Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U Thread 7: How Can My Smash Brother Be This Cut

Sony tried taking on Mario Kart, too. That didn't work out either.
To be fair, they had Modnation Racers out before that, and that was a much better game.

Still not at Mario Kart level though.

On pure visuals SSB4's absolutely squashes the previous two, no questions asked.

That said, it looks like it has Brawl's dumb edges, so Melee's might still win.
Definitely this.

This is pretty much what I wanted for Final Destination.

- Takes place in space? Yes.
- Has a double world like thing from Melee's FD? Yes.
- Looks badass like Brawl's FD? Yes.

I love it, but it has ledges that seem similar to Melee's Battlefield. >_>

Although looking at it again, it seems the right edge is like Brawl's Battlefield while the left edge is like Melee's Battlefield. So it is uneven?

Nintendo are acknowledging him, he and some Kremlings appeared in Mario Sports games, and we're going to see Kremlings in Smash Run. I think that's pretty decent recognition, even though they're not in the DKC games anymore.

I think K. Rool's last appearance was back in 2008, which was quite a while ago. I'm pretty stoked the Kremlings are in Smash though, that was unexpected.

As long as there are a good number of new arrangements, I'm all for it. If the arrangements (or originals) are good, I'm satisfied.

Definitely, but there's something off about it. Mario Kart has always been more fun with 3 other people and local split screen.

Sonic Racing games are the opposite. Items are never helpful 'enough,' and the tracks have to be known a decent amount ahead of time to compete. First time I've played every Mario Kart track I knew where to go, in Sonic that hasn't been the case. Especially for Sonic Transformed. In a few stages whenever you're in the air mode the track is sort of hard to track, at least on the first few go's on it.

At least that's been my experience with friends.

I think once that team nails that they can really compete with MK, until then I think MK will always be a better game.

The underside of the stage seems a little weird. It has what appears to be quartz-like crystal formations, and also some weird tree root type thing coming out of it as well.

Proof of Dark Souls in Smash: Crystal Caves on the left, Lost Izalith on the right.

Man, this FD looks completely awesome! I'm in love with the background lol.

Both flames are from Charizards. Blue one from Mega Charizard X, red one from Mega Charizard Y.

Confirmed: Charizard X is exclusive to Wii U. Charizard Y for 3DS.

And Dart.
Fucking Sony cuting fucking Dart.
They already had the character already done!

Nintendo. Buy Legend of Dragoon and give it to Camelot.

Man... Legend of Dragoon was amaaaaaaazing, I still haven't even beaten it.

I probably have to play it again since I don't even remember the story now.

Adding on to this, it seems Battlefield is also uneven? Hard to tell with all of the foreground stuff on the stage itself.

Though Brawl's was as well, but only by a small amount.

Except that Link and Toon Link offer extremely different play styles. Cole and Evil Cole were basically just a change in color, since every character in PSA played the same.

The blue is clearly ice, as it forms crystals in the logo.

Watch one of the trailers, like the Greninja trailer, it is fire.

Cole and Evil Cole shared maybe two or three attacks out of fifteen or so.

Not really.

When combined, the blue of the Wii U version is on the bottom half, which is more spiky than the top half which is more fiery.

However, when the logos are separated, they are both fiery and spiky. There's obviously something going on with the red and blue color scheme, but we can't immediately attribute it to fire and ice. And the crystals on FD looks nothing like ice crystals anyway. Just dark blue crystals. Specifically, techno/futuristic dark blue crystals. If anything, it seems to be an organic vs. inorganic thing going on. Considering how one half of FD looks like roots, and the other stone/technology.

Ice and Fire.

Also interesting to note that Smash 3DS comes out in Summer and WiiU in Winter, corresponding to each game's element.

Holy spit.

I don't know how I feel about that, now. I've always been a hot over cold kinda guy, and yet the better version has the ice motif. Sakurai, what have you done? D:

What if they're fire crystals? Did you ever think of that?
