US/CAN Club Nintendo Thread: New and improved. Read the OP.

Welp, I caved and submitted a code early. Oh well, I only wasted 30 coins that could have gone towards next year's goal. Now to see if they'll still give me a demo code. I'm not even interested in Tomodachi Life that much, I just want to have the demo.

Haven't all of the demo codes been sent out already, though?

Kind of at a loss trying to understand why this Tomodachi demo is so narrowly targeted.

Nintendo doesn't want a certain minority group to get their hands on it to early. They don't want this minority group to share their ideas on how to make the game better especially when it comes to equal representation :P .

In all seriousness, I don't know. I guess they want those who've hit platinum a certain number of times to be rewarded for staying loyal. Either that or it's just random among those who've hit platinum.

I wonder if the same demo is going to be released on the eShop a week before release anyway. After looking at videos, I'm probably not going to buy the game anyway since it doesn't look anywhere as interactive as Animal Crossing... but I'd like to try it nonetheless just so I can say that I definitely don't want it.

Honestly though, the game looks stupid. BUT I STILL WANT THAT FREE DEMO OK.

So, ive got a question.

Ive hit platinum status for the year so I dont want to register games until after the 2014 cutoff. However, I want to buy games from the Wii u eshop. Could I disassociate with.my club Nintendo account, buy wahtever eshop games I want, then in july reassociate the two accounts and get credit for the stuff I bought?

Nope, you can't get credit for stuff unless you buy them while your console is associated with a Club Nintendo account. If you buy games without a Club Nintendo account connected then you're just wasting coins.

eShop is terrible for going over the 600. My history looks like:

2009 Elite Status: Platinum (620 coins)
2010 Elite Status: Platinum (610 coins)
2011 Elite Status: Platinum (660 coins)
2012 Elite Status: Platinum (690 coins)
2013 Elite Status: Platinum (895 coins) *this is where eShop started for me
2014 Elite Status: Platinum (1565 coins) *here's where it killed me

Jesus....

Should be in the subject of your order / shipping email(s). Pop that number in here: https://store.nintendo.com/ng3/repair/repairStatusUnRegisteredUser.jsp along with your zip... though that page has recently changed so I'm not sure if it still works the way it used to!

Yeah, I remember the old one where you can get the shipping # if there is one. It seems they did change the page and saying my order # is not valid lol I did email Nintendo and it has been 2 days and still no reply. I'm going to give them a bad feedback for slow response

You might need to reconsider registering retail games ever again

I'm guessing you mean its terrible in terms of you trying to prevent yourself from going over 600?

That really sucks. :/ Guess I am not getting plat next year then. Gotta register Mario Kart (and free game?), Wii Sports Club, and Wii Fit U before the 2014 cutoff. That's 100+ coins down the drain.

YMMV, but a certain GAF member was telling me that he complained directly to Nintendo about not getting a demo code despite being Platinum and having ACNL, and they gave him one.

Try it if you want.

The Mario Kart 8 deal is valid until July 31... unless you *really* need to play that free game as soon as possible or need the 10 points for early registration.

What e-mail did they complain to?

I really shouldn't do this but...

Going all digital means you'll get coins for EVERYTHING you purchase. I'm at 2k for this year and I'm nowhere near done. I don't expect 2015 to be hard either what with the loaded second half of this year and early next.

I'm intentionally holding off on stuff to make them squeeze into next CN year, so it's too bad we can't hoard digital purchase registrations for next CN year like can be done with physical. :(

I really don't see any problem with:

SSB x2
Bayonetta 2
X
MH4U

and many, many more games known and unknown coming out, plus all the VC and indies, Plus a bunch of intend to buys. Plus holiday sales getting me to buy stuff I skipped the first time around.

Maybe in 2016 if things really start to lag again for both systems I might run into a 2011 scenario where I just barely made it...but I doubt it.

noooooooo!

I had surveys worth 140 coins that expired this month. :( Procrastination screwed me again.

I reached platinum this year at least...

I was morbidly curious so I went to "To-Do" history and did a CTRL+F on the word expired.

94.

:(

I was going to add how many coins I missed out on but got angry after the first couple and stopped.

94? So that's at least 940 points, right? Damn. I'm kinda nervous to find out how many I've wasted.
