Now THIS is what I have been waiting for! From Software+Japan Studio+PS4 will be truly epic, Demon's Souls EPIC!

And not a scamco in sight :-)

Resolution sucks but exciting none the less.

BUT

There's a cursor in this image to the right. Weird.

Fake?

Captured accidentally when screen capping the video

YES!!! This must be the other project FROM's A team was working on.

Also graphics don't look hot for a PS4 exclusive. I hope this is just because of the bad screen captures.

E3!!!!

so that makes Second Son,Beast Souls,Arkham Knight(maybe buy for PC),The Witcher 3
1 or 2 more games to go Sony then youll have another PS4 owner

Cheerful reminder for the cry babies: games cost money to make. People, as in the developers, need to be paid cashmoney to spend hundreds of hours chipping away at their creations in order for them to come to fruition. If they don't have money, they cannot do this, because they need to eat, pay bills, feed families, buy cocaine, fuck hookers, and whatever else. No moneys, no games.

Enter the publisher. The developer often pitches a project they assuredly do not have money to pay for on their own. Publisher agrees to pay their wages and ensure the game actually gets made and shipped.

Catch: Publishers often have requirements to sweeten their end of the deal. This is fair. This is business. Because it's their goddamn money paying for a game that would otherwise not exist.

Example: Bayonetta 2. SEGA partially funded a project they technically owned, pitched by Platinum Games. SEGA ultimately decided "fuck that" and pulled the plug. Enter Nintendo, who struck a deal to finish paying for the project. Ergo, Wii U exclusive.

This is the same case, most likely. Project Beast/Demon's Souls 2 needed funding. Those people making the game need someone to pay their wage, so they can make the goddamn game, and eat/shit/fuck. Sony is, by all rumours, funding this project. No Sony, no game as you see it.

Hence exclusivity.

lol, good call. It'd be nice if everybody would think about this before complaining about exclusivity. With all games and all platforms.

My only regret about this leak is never knowing how I would've reacted if I saw this in the conference.

I would've lost my fucking shit and never get it back

Maybe by the time PS7 rolls around Capcom will have managed to make a game that's half as good as DS.

Keep in mind From is also a small, formerly independent studio.

They have been making a tidy profit off of a niche market for decades. They don't exactly have massive teams or money to burn like some of these larger developers.

To be fair, Bayonetta 2 was dropped by Sega due to lackluster interest. I don't think From would've had any problems finding a publisher for this title, first or third party for that matter

I hope once this is properly announced that it'll be different enough from the Souls series. I'm keeping my expectations in check until E3 or whenever this is fully announced.

Thats FS model to a T. NamcoB picked up the financing for dark souls distribution.

Personally I have more of a issue when people pay to block games on other platforms. Paying for games that wouldn't see the light of day like this, DR3, Titanfall, and Deep Down are fine in my book.

Sometimes that's not as clear cut, but timed exclusivity is almost always paying to screw over one sides gamers and is wrong IMO.

If this is a hoax it is pretty damn elaborate and thought out

Fuck though I hope its a real leak!

And DAYUM if it is. Talk about leaking the biggest E3 surprise that you probably have

FUCK some heads are gonna roll if its real

Looks like Demons Souls 2 as far as looks are concerned. The time doesn't matter - a more modern Demons/Dark Souls would be just as good (magic = bullets).

I'm ready.

and also = after the huge success of Dark Souls 1 and 2, who the fuck expects Sony just to let their Demons Soul IP just to unused? No-one, that's who.

Honestly graphics-wise this looks like a PS3 game to me.
It's really hard to tell, the compression is horrific, but the assets look like a nice jump over Dark Souls, hopefully it's 60fps too, it looks like what a next-gen Souls should I think. The fog door is the most obvious comparison, it looks like it's built from independent alphas at various depths, a notable step up.

As far as I know sony owns the Demon's Soul IP, correct?

So Sony can actually call this "Demon's Soul II" if they wanted to?
