So should we assume that all characters have alt. costumes, or only a select few, or only newcomers?
I'd bet only on Wario, Villager, and Wii Fit Trainer. Wireframe Mac is just an alternate color.

It's wrong to assume anything when it comes to this game, but if you were going to jump to any conclusion it would be that it's for select characters who have a lot of different versions between games. I.E. the many faces of Little Mac, He and She Fit Trainers, Biker Wario and Overalls Wario...
Dr. Mario and Female Villager would be likely extensions of that logic, but who even knows.

He's actually the driving reason behind the shitty art style of Brawl, he had nonsensical hitboxes for his moves, and I'll be glad if he's cut. Thematically he and bayonetta belong in sony all stars rather than smash.

Im good with all except switch Talonflame for Pyroar and for the love of god I hope that abomination, Barbaracle, never sees the light of Smash. Malva's room -- Talonflame:

Diantha's room -- Mega Gardevoir:
In each case, the Pokémon is the highest-level Pokémon in the trainer's team, and generally the last one they send out into battle. Thus, it seems appropriate they be the Pokémon that appear as bosses. Perhaps beating each one would advance you to the next room of the Elite Four, culminating in the Champion?
I picture Talonflame staying high up in the air, using Brave Bird to dive-bomb the combatants... Aegislash changing between its shield and blade forms, soaking up and dishing out damage, respectively... Noivern unleashing Boomburst until someone takes him down... and Barbaracle lumbering across the stage, slashing at people with his claws. Mega Gardevoir, meanwhile, could disrupt the battle with reality-bending psychic powers.
Instead of bosses I imagine it might work like the pokemon stadium stages where some stage hazard pokemon show up.
Eh, the ALBW 3DS XL was good enough for me, besides they need to save that design for the LE WiiU bundle anyways

Kalos is such a memorable setting. (Being in full 3D helps!) I'm certainly not going to complain about the WiiU version having X/Y levels. The more, the merrier, I say.
Same for Kid Icarus Uprising. I'd love for the WiiU version to get a second KIU stage, set in Lightning Battle.

I always forget each version has different stages most of the stages we've seen pics for won't be playable until november 
Anthony is a minor character from a single game. He's like Rundas, except Rundas actually has an interesting set of abilities for Smash.
If it's not Ridley, Mother Brain (real Mother Brain, not that MB shit), or Dark Samus, it's not really worth considering. Adam would be on that list if he wasn't horrible.
Edit: don't get me wrong, I like Anthony, Rundas, Sylux, etc, they're just D-listers who feel out-of-place among Nintendo icons.

I'm kinda salty about Dark Link not being playable actually, lol. I don't even have a good reason for that other than I like Dark Link. I just think it would be cool for him to have a moveset where he jumped through shadows.

Crappy again? He was great in 64, awful in Melee, and great again in Brawl (though perhaps not *quite* up to his 64 standards). He's my Brawl main!
I do hope he remains great or gets more buffs in Smash 4, though!
