Ever since the Nintendo DS, they have not. There been more games in the series now that have default cartridge colors (Gens 4, 5, and 6) compared to colored (Gens 1, 2, and 3.)

"New world" = new to loaaads of relatively young Pokemon fans who have never been to Hoenn. They'll play the nostalgia card for sure, but the beauty of them spacing out the remakes like this is to a massive portion of the Pokemon fanbase they're brand new games.

Actually it was "A new Pokemon adventure" that got me. Either that, or it's a complete reimagining of the original story, which is still more than a remake I guess.

Follows Game Freak's latest trend of not repeating themselves with releases and instead trying to do something new. Either way, I like this much better than a straight remake.

Those EU boxes are amazing. I liked XY, but it was too easy and was severely lacking in endgame. Hopefully this will improve on those.

Remakes do the Gen 3 games in XY's new engine with all the gameplay refinements.

Also for the metagame pvp, it brings back move tutors which were really missed in XY.

Getting AS for NA 3DS and OR for JP 3DS, both digital and the reverse for physical collectors purposes. Which I should do for XY eventually now that I think about it.
