That would be an cumbersome special attack for a fighter, but then again DeeDeeDee's projectile seems like it can be reflected back in the same manner.

I gotta wonder if Smash U has some huge secret since we will know all the characters months before release thanks to Smash 3D.

I can't see Sakurai dismantling a character like that. Plus I would hardly say those moves are snakes.
Ganondorf should never use a sword unless they use his Toon self. Give him his tennis ball projectile (chargeable to different levels a la OoT) and ground pound (air to ground version as well) and that's neutral and down B fixed already. Work in some fun new things for his attacking animations (but keep Flame Choke & dair) and he's well on the way to being redone and fitting a new niche.
I don't know how I feel about the Tennis Ball spell being a homing projectile. Just make it so that it has a powerful burst effect the longer it's charged initially, it travels slow at first and it can be swatted back and forth between Ganondorf and his foe. Buffing his standing jab's speed back to Melee levels so he can reliably swat it when it reaches max velocity would also be very appreciated.

Only way to unlock anything in either game is through the Wii U version, and you have to connect your 3DS to your Wii U to get the unlockables in the 3DS version.

I imagine from now until release we will be seeing more 3DS shots with Wii U shots here and there until Smash 3D releases and then the site will shift to an information site with the PotD becoming only Wii U shots.

That's true, but it wouldn't fit with Snake's aesthetics with realistic looking weaponry.
I'm not against the idea at all, I'm just saying it probably won't happen.

This. I mean, smash 3ds has an exclusive mode (smash run) and it will reveal all of the chsracters before the wiiu version releases. It won't stop me from getting it but i do feel it needs something or somethingS to set it apart and make it feel worth 20 more bucks besides it just being in HD.
Question is...... What is it going to be? Unique game mode? Announcement of exclusive dlc? A ton more stages? Alt costumes? Exclusive boss fights?

Well the lead controller they have in mind is the Wii U Pro Controller. It may be great, despite it being wireless.
