Goddamn. Lost 500k Souls on a routine splatter collection. It's amazing how apt this game is at punishing even the slightest hint of complacency/cockiness. 'Oh, didn't bother to put your Ring of Life Protection on I see... COMEDY OF EXTREMELY UNLIKELY ERRORS!'

Ah, well. I wasn't exactly using them, but it still hurts like a bitch.

What's a splatter run? And what mistake lol?

Fucking
Dark Lurker!!!

I'm pure melee, or at least I was until I ran into this bastard. As a result I upgraded my pyro to +10 and when I let loose flame swathe I get a nice chunk of damage.

The problem is that its a single use spell, but with a ring I've got I can use it twice. Still, I'd love a second copy of this spell and supposedly the little guys in the bell tower drop them but I've been grinding those bastards all day without any luck.

I had also tried reallocating my points but that went terribly.

What do you say gaf? Any suggestions?

If you really just want to blast him you can
respec into Faith and chuck Lightning Spears at him.
All the joy of the boss fight will be gone when you beat him though.

At this point if entering the Konami code killed her instantly I'd up up down down that bitch.

Anyone else find the
Pursuer boss fight
arena very beautiful? I wish there were more like it. Also, where is our snow environments?!

Has anyone run into a corrupted save file on the PS3? Friend of mine is running into this issue. Game starts but somehow doesn't recognize the save file, so there is no "continue" prompt. The save file is clearly there in the XMB folder.

Any tips on how to fix this?

if your friend has PS plus just move the file from there on to your PS3.

I've had to do that to my current file and I did it for a few games where my PS3 fucked up (TLou)

Is there a way to drain the
corrosive acid pool
in
Drangleic Castle
, because unless I'm missing an illusory wall or something there's
an item and a chest
and they're both not worth bothering with. I always forget to take off my rings or something so the price of repairing them far outweighs the meagre rewards.

Shrine of Amana
is a jerk.. Was totally discouraged when I died because of how far I had gone.
It's quite a nice farming area though.

Watching PVP videos with the Executioner's Lance...ah, so cheap. Glad I've never faced anyone with this thing, it's going to become really popular.

It's quite easy to deal with to be honest. The people that use it really have to commit to attacks. O.o They're very easy to roll backstab.

I still have huge problems with Katanas though. The stunlock and phantom range (especially the running R1) on these things is broken. :(

NG+. Just a casual saunter back to my bloodstain in Huntsman's Copse, mang. It was reasonably close to the bonfire with only a few manageable enemies in the way, so I didn't think of putting my RoLP on, which is reckless no matter how you cut it.

BUT OF COURSE, that douchebag Murphy and his law reared their ugly heads and I brain-farted; shit went very bad very quickly. I was just terrible at the game at that point and it punished me. Should have quit while I was ahead. Also shouldn't have been so stubbornly dual-wielding the whole time.

It hurts just to recount it.

Not as far as I know. Just strip naked and get them. There's no enemies to deal with, I think there's an archer above you should kill first though.

It isn't. Ive used it a few times, before it got "big"

Miss one shot on that thing and you will get fucked. Especially by these magic guys.

Ah yes - I've actually noticed that this game punishes swiftly for recklessness and rushing. That said, Murphy is indeed a douchebag.

Literally just lure the 2 animals out of it and kill them, then take off your armor, grab the stuff, and put them back on. It isn't that stressful to take your armor off when there's nothing there to fight. The way you've worded your post is slightly confusing though, have you already done it?

2 animals? There's a few crossbow guys around the place, didn't notice any animals.

I've got the loot from there on both my playthroughs so far, just wondered if there was a way to drain the area as there often is in such situations.

So i'm on my Quality build character, and he's gonna be the one i (try to) get all weapons and armor on. I beat all bosses and am collecting stuff endgame before i start NG+. What are you guys doing for souls at that time? Co-op seems very dry, not looking to use ascetics if i don't have to.

Got past the twin dragon riders that wasn't too bad. The orange goop broke my stuff so I've got to fix that before I move on.

Why are the boss designs in this game so unimaginative.

75% of the fights are in a small (usually circular) arena with a slightly larger than humanoid enemy.

Only up to the
Iron Keep
, but I don't see this formula changing. Disappointing cause I really enjoyed bosses designed with the environment in mind on top of simply knowing when to avoid their attacks and strike.

Is it a door in the long hallway with all the large enemies strung up from the ceiling? If it isn't I'm thinking of somewhere else.

No way to drain the acid. Ghazi must be thinking of Aldia's Keep

Well that was a weak ending for this game. Dunno if I want to ng+ just yet. I parctically did everything that the game had to offer. Still loved it in general. Just have to finish the luticel and jugo quests.

As someone who now loaths the second half of Dar Souls (post Anor Londo/Dukes Archives), does DS2 stand as a better game (excluding the DS1 DLC.

Thanks, yeah I think Ghazi you are thinking of the two skinless dogs in Aldia's Keep :)

imo, the second half of DS2 is just as dreary as DS1 with the exception that a couple of the areas a prettier and we get away from the moss coloured stone of the earlier game. I think most people think the second half holds up well though so I'm in the minority I imagine.

Only having one ending
seriously put a damper on my immediate desire to replay the game. I mean, I still want to, I'm doing it right now and enjoying NG+ for other reasons like new gear and enemies, but unlocking the other ending was always a huge motivation for me.

Very much so, in my opinion.

we will find out about the PC version soon it seems

That all sounds good. It looks to meet the minimum benchmark set by DS1. I'm not looking for anything climactic as Sen's Fortress+ O&S, just need some more Souls (as in a Souls game).

So i played the first dark souls for a bit, the movement feels somewhat different compared to 2 i dunno. Also a lot of small things are refined overall in 2 like how items are not added straight to your item belt, you can rate messages without an item, Etc. Anyway after i get all the trophies in 2 i think i'll try platinum the first two souls games, i think i'll try to be a cool katana bastard.

Can someone help me in Dragon Shrine? These fucking enemies are slaughtering me. The dragon statues are like impossible to kill. They stunlock me to death. Why teh fuck is nobody having any issues at all in this area? Super strong enemies everywhere.
