Can we talk about how good ZSS looks in this game? God damn.
I'm still wondering about Ridley. I feel as if the part of me thinking he may still be a playable character is constructed out of pure denial.
I've updated my roster with the new character reveals!
Totally didn't expect Greninja. I figured Mega Evolutions would be enough X and Y representation... I'm still kinda sour about Pokémon Trainer being cut, and Charizard and Greninja by themselves still feels odd to me (I view starter Pokémon as a set, as they were portrayed in Brawl under Pokémon Trainer), but I'm warming up to it.
With Sheik's reveal as a separate character, I removed Impa. Also, I added Chrom and a Rhythm Heaven character to be in line with the recent rumor. If it really is from the same source that leaked Villager, Mega Man, Wii Fit Trainer, Little Mac, Mii, and Pac-Man, then I think it's believable. Time will tell, I suppose. They got Greninja right, after all. Though Greninja wasn't specified, since they only said "Pokémon from Pokémon X and Y," and while that sounds fake, I can imagine someone with inside information who may not be very familiar with Pokémon saying that if he doesn't have access to the official character names (remember, the same source called Villager "Animal Crossing Guy" prior to E3).

I'd appreciate it more if her model was taller. Maybe about as tall as Rosalina.

Actually, this made me realize that in Brawl, Metroid couldn't actually crawl, but his girlfriend could. Then, I chuckled.
Also, about the Brawl Mario Bros arcade level not looping, the Balloon Fight one does loop horizontally in Smash 3DS, so I guess the game could always check for a certain velocity treshold and being in hitstun to register horizontal KOs. Actually, it sounds like one of the few walk-off (walk-around?) stages that could be more fun by virtue of not lending itself to cheesy "camp near the edge" tactics.
and for the Ridley doubters:
Not the same character.
I think Ridley could go either way at this point. Sakurai was trolling but can't tell how or who he was trolling.

Actually, that was the entire thing about adding Cranky as playable in Tropical Freeze. Nintendo made a huge deal about playing as the original Kong.

Not necessarily in the sense you are using the word. Ridley is capable of regrowing his body naturally. He got blown up into just cells but the scientists rescued him from being washed down Samus' shower drain.

It'd be sad to see ganondorf go, especially since Link and Zelda kept their TP selves. It's likely ganondorf is just a secret character again. It's also likely, but unfortunate, that he's keeping his captain falcon moveset.

....the trailer had a pokemon powering up what looked to be a beam. Greninja wasn't revealed until after the beam was shot. Given that Mewtwo shoots beam it was basically Sakurai trolling people into thinking it was Mewtwo.

Other M Ridley is a clone though, not the original Ridley. They even have fairly different designs. Not like it matters though, considering how conductor Link and Wind Waker Link seem to be considered the same character here.
Still, the biggest oddity about teasing Ridley as a boss is that he already was a boss in Brawl, in fact, Ridley had two boss battles. So, it's not like including him in Smash as a npc would be something new.
Did you read my post? Rosalina in the first SMG was fantastic, and as far as I remember and I'm pretty sure somebody else has said in this thread she only had a cameo in the second game.

No, he was a clone. Melissa Bergman says they cloned him and every other Zebes baddy in that game from cells on Samus's suit. That's why the Ridley in Other M starts out as a baby instead of regrowing into an adult.
A clone is not the same as the original person any more than an identical twin is.
