No doubt they're getting a significant budget in return and help from the Japan Studio. Where are the downsides to that? Sure, it limits the audience but this definitely has some benefits.

It's been rumored since Miyazaki's non-involvement with Dark Souls II development that he working with SCEJ on a secret project. I don't know the very idea why FromSoft wouldn't make another exclusive, ignoring the fact that they and SCEJ in good term despite SCEI reluctance on releasing their project worldwide.
 
So.. how does Kadokawa influence this? Isnt Kadokawa a Japanese publisher? Would they really let Sony publish and co-develope a game? I know that this started way before the purchase but then.. is it safe to say that this'll be the only/last game From does with Sony?

Oh I see, so let's just forget about everything else exclusive, all games on all platforms. There's a reason there is more than one system, dude. If you like the games on a system get that bloody system, quit whining.

This has been happening for a long time bro.

MS just did it with DR3, Ryse, Sunset Overdrive, etc. Just because you want to play this specific game doesn't give you the right to only complain about third-party exclusives now.

Isn't it enough that From is collaborating with Sony Japan? Do you really need to write this crossover fan fiction for competing game companies and proprietary tech?
 
Why would people be up in arms over exclusivity? Isn't Studio Japan helping development? So... Sony... is helping development?

Am I missing something?

Natethehate: Borderlands 4 for Switch 2 has been on pause for a couple of months. Challenging to port for the studio.
