Why not at E3?

its not exactly something to be boasting about on stage, if its cheaper (which it probably will be) its a big fuck you to early adopters and their whole KINECT IS EVERYTHING strategy.

at E3 they'll drown the news with GAMESGAMESGAMESMOTHERFUCKINGGAMES

They're bleeding sales. Didn't they do this random announcement when they went back on their shit DRM.
Will it be enough to sway people to xbone over ps4 though?

Interesting that as of late February

Speaking with Eurogamer yesterday ahead of the announcement of the first Xbox One price cut, Xbox UK marketing chief Harvey Eagle said Microsoft was sticking with Kinect because the company feels it's "integral to the Xbox One experience".

"[A Kinect-less Xbox One] is not in our plans at all," he stressed.

"As we've said from the very beginning, we believe Kinect is an absolutely integral part of the Xbox One experience."

So does that mean they're going to ditch that ridiculous requirement of Upload Studio that requires Kinect to be on?

Welp. I am not interested in the Kinect or even the Xbox One really, but I figured they would stick to their guns a little bit longer. Interesting.

How many more days till NPD April?

No reason to drop this instead on E3. It's really out of nowhere but it's a good thing.

Well fuck me. If it's $349, shit just got real. If it's $299, we're done here.

Still, shame for Microsoft. Should've pushed the tech hard instead of wasting it away.

makes sense, Kinect was such a "Mattrick thing" and this way, they have it out of the way and can focus purely on games at E3.

Eh?!?

Ok, this is going be repeated many, many times in this thread, but this is the sort of announcement that they should make at E3.

On the contrary. You announce this before E3 so that more people have a positive outlook on you and will be tuning in to your presentation as your system is now on their radar.
