Atlus you're killing my wallet!

Metroidvania

People called Romanes they go the house?
Gotta get started on Nocturne first, but this is an awesome trend.

Hope Europe stops getting the shaft at some point, though.

Is it just the first one releasing tomorrow? I hope not and if true I hope the second isn't far behind. I've not played these but my understanding is that this is a complete game only as a duology.

If you had to choose one, this or Nocturne?

I liked Nocturne much more. I can't recall a lot of details as it's been around a decade, but I just found Saga to be a bit too grindy with so many battles and I remember really forcing myself to finish. Nocturne is one of my all-time favorite games. I'd still buy both though, as it's been so long.

This is just a lesson that pretty much everything will be re-released eventually (cept for maybe Panzer Dragoon Saga). I remember going through a mad scramble to get alot of the gems ive missed the tail end of PS2's lifespan including a bunch of megaten games. I wonder if the physical copies still are worth anything?

This one is more story driven than Nocturne, but lacks demon fusion. It's also an easier game.

If I had to choose one it would most definitely be Nocturne.

Edit: Besides, I'd wait for Digital Devil Saga 2 to hit the store as well before getting this one. It's a 20-25 hours game and ends with a "To Be Continued...". You'd be crushed if you finished the game and the sequel wasn't available.

How much was Nocturne when it came out? I want to get this to play it again, but dunno if I'll go past $15.

Happy to see the ps2 Atlus games getting re-released, I'd be even happier if they started releasing new games of this calibre on consoles (or PC) again some time this decade.

Have beaten this game five times over the years but yet to knock out the optional boss
because he got the buffs, obviously
.

Yeah, a dds1 & 2 package (since they're essentially one game) on Vita would be so awesome. I'd prefer a Nocturne-version for Vita first though.

In an alternate reality where the Vita has healthy publisher support, this is happening. Alongside Dreamcast 3.

$10 is the perfect price point for this and Nocturne.

It could happen. Atlus has seen a ton of success on the Vita. P4G sold like hotcakes, and Conception II supposedly shipped twice as many Vita copies as 3DS ones.

It's just a shame we're getting these great games on a dying platform. How long do you think Sony is going to keep those PS3 PSN servers up so you can keep downloading them?

Isn't that the whole point of PSnow though ?

Yea but these came out before Persona got big, I don't see them going back to these games and if they did make a new one it would be heading for 3DS probably. (which I have no issue with :p)

Digital Devil Saga is pure love. Easily the best SMT spin-off, closely followed by Devil Survivor.

They should release the second game as well, because playing only the first one isn't the complete experience.

Nocturne is classic SMT -- near generic protagonist, hardcore dungeon crawling, monster negotiation and fusing making up your party, morality choices, the whole nine yards.

Digital Devil Saga is "what if that team made a version of Final Fantasy X?". It has a party of heroes that you switch in and out, with their own abilities and move sets. It has a take on the sphere grid to level up your guys. It has a more cinematic story and a more detailed and expansive plot. Still has all the great massive dungeons, enemy grinding, and push system combat the series is known for however.

DDS1 does end in a massive cliff hanger (that basically changes the way the story is viewed), but each of the two games is as long as a typical RPG of that time period. They are both massive games. You can buy and play DDS1 now and Grace would have plenty of time to get DDS2 up on PSN by the time you were done, even on her time schedule.

Nocturne is a great, classic game, but I feel like DDS was the best RPGs released that generation. Takes all the parts I loved about Nocturne and brought it into a presentation and story that I preferred more (a Final Fantasy style). Tremendous story too, even if it does drive straight into crazy-town towards the very end of the second game.

This game and Transistor for PS4 on the same day. I really love you Sony, you are doing so much better on the backlog than Nintendo. Also, ow my wallet!

Sony isn't that dumb. These will be part of PlayStation Now and/or whenever they get their PS4 emulator stuff running.
