I just want to see a post fight between James and Dahbomb

... and some theorycrafting.

James too old... Viscant also. Dahbomb is like 10 years too late. I remember reading Viscant's long ass MVC2 post and saying to myself "this guy will never be great".... then he goes and wins EVO vanilla Marvel.

(My theory was that Viscant spent too much time thinking about the game and over-analyzing instead of just playing the damn thing).

Maybe Dahbomb has a shot at winning EVO 10 years from now... who knows.

Being senile isn't easy man.

YEA JAMES I KNOW YOU CAN READ THIS. COME AT ME! YOU AND YOUR LAKERS!

Might be that, yeah. It's no secret when I'm at FGC events, I use the tag and my username, lol. Even David pointed to me when James talked about getting a neogaf account when i saw them the night before Capcom Cup.

What kind of friend are you? Why didn't you save him/her? I would never let my friends do cocaine, play WoW or be apart of any PONY related things.

That's what friends are FOR!
I have failed as a friend. As soon as I found out, it was already too late, he is beyond saving.

Melty Blood stuff

Do you mind giving some more Melty advice? I'm a pretty new player (I've been playing for a few months, but I'm bad enough at fighting games that a few months might as well be a few weeks :V), and I'm trying to figure out how to deal with a couple of things right now.

I play C-Hisui and I pretty much only play against an F-Aoko and a C-Kouma, and I have a hard time dealing with both of them. My neutral is awful, so I always end up getting air-dashed on trying to get in on Aoko and I find it really hard to deal with Kouma's j.C. If I can get in on them, I don't really have a strong mixup game when they're in pressure outside of frame-trap/throw and their defense is good enough that they can tech most of my throws. When I land a throw, I've usually been doing j.2C for a left-right mixup but I feel as if they're getting better at reading me so I've been trying to do more bento pressure. I've been using EX Dust and rebeats to reset pressure and I just realized that I can use books to get back in, so that's something I've been practicing. If they get in on me, the Aoko can go for a blockstring into Blue Fire or orb high-low-left-right and the Kouma is good at using his 5A and rekka in frame traps mixed in with his command grab, and those both feel way more solid (and high damaging) than my throw mixup. C-Hisui's j.B and j.C feel kinda awkward to use--j.B whiffs on crouchers and j.C whiffs on crouchers if I do it too slowly after her airdash in the corner, which happens a lot--so I've never been good at mixing those in.

Basically, I was just wondering how to actually play this character and how to play this game lol. Am I approaching this the wrong way for trying to deal with their j.Cs with air normals? Should I be throwing more pots even at Aoko who can 236A faster than I can throw? Are there better mixups for her than frametrap/throw when they're in pressure? Lol, how do I even play a neutral game without bulldogging my way in? I have so many questions questions (probably due to how bad I am at fighting games overall) so I was hoping you have some general advice for new players.

You are as old as you feel.

You know I <3 you Kadey but that's not true, i.e. you can't just tell your body to react to alcohol the way you want. Also you just lose reactions(yeah I know but sako, sorry he's not human).

Finally got my old stick back and borrowed a 360 for a week, anyone has a spare XBL trial code?

No. It doesn't apply to everyone but if you take care of yourself and will it, yes. I know people who could drink and more as they get older. Not going to name any names. And you can supplement reactions with experience and a better sense.

Sometimes I'm surprised how hard it is for well known players to get on GAF. Although I have no clue how they select people.
I'm surprised how easy it is for them to get expedited when people can wait months to years otherwise.

Although it seems like we get new waves of juniors much more frequently nowadays than how it used to be.

Not that hard if you have an email that can back your identity up like a work or school one.

The ones that don't get approved for a long time usually fall through the cracks. It happens with that many accounts coming in.

Took me almost a year to get in after I registered. Just in time for E3 though (which means GAF was mostly down).

Edit: I used a school one. 8 months wasn't too bad though. Although I'm surprised when I hear people getting in after a couple weeks.

Of course my dear, I know that, doesn't mean that you're not losing reactions. I also hope I'll someday be able to watch your stream Kappa

It took almost 3 years for me, didn't help that I switched my email acount after a big general recruitment failure.

I got in pretty fast once I finally set my account up after Tek and Farms nagged at me to do so for almost half a year

I didn't have an email lol

From my experience, the secret is to stop thinking and play C-Roa. Then you don't have to worry about spacing, frame traps, throwing, neutral or Melty Blood. Bzzt Bzzt.

I want to play Melty again. Maybe when I get a new laptop, I'll just mess around in training mode.

Mostly used Len and Ryougi back in MBAA. Planning to work on V Akiha again though.
I forgot so much of her setups.

Oh geez. That's unfortunate.

I play C-Hisui...
When I play Melty Blood I either play C-Hisui or F/C-Mech, and if your opponent isn't great at parrying then C-Hisui has INSANE corner pressure. You can pretty much go to town. 4C has a great hitbox, moves forward, and leads into her rekka, and even if the rekka gets blocked you can go into 2C which is safe or just dust. For that matter, EX Dust is great corner oki. j B is actually j B B, and is useful for not landing when moving through the air.

I made an e-mail through my friend's ISP to get into GAF after lurking for a year or two. lol

Struggle not as real as gutabo's though, damn.

That doesn't sound like too much fun though. :<

I definitely don't use charged 5C as much as I should. The Aoko player likes using 214D (speaking of which, I probably should experiment with parry jab and 623B on defense and to stop people airdashing at me) so I wonder how effective it'll be after a while. I also don't use EX dust in the corner into her high/low mixup as much as I should either. That being said, I find that, unless I do a close 6C, 2B and 2C whiff so my mixup isn't as effective. These things are still honestly things I don't do enough, so I'll just have to think about using them more.

I'm still not sure how neutral works in this game though, which means that most of the time people get in for free on me. I also used to be able to block Aoko's Blue Fire mixups pretty decently, but my friend has adapted to my blocking patterns way better than I have adapted to his mixup and he can always go into another mixup if it's blocked, so I feel like getting opened up is almost inevitable.

OceanBlue: Basically my approach was to focus on her braindead stuff, and then work to round out my gameplan to account for all the times being braindead doesn't work.

My mixup can tend to become pretty readable after a dozen or so games, and I play the Aoko every week or every other week so I feel like he has a really good read on when I go for grabs and when to block. Plus his reactions are really good. I don't play the Kouma as much, but we're both kinda nutty and I have bad neutral so our games kinda become scrambles to see who can start their pressure first. It's a bit ugly. :<

I'm kinda just looking for a way to be more consistent. When I play, I always do well for the first few games, and then my bulldog rushdown neutral gets exposed and I start losing way more than I win. It's probably because I'm bad at fighting games so I play in the newbie, "Do the same thing at the same ranges," style that Juicebox talks about in his footsies video.

I have no advice on neutral in MB. I play it like most other games, I just have a kinda slow character :P I did just reinstall it yesterday though, looking to play more.
