God damn Durante. Straight plasma.

This thread is great. How is it I've never been in here before?
Agree with you on FPS. I cannot play with keyboard and mouse no matter how much I have tried. Absolutely hate it.I absolutely hate Keyboard and Mouse for FPS games and don't understand how anyone can find it fun. You have unrealistic control, turn speed, and aim. For this reason I will never get a shooter on PC. Even if I use a controller, everyone else will be using KB. This is why I skipped Titanfall. KB &M also kills immersion for me in shooters. I can't put my finger on why. But it does.
Also, RTS is the best genre and needs to make a comeback.
The Souls games are terrible (I haven't played Dark Souls 2 but I've heard its more of the same). The combat was absolutely awful. It felt slow and imprecise and the best way to beat bosses was to just spam projectile attacks at distance. A cursory check of my past opinions on framerates would show I'm the farthest thing from a 60fps or bust fundamentalist but even I had issues with the treacle like controls on both Demons and Dark Souls (PS3 and 360 versions respectively). I only bought Dark Souls because of all the hype saying it was much tighter but the gameplay was still pretty awful. The games also suffered from a super generic universe, poor plot and dull graphics. About the only redeeming features were the interesting boss design (visual not gameplay) and the sense of challenge at the beginning.
All the God Of War games (even the PSP versions) shit all over them from a combat perspective.
Oh shi -
Everything else I can brush off as opinion, as where this seems outright false to me. Especially considering GoW combat boils down to do the same three button combination for every single encounter and you win every difficulty. I'm not saying Souls is the deepest, but it's a hell of a lot deeper and more timing based than mashing the same combo over and over.
What's that gif from. And, yeah, exactly.
Inazuma Eleven is badly composed. The idea is great, the execution is so poor, bring back Captain Tsubasa.
this is literally the opposite case, gow has the three attack buttons, the three attack buttons in air, the three attack buttons plus the triggers, and all the secondary weapons. Also take into account that certain enemies have certain strengths, like not being able to be grabbed or blocked, or the gorgon stare shattering you if you jump. While Dark souls has heavy attack and light attack, with only timing being the strategy, you just mash the same two buttons with a specific timing. It does have wildly different enemies as well, but none that really make you have to change your style...that being said, Dark Souls is so much more...satisfying? Beating a boss in Dark Souls makes you yell "fuck yeah!", beating a boss in God of War makes you say "awww yeah".
Both are so different though it doesn't really make sense comparing their combat though
Angel Beats.
It's an okay anime. Sorta has its "Key" moments but it flops a bit.

Disagreed. Everything else simply looks bad because of how GREAT this game was.
Pretty easy to make polished games when you are remaking the same bunch of games over and over, almost never taking risks. I've played all of their games, (worked for them in the late 90's/early 2000's) and think they make great games but they most certainly do just rehash... actually rehash is probably too kind. They make the same game with a few new touches. You do that over and over and of course you're going to have polished games.
Totally disagree. Apart from the gameplay itself being 'fake stealth' (seriously, a guard sees you, the screen shines, you hide and he's like 'hmm I must be high') and not even including knocking on walls, hiding bodies in crates/lockers, under boxes etc, yet still relying on tacky '!' instead of making an immersive, minimal HUD and onscreen prompts is bad enough. But the fact they charged so much for content that is smaller than many free demos and cheaper DLC is a joke. But again, most people have either of these opinions so hardly controversial.
I'd love to know how many of the so called Souls fans played the original game on day one. Having never played a Souls game before (nor having read or watched walkthroughs), Demon's Souls was a very tough game for everyone. Yes, you could master it, but you are speaking shit if you call the game easy.
It's pretty common for people to finish a tough game and then whip their dick out and say they breezed through it. And this earns you nothing by the way.
A+ post
Most of them are considered to be mediocre though. Most of Sony's first party games would be considered mediocre of outright bad if they weren't first party games.
As I said I have only ever had an issue with Steam, never had anything else hacked/taken over including my MS account, Sony Entertainment account (used on bluray player), Google and many other website accounts. Not controversial opinion, if you can get hacked twice, then there's something wrong with your web browsing habit, try using an antivirus first before blaming Valve.

No one is muddying shit, if Valve had a major security leak such as stolen account credentials, they would have alerted us and told us to change the password. And the reason why your Steam account was taken over, is mostly because a Steam account that contains your credit card info, is definitely more interesting to the hackers than your mail or Sony Entertainment account. As I said I have only ever had an issue with Steam, never had anything else hacked/taken over including my MS account, Sony Entertainment account (used on bluray player), Google and many other website accounts.
I run various antivirus / antimalware software, I am very careful with how I browse the internet. Perhaps you should get all information before insinuating someone doesn't know what they are doing.
A google search shows Im not the only person its happened too. Maybe, just maybe Steam was at fault? This was years ago keep in mind, and a contributing factor in my shift to console gaming.
I will go back and reword the original post to make it more controversial/explain my point better though I'm not sure what you want, I'm pretty sure me called the steam app shit will be controversial to many people.
If you want to discuss further take it to PM, lets not muddy the thread.
No credit card info (though the Sony Entertainment account did have details linked to it for renting movies), both times the account was taken over the person just deleted my friend list, changed my gamertag and just played games with their friends in Russia. That's the second time you have made an incorrect assumption. No one is muddying shit, if Valve had a major security leak such as stolen account credentials, they would have alerted us and told us to change the password. I'm not saying it related to my problems but I believe this is when I tried to access my account and found it had been hijacked for the second time, it was in 2011 anyway. Why are you coming into a thread with controversial in the title and getting annoyed, it's not a personal attack on you and if everything agreed with it then it wouldn't be a controversial opinion. Go to PM if you have too.Wikipedia said:The popularity of Steam has led to the service being attacked by hackers. One notable attempt occurred on November 6, 2011, where Steam temporarily closed the community forums, citing potential hacking threats to the service. Subsequently, on November 10, Valve reported that the hack included a compromise of one of their customer databases, potentially allowing the perpetrators to access customer information including encrypted password and credit card details. At that time, Valve was not aware if the intruders actually accessed this information or discovered the encryption method, but warned users to be alert for fraudulent activity.
I'd agree with that. Technically they're usually spectacular, but as far as design and gameplay, they just miss the mark for me.
This. The only good developer they have is Naughty Dog. Most PS exclusives lack on what makes videogames fun imo. Most of Sony's first party games would be considered mediocre of outright bad if they weren't first party games.
half life games are very boring

I think the Assassin's Creed series is good.
It's nice to know that even in a list of such disagreeable things, I can find something I 100% agree with.Fallout 3 is better than NV.
I'm with Durante in saying that a no console future would be better for the gaming industry and consumers. Given how many game developers are moving towards PC, I would say that the gaming industry probably also agrees, but have to cede to backwards thinking. One console future would be better for gaming industry and customer. . Development cost will be extremely reduce and everyone will be playing without missing out exclusive . Competition will be even more fiercer as everyone can resource on one platform and you have everything to compete against .

The companies that are going to move there are probably already moving there anyway. Everyone else would inevitably move to PC.Not that what PC gaming has done isn't impressive. But the reality is developers would move towards cell phone and tablets over PC if consoles suddenly died.

lol with a list that long I'm sure people will find at least one thing they agree with! It's nice to know that even in a list of such disagreeable things, I can find something I 100% agree with.
It is extraordinarily expensive to develop for 2, 3, or 4 platforms all at once. As a result, the benefits primarily extend only to large companies that can afford that kind of divvying up of resources. Nintendo attempted to provide something that actually justified the hardware investment, but it has increasingly become less significant as developers shy away from forcing themselves to lock their gameplay to what is now effectively non-standard hardware (Wii Remotes, Kinects, PSMoves).Nah, there's still tons of money to be made on consoles so why would they?
The reality is PC is not the future. They cost too fucking much, and regardless of how used to upgrading cell phones people have gotten, no one wants to upgrade something they spend a buttload on every two years. But neither is consoles. More likely gaming will eventually move to something like a PS Now situation, where new games are streamed live to us. The only reason you aren't seeing that at a faster rate (people have been talking about it since 2005) is that the internet still isn't fast enough.
Note, I didn't say I wanted that. It's just what I see happening.
