OP: I bet you drink very sophisticated drinks too. Jack & Coke, Vodka & Cranberry. I understand Budweiser (american) and Coors are bad examples of beer but when you refre to Smirnoff Ice as beer it is evident that you really have no idea. Smirnoff Ice is defintely a "drink" that's why it is mostly sold to women.

There's so much classyness in beer I cannot even bgein to describe. You need to go do some research and find out what good beer is. There's plenty of good american beer, hell the best stouts come from there but the popular 10 24-packs at the beer store won't be it. Sip on a tripel or quadrupel after dinner one day and then redefine what "beer" means. I doubt you'll do it though since you are just looking for a way to get wasted while looking like the shit.
:lol

I'm much more into beer than spirits at this point. I try to avoid the Coors Lights, Buds, and Miller Lights of the world, but I wouldn't be against them if they are ice cold.

i love Blue Moon and I hate that guys make fun of me and call it a "girls beer"

stfu it tastes good.
Depends, do you take it with the fruit? (I think it's an orange slice)

If so, then yes... yes you are a girl.

Beer is pretty much my weapon of choice there are a couple of exceptions. Before a meal I always go with a Caesar, it's like an Appy. If I'm out to have a good time and really tie one on Beer just isn't going to get the job done. You just to the point were you can't get it down fast enough to keep things rolling. I'll switch to Crown Royal to get a little fire going then to keep it going its all about the shooters.

The whole bit about looking like having money to spare cause you got a highball in your hand is laughable. Typically for me once we get to shooters you going to meet a lot of people. You always end up buying rounds and people start to drop out so you drag strangers or the waitress in. Before you know it's a free for all you buy a round here and there and before you know it you've raised a glass with the whole party.

a good beer is fucking delicious.

this american light beer tastes and smells like horse piss.

pretty much this.

A good beer on tap > all else.

I do like whiskey, vodka martinis, gin cocktails, and whatever else, but sometimes after work, nothing beats a cold one.

I was asked last night why didn't I drink beer; I replied with a they taste horrible. I am usually a drinks guy; whiskey, vodka, etc. They are stronger than those cheap beers and obviously have more style. The only beer that I can manage to drink is Smirnoff... and its Green Apple. Bud? Eww. Coors? Eww. Heineken? Eww. I just don't like beers. I prefer drinks, they give me a more sophisticated (=P) and higher class look... and they cost more so it gives the perception you have money to spare.

So, what do you prefer? Beers or Drinks?

PD: Some lame ass will pop up with Coke or Water, no... we are only dealing with ALCOHOLIC beverages here, thank you!

I like both personally. Many beers I enjoy, and many spirits as well.

What is it about wine that..I won't be drunk, but my ability to speak is seriously hindered. My tongue gets wrapped up and I start stumbling on words.

I used to think that I hated beer because I couldn't stand drinking Coors or Bud. But, once I started drinking stuff like Guiness and Smithwicks I realized that I was just drinking bad beer before.

I really don't like beer, on the odd occasion I will drink German beer, but I would rather have a Strongbow or some mixed drink Umeshu (plum wine) + soda is a favorite.

The only beer I can stand to drink is Corona Xtra or Lite.

Otherwise I stick to Vodka, Bourbon, Rum, or Whiskey.

Buying beer over liquor is such a waste of money. You can get the exact same effect with liquor, but you use up a lot less liquid, so you can save more for later.

But for those of us who enjoy the taste of beer, why would it be a waste of money? I will admit I have paid upwards of $15 for a bottle of beer (at the store!).

There's a huge misconception that American beer is all Coors and Bud and Miller. I can say through years of beer drinking from dozens of countries that America makes the best beer in the world. You just have to find it ;)

*Tips hat*

I recently imported this -

Good times!

Excellent! I adore a well-made caipirinha. Trouble is, there are very few brands of cachaca readily available in the US.

Pitu is what is most commonly found in US bars. How does the flavor compare?

I can understand people who enjoy the taste of beer wanting to drink it just to drink it (without the intention of getting drunk).

But it seems to me that drinking soda, or something like that, would be a better choice.

You drink Smirnoff Ice. You aren't allowed to call anyone names.

That's the only beer I drink. Vodka.... Whiskey... Rum... etc... mixed with some other stuff. It's my stuff, not the cheap ass beer =/

They are completely different and independent of each other, and each has it's own time and place. Sorry but drinking a single malt while wolfing down a pizza or some BBQ just doesn't work as well as beer.

I can't eat and drink alcohol. I can alternate them... like eat, wait some minutes and then drink, but if I am eating something like Pizza its Coke for me =P. Alcohol is just for social gatherings, not every day

stella, abita purple haze, hoegarden and saporo are all good beers to start off with if you're on smirnoff green apple... don't try the heavier/darker beers till you're ready, as they're complexities will be lost on you till then.

and for the win, drink brooklyn lager's east india pale ale:

When I used to drink, the only beer I truly liked was Kirin Ichiban. Otherwise, I'd either go for a bottle of Belvedere or a nice sweet potato shochu, usually Hama No Imota.

I'm the same way I don't drink with every meal or anything. Some food I find does go well with alcoholic drinks though, and that drink happens to be beer.

As far as a strictly social drink, yea probably better off with spirits, mixed drinks etc.. Although there are times I can't resist a pint of Guinness.
