this needs to be a stage in the Wii U version.
They would be better hyping the game released in June for example. Or the July one.
You... don't you remember what happened at Christmas? The eShop servers would explode if that happened.
Honestly, not sure I want a demo. I know I'm already getting the game no matter what, so... But I don't think there'll be a demo.
that's what I'm saying. Smash could be that game.

Yes yes, all of the die hards are going to buy the game, demo or not... but a lot of people aren't die hards (yet). A 4 player demo that has 1 stage, Mario, Link, Mega Man, and one other "guess" character (where no one could play duplicates) would be a great hype builder.

It is a shame that it starts right when I get off work. Maybe I could sneak out a bit early so I do not miss anything. Although my hype is pretty low. I expect many veteran players and stages to be revealed with the possibility of one new character and stage.
I thought that until they said they will announce a "launch window" for the game. It would really strange to define June 2014 or July 2014 as a "launch window". Not to mention that they should now already a clear date if it is coming so soon.
Then make now or in May a special Bayo 2 Nintendo Direct and show SSB4 at E3 and a SSB Nintendo Direct in September.
Also, it seems bayo2 will be out in japan on summer ( as said in the last jap direct) , maybe bayo on july and smash on October?

I know, right.. already playing the 3DS remake again now...
I just played the 3ds version last week. Still a fantastic game. Finished getting all the medals!
if it wasn't coming soon I don't think they'd announce anything with E3 so close nor do I think they would be having this Direct. they could announce Summer 2014 launch window with the release date announced at E3.

Totally. If you hit all the switches, the train that you happen to be fighting on crashes into the base and everyone gets KO'd. It would be amazing.

Launch window is different than launch date. I'm assuming the 3DS and Wii U game will come out months apart, which would be a smart thing imo. I'm going to guess the Wii U version will come out by the end of the year, sometime in October, and the 3DS version to come out early 2015.
I would say it might be for a new feature, presumably a working online multiplayer mode lol.

Think ideally you'd want to reverse that (hit all of the switches or else everyone is KO'd) to encourage variety in the matches. Either that, or you have to make the switches incredibly hard to miss.
How about a new feature like ... (bi-)monthly games?
Launch window and Wii U aren't a good match in the same sentence...

As awesome as this would be I feel like it's pretty unlikely. By the time E3 happens in June they'd only have a month or so for marketing and pre-ordering. I can't remember any time they've given that short of a window between a firm release date or month announcement and the actual release.
To coincide with the reveal of Wonder-Red!

Like they did with NES Remix or Dr. Luigi (if I recall correctly). I know that'd never happen with a tent-pole retail release, but it's fun to hope

I've never been a Smash fan. Probably because I'm not a big fan of couch-coop gaming. I just never played any Smash
Never owned a GameCube, and I missed on Brawl. The new one, it just looks fun, it's not your typical fighting game. I like the premise. I just hope there will be good (lag-free) online mode.
But. I'm really looking forward to it, I hope it comes out before December...

We did have a Spring release window for Mario Kart 8 until February... it's not as entirely unlikely as you think.
If they're ahead of schedule with regards to development of the game I could see them having a Summer release window. Let's not forget that Summer to Nintendo extends far beyond August and goes into September (*cough* Wii U OS summer update *cough*).
