doesn't need to be there or anything, the stuff is under the area where the fight took place - it's just only accessible after the fight, I meant. The Halberd is right around there too if you missed that. The well is for later. Be patient. Try prudence.

Anyone wanna give me a hand with farming the Shadow Armor? I Offer rewards for item trading. Weapons, items. Just let me know.

What's your soul memory at? I know it supposedly goes out the window for NG+ but I'm still in NG. I've finished the NG+ version of the fight you're doing though, via Ascetic.

I never tried Smelter with Lucatiel but I've read that it's god awful. Of course, you could get lucky and have that glitch where Lucatiel for some reason never enters the fog door after you. In which case, no need to worry about her.

Jesus christ I'm really stuck against A

D
ragon
. Trying to do the
stick by the tail
but always end up disoriented at some point, causing me to die when he does his
air flame attack

Also, when can't you trigger running exactly ?

Got damn the craftsman hammer is beautiful

Nothing to write home about but I feel it could be used in a few good trolling vids....might make some

I'm a little over 4 million, lvl 167. I beat the boss, but I had to use the Ascetic to respawn them all in an attempt to farm the armor set.

If you drained your stamina to 0, you can't sprint again until it has refilled to full, so not being greedy is even more important in this fight than some others.

I'm at 5.5 million and SL 187. I'm down to try. I'll put my summon sign down as close as I can to the ship on the pier thing. I'll edit this message again to let you know when my sign is up. Also Name-Engraved Ring may help. Let me know what god to set it to.

Chaos Storm x2 and he was dead for me lol. While he was airborn and shot laz0rs I used Flame Swathe. He was really easy actually, didn't even split.

As pure melee without pyro on the other hand....

Thanks guys, I was able to take him down with your suggestions. I brought Divine Blessings to replenish my spells and wore a Sainter's Hood for extra casts. Used flame swathe, and that rekt him :)

What does Infusion do for a weapon's upgrade path? Thinking of infusing the Arced Sword with Lightning

It'd be cool if you could stack every damn effect into one weapon. I want an UltraGreatsword that does Physical, Fire, Lightning, Magic and Dark damage :D

Talking point: Bonfires next to boss fights are great, and while having them far away with enemies inbetween adds challenge, it's not fun to endlessly make the same run to the fog gate

Thank you. I still always die because of timing fuckups though.

I picked up on a couple of things that helped me a lot in this fight:

First off, don't lock on. Might seem obvious but it makes it really difficult to track him in the air so just don't do it. Try to keep your camera looking up towards the sky just a bit before he jumps.

Second, pick one spot to attack and stick with it. For me it was the toes on his back left foot. Every time the flying fire attack happens when you are on that side he will rotate a little counterclockwise, so it's pretty easy to run in the right direction even if you miss the tail for a split second. To add to this, if he does the flying attack where he tries to crush you make sure you run back to the same spot you were attacking when he comes down. You don't have to do this but it helped me a lot with staying oriented so it might do the same for you.

Lastly, learn exactly how much you can get away with stamina-wise. I used a fairly stamina light weapon on this fight (2-handed Uchigatana I believe), and I always attacked the same number of times. After the flying fire attack I would hit the toes twice with normal attacks, then after he stomped his foot I would hit three more times before preparing for him to take flight. Getting into a rhythm like that helps a lot.

Hope that helps!

Alright, I'm having enormous amounts of issues with (Dark covenant spoilers)
the phantoms leading up to, and including, Darklurker.
I'm a pure melee build (soul level 146), and would like to try and re-spec to something good so I can beat the shit out of them.

What stats should I pump my levels into, and what spells should I focus on? Any help is appreciated, especially if's like a dummy guide (my gaming skills ain't what they used to be :<).

The hardest bosses in this game are the
Royal Rat Authority
and the
Ancient Dragon
. By far. Maybe the first one is not that hard but i'm unable to summon phantoms to help me (is this happening to anyone else?).

I had that classic Souls thing happen with the first one. Got battered like 15 times last night, slept on it, beat him easily this morning.

Can someone explain the doors which say
Produce the Symbol of the King
and
Requires Greater Souls

Are they NG+ content?

You can't summon in there because it's pvp area.

You can get forcefully summoned at any time.

I've been invaded twice by a guy (same guy) using that trick with dual crossbow like weapon which name I can't recall. It is so cheap. It is not even fun.

I mean, it was fun to make a video and post it on Youtube and get some views, but to actually play like that... would you even think of yourself as a actual good player? It is just an exploit. *sigh*

Man...even your allies are jerks in this game. My character, "Valor Morghulis" helped beat that big knight, who was dropped off by that big bird..anyway, after I beat him, I waved farewell to the ally who I was fighting with, he then shot me with the catapult. It killed me instantly. After all that hard work, I didn't get any souls for beating that boss. Aghhh.

This is terrible but I can't say I didn't laugh. A lot.

Might have been an innocent mistake. Maybe he/she had activated it and didn't know how to disengage or... well... I know I killed a few players using the ballista (not after he was defeated, though!) trying to hit the Pursuer and ended up actually hit a phantom or the summoner. Feels bad. :(

What armor did you guys finish the game with? I went with the Looking Glass Knight Set. The helm is a little weird but I really like it overall.

black leather armor most of the game. just swapped out thief mask with vengarl helmet and the helmet you find beside targray. sometimes alva helmet. wish i could wear the whole alva set, but my load never allowed me to. currently running with luca's armor and vengarl's helmet. i love the armor, fully upgraded now. not too heavy.

I usually don't use double Bastard Swords, just for this picture. Went through most of the game (obviously) before I found the chest piece I wanted (this character is not Siegfried, by that way :D ). Also fond of the hood to hide the lousy selection of hairstyles.

Is there actually a metal chestpiece with an actual cloak?

The first time I tried out the ballista while helping as a summon nothing happened. So I went in to join the fight and the ballista went off while I was in front of it. Lag can result in some pretty funny deaths.

I'll admit... I killed the host on purpose a couple of times.

Well, fuck this shit. I'm going to consider these few bosses I didn't beat NG+ content. Thanks for all the good advices guys.

Any must do things before I head to NG+ ? Except stocking ores.

What's the best light armour for a Str/Fai build? Not interested in poise or loads of physical resistance, just something good and light that looks nice. Currently wearing the set from that evil cleric woman that you invade, which seems okay.

Can people actually block Illusionary walls by putting a message in directly on top of them so that hitting A always clicks the message?

I can't tell if I'm being trolled by the message making me not able to open the wall or being trolled into thinking there is actually a secret there.

Hexer's hood will increase INT and FTH by 1, and give you extra casts. I like the look of the whole hexers set as well.

Yeah, I was wondering that too. Found a few in places for obvious potential illusory walls, with high ratings, but nothing happens

Trolling.

No idea, but you can just save/quit. Go Offline and then check again.

So where the well is the wheelchair dude ? I talked to him in
Drangleic Castle
. I want to kill him for the dragon chime but he's not there anymore.

Finishing up my NG+ run, after that it's a hassle-free run toward the platinum in NG++.

As I've been summoning dudes and being summoned in turn on my current run in order to acquire all the trophies, I came to realize I'm not so sure I like the co-op aspect of the games unconditionally.

On one hand I feel it's an extremely cool and unique way to include co-op in your game, but on the other hand it also completely ruins the boss encounters. With help summoned, any boss strategy quickly turns to: Attack when he's not facing you for free hits. Even worse for magic-type characters who simply stand away and press the R1/RB button. Yawn.

Another point of contention is that the trophies in the games have nothing to do with the difficulty that the games are touted as having. It's simply a lot of time consuming tasks to gather all the items in the game. How about "clear the game while in the Company of Champions"?

I dunno, maybe I'm getting old and grumpy.

If you were really getting old and grumpy you'd start ignoring trophies like I did years ago.

The trophies in this game kinda suck. Same as the other Souls games. At least there's no rare farm involved this time.

The trophies are too easy for DS2. Doesn't feel like a challenge. Stuff like Pure Bladestone was annoying but it seemed fitting and made it so satisfying to get.

So I'm about to finish NG+. Should I kill every NPC before doing this?I forgot about that in my first playthrough. Any good drops?

Pyro trainer woman drops a fire seed, and you'll get 9 effigies for clearing out the witch house in Things Betwixt. Killing NPCs will give you sin which carries into NG+ now, which will allow you to get invaded by blue sentinels
