Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U Thread 7: How Can My Smash Brother Be This Cut

You know what stage from Xenoblad would be awesome that no one mentions?
Frontier Village. Multiple levels and little Nopons running in the background. A beautiful stage!

I wouldn't mind Frontier Village, but I'm hoping for the plain old Gaur Plains. Now I got the area theme stuck in my head.

Nah it'll be a heartbreaking tale of him raising his chicks with his partner when Samus' parents start doing research on his children. By mistake the mother of his children thinks they are trying to harm them and attacks resulting in the children and partners death. A grieving Ridley is empowered by the space pirates and exacts his revenge.

So.... The Baby all over again?
I can dig it

Gaur Plains is OVERRATED
I'm ok with Sword Valley too Kriken *high five*

Valek Mountains at night though. We could start in a blizzard during the day, then as the fight continues we'll go into the night with the gold glow of the crystals.

The lighting would be phenomenal

Man you guys are making me wish I had bought Xenoblade when I got a chance...

I really hope Shulk is in, he looks cool. Or rather, his sword looks cool and I want to see him hit Mario with it.

It's never too late when it comes to Xenoblade.

A Xenoblade stage without the Bionis or Mechonis in the background would be pointless. I hope that whatever stage Xenoblade gets is more like Isle Delfino, so that we can see a lot of different places without it being a dreadful scrolling stage.

I posted this in the last thread and I still stand by this idea. The stage itself is boring, but a transitional stage a la Delphino Plaza with the Mechonis and Bionis fighting in the background would be awesome IMO

One of the best RPGs I've played in a while. I'm not really an RPG person either but I recognize greatness when I play it.

I hope this isn't making you want it more. I've said it before and I'll say it again, Nintendo needs to put this up on the eShop so gamers who missed out on the limited release get a chance to play it.

have a question:

you may know of the 48 roster leak and the sal leak, do you think it's possable that sakurai has couple characters he held back from there sources. like if there source is a nintendo employee could he the employee be told thats the final roster but it's really not?

Anything's possible, seeing how we don't know anything about the people behind these other alleged leaks, either.

That would imply that Sakurai knows who the leaker is, which is incredibly unlikely.

So I'm getting a little concerned that Ice Climbers are cut. I know Rosalina+Luma kinda debunks the idea that the 3DS can't handle multi-characters, but I don't know what goes on behind the scenes to make these characters work. Just throwing that out there.

Don't worry about it.
Mewtwo is the only character with a unique moveset who is doubtful to return. Well other than Squirtle and Ivysaur, but that's just due to business with the Pokemon Company

You think everyone's coming back? What makes you say that?

I could easily see Ike getting cut as well.

Don't Ice Climbers have characters from their game in SSB4? That somewhat confirms they're still in.

Oh? I should probably scour the Smash Run videos.

The polar bear enemies show up.

I also agree that Ike seems to be on iffy ground. Him and Snake are the ones I worry about most.

Honestly? More or less I do. Idk why everyone is so cut happy. There's quite literally never been a non clone cut other than Mewtwo.

Snake may be Psuedo Cut though hopefully replaced by someone from Battalion Wars ;)

Wasn't it confirmed that multi-character thing was a mistranslation? That Sakurai was referring to "characters occupying the same body"

I think that's what he said about transformations. I was referring more to the speculation about the 3DS capabilities in handling 8 characters (4 Ice Climbers) at once. Although if the issue is RAM, then rekameohs debunked that.

Great news. Found it here:

Okay, sorry for the derail! Back to your regularly-scheduled Ridley/Palutena talk!

3DS will also be accessing the data from a cartridge (or through the digital release) as opposed to a disk drive, which would mean for faster load times again. Remember how long Shiek's transformation was in Brawl? That's due to the really slow memory reading of the Wii coupled with its larger optical media than the GameCube.

There's no reason to believe that the 3DS version of Smash 4 will have any features removed from Brawl, since the 3DS is a more powerful system than the Wii in almost every category. The Wii could push more polygons, but that's unnecessary with the 3DS screens' low resolution.

The Pikmin change from six to three is likely just due to balancing, not technical issues. Maybe someone at Namco played Project M and liked it since it's pretty much the same system there!

I never played the second one, but to be honest, the first one really stressed me out. I love Advance Wars, but I never got a feel for juggling everything I needed to in Battalion Wars (even though I beat it). It always felt anxiety-producing to pick up the controller.

I never played the first but the 2nd is one of my favorite Wii games. I love RTS games (even though I'm not too good at them), and I enjoy actually going down and getting dirty with the gameplay, so this game spoke to my soul.

In my fantasy world Wii U would have the 3rd game and we'd have something like 16 player battles where each team of 8 takes a battalion against one another. You're able to switch classes as you play, command troops in your area, and maybe even build barracks/factories to produce more units for your team.

It would have the same great offline campaign as it's predecessors as well.

It'd probably be the best use for the GamePad on the whole system also.

The thing also that makes me hopeful is that there isn't half of the memory being taken up by a giant story mode... At least that doesn't seem like the case.

Edit: I guess I should post my dream roster to see what you guys think!

Dream roster? Absolutely.
Realistic? Probably not. :(
