Yeah, I think he asked for a perm as well. Shinobi would have to come back to confront derrick head on.

Even with all of this negativity, derrick did have a few solid opinions. He was just too damn down on everything all the time.

I do notice that a lot of moderators seems to stick with one avatar, I'd imagine that helps for some members who retain visual cues (outside the clearly obvious red font.) I thought that Shinobi602 was a moderator for some reason until I saw he got banned.

Let's say, hypothetically, I have requested something from a mod through PM and they have delivered said request. I then tell them "You're my favourite mod. Don't tell the others tho".

Now imagine (again, hypothetically) I have done this with multiple mods.

Would they know?

If you're PMing in about general policy or some kind of issue like that, yes, we will generally discuss it as a group with whoever is present when it's received.

If you're mod shopping for a different response because you didn't like the one you got, we will know as well.

Beyond that, the answer is maybe. >_>

I dislike all the mods except two, who I won't name because I want every mod to think I like them.

Derrick01 was hurt by the reputation he built for himself. It also made him get more attention than he deserves on a lot of matters, but that's the trade off.

I used to, but I am generally not on NeoGAF that often (hence I don't interact with them) and I stay on the gaming side so I could hardly tell you who any Off Topic mods are. How I see it from the gaming side:

Kagari is the Final Fantasy girl
Aeana has a Dragon Quest(?) avatar, that blue droplet thing with the creepy smile.
Y2Kev is the smartass
Stump posts walls of text and is the "model" moderator.
EatChildren is that one dude.
Steve Youngblood is the always neutral one; he says a lot when he could really use fewer words and get across the same point, no offense.
Some person with a green thing in their avatar (Seda?)
Zellard is Demons/Dark Souls.
EmCeeGramr is the person with the Deus Ex(?) avatar?
Dresden is your typical generic mod, he seems neither here nor there.
Charlequin is a octopus in a suit...
Cyan is the one with a Bengal Tiger avatar I believe
Besada is the one that seems to ban people a lot.
ThoseDeafMutes, I see him post but he doesn't have a notable schtick like other mods (excluding Dresden).
Duckroll seems to participate in a lot of Japanese related threads.
Opiate is the buzzkiller.
Bishoptl is an administrator.
Evilore is the owner.

The most recognizable because he seems to be the most active moderator on gaming side at least in terms of interacting with the community; he seems more down to earth than some of the other moderators.
