Fighting Games Weekly | April 21-27 | Easter EG Hunting

It's Nemo vs FChamp at Northwest Major.

I honestly don't know who's gonna win. If Yipes was facing Nemo, I would say Yipes if he played like he did at Capcom Cup but I think F. Champ might take it. I hope I'm wrong.

Goddammit, could've sworn I put it in that post. Link was on previous page.

Green Ace won Marvel. Ryan and Chad doing commentary atm on SF4.

You left me waiting Kimo hahaha

It really is that bad. Goddamn I hate that combination (Firebrand/Skrull). That was legitimately one of the reasons why I left Marvel, and I'm a goddamned Viper player. I have an unblockable available too! :lol

Edit: YO THE STICK THROW AT 2OLD! #dead
People don't even use FB + Skrull that often. I am honestly much more offended by Zero and anchor Vergil.

Also BakedYams, Apologyman and Nemo are supposed to play in an exhibition as well. This is also why Apologyman is playing against Yipes so he can practice the match up.

Well, this goes without saying yeah, but holy fuck that team combination made me reevaluate my life choices when I played against it.
People have figured out some situational escapes to that set up by the way. It's now about as cheap as the Viper unblockable (fliers can get out but Viper can still counter that if she knows a dash is coming). So for fliers/double jumpers it's a cheap 50/50... for Vergil like characters it's guaranteed.

FChamp said he and Yipes are gonna do a FT100 at some point.
Reminds me of Yipes and Combofiend grinding in early days of UMVC3 almost non stop for a few days.

THE RETURN OF THE HYPERBOLIC TIME CHAMBER!!!

Tomorrow we'll be hosting a Melee tournament there. Melee still pretty big in FLA, and some popular players should be there. Lambchops, Colbol, Linguini, Shiz (just kidding - I think he's locked up!) et al.

I'll probably do some commentary even though I won't enter. Game hasn't changed that much.

2 hrs to USF4 exhibition
There'll be 3 matches, using first-to-five format.
Kazunoko vs. Mago
Momochi vs. Tokido
Umehara vs. Bon-chan

Juicebox has quite possibly the most intelligent approach to learning fighting games I have ever seen, just listening to his stream for 2 hours can teach you so many things, even if you're a skilled player already.

Most SF players that shit on Marvel on GAF are the same people who got furious at stream monsters begging for Marvel to get on stream, and made the mental connection that they're representative of the Marvel playerbase. Also the source of most of the "my game is better than yours" bitching, only made worse by retaliation. Every time you think it goes away, it rears its head again.

I'm totally saving this when I read another Karst post

That topanga qualifier between momochi and tokido was fucking quality, be interesting to see what happens here assuming they play the same characters.

C'mon momo stick with ken, that c.mk compels you!

Guys, tell me I'm wrong here

Chun-Li near corner

Neutral Jump HP, Close Stand HP, HK SBK, EX SBK

(70+70)*1.00, (90)*1.00, (40+20*8)*0.80, (30*4+50)*0.70

509 damage, one bar, assuming all hits land.

If you can fit an ex legs between the two SBK, it becomes 604 damage for two bars.

Edit: Wait, damage per hit rounds up, right? Maybe a little off then.

Just made it home(yeah tipsy again, for a good reason this time), what's good right now? Is 2O2F still going? Yassssssssssss

The thing is, everything he is teaching is the absolute basics to these concepts that everybody who plays SF4 should know. We don't have enough serious teachers showing people this stuff though. Like, whenever a new guy shows up to our arcade I show them this stuff, and they always say they had no clue this stuff was going on.

Is there an easy layout or outline for Juicebox's stuff so I can forward it to others?

A lot of it is stressing fundamental spacing stuff, a lot of it is found in the old sonic hurricane guide, he just explains it while playing games with people. He posts here so maybe he'll help you out. Oh, and he has his YT channel.

Markman, how silent are the Silent Stick/Buttons? I need to be able to play while my girl is sleeping, and I'm not down with getting my ass kicked by Kadey while I try to use a fucking pad like a Luddite.

I really need to replace the JLF in my trusty old OG TE but I don't really wanna buy a whole new stick until theres something for PS4.

As long as they aren't in the same room, they will be silent enough. However it also depends on the stick case you put them in. Since they will be in an OG TE, should be fine.

ill be at arcade legacy tomorrow for a tournament of legends qualifier and some good old guilty gear. Sadly I havent practiced since badc lol. Gotta get on that soon
