Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U Thread 8: Put mii in, coach

It does seem like Sakurai is buttering us up for some Chrom
& Lucina
goodness at E3. Maybe with Roy returning in the same trailer for good measure. (I'm half-serious -- Sakurai is a crowd-pleaser.)

I can already hear the music in this stage: FIIII-RUUU EMMM-BRRRUU! Faa, ra ra ra, raaa, raaa!

Secret best news here: GameXplain will surely have a discussion on the new stage, like they did for Mushroom Kingdom U. <3 GX

Pic of the day. Here's Ike, Marth and…a brand-new stage!

Hmm, don't seem to recognize this stage if it's from FE...

Looks great though!

EDIT: Ah, it's the Coliseum.

We've added a familiar setting from the Fire Emblem series, the Coliseum. In the original game, this place is filled with both hope and despair. There is machinery in the ground that activates variable platforms.

Interesting.

You're too fast for me Smash GAF.

I missed you, my love :-3

I saw you digging Triple Deluxe and wanted to sing its praises with you. That game is legit. Never really cared for other Kirby games, but Triple Deluxe is great.

<3

Triple Deluxe surprised the hell out of me. The presentation was SO GOOD OMG.

I missed you in the Project Beast threads. Needed the number one hype man for the hypest threads!

Ah...all is well...

First Pic: Ike looks mad that Marth said something passive aggressive.

Second Pic: He showed him (her) the back of his hand.

Machinery in the ground that raises platforms. That sounds pretty neat.

As this comes from OG FE, I choose to believe that this means Anna is in.

Don't take this from me.

He can't even fit on Palutena's temple, what are you talking about?

One thing that does suck is that this most likely means no stage on Grima's back, which would've been amazing

Grima fits on the 3DS that screen is too small, what are you talking about?!!

ok, I need some sleep,,, I miss grima

FEA and TW101 are two games I absolutely adored but stopped playing right at the end for no apparent reason. They're on the "to finish later" list.

I stopped playing FE:A because of work and I don't know whether I'll go back to playing it because MK8 is taking too much of my time. It's just too fun to stop playing.

RIDLEY doesn't fit on the arena

So, if Robin isgoing to be at E3 with a sword and magic combo, orchrom, this means newcomer fits my sword user.

Now I need Pac Man or Snake to be there too

Palutena's centurions vs Chrom's Shepherds in an epic battle for the E3 trailer.

BELIEVE!
Right before Palutena's Centurions collide with Chrom's Shepherds, time slows down and Shulk appears, wielding the Monado!

And then a shadow darkens the land and Chrom, Palutena and Shulk turn around to see Ridley! They put aside their petty squabble and team up against the dragon...

...but then Ridley stops his attack mid-air, his eyes wide. He turns around, and Pac-Man is nibbling on his tail.

And then Bayonetta and Cloud Strife hit the scene on the same motorcycle, with Master Chief parasailing behind them.

The trailer closes with Walter White and Jesse Pinkman revealed as a new Ice Climber-style character.

For those unfamiliar with Fire Emblem, the older games, including the two for GBA that were released outside of Japan, had maps featuring an arena where you could gamble with your characters' lives, sending them into an automated duel against a vaguely specified opponent. I don't recognize the new stage as being representative of a specific arena in the series, but here is the one from Fire Emblem 7 (the first one brought overseas) for comparison.

Color me skeptical, but if you really are talking with Masuda, tell him to make a goddamn dolphin Pokémon.

I was talking about Sakai-san. :) Never met Masuda-san, although I've always been tempted to participate in those meet-and-greet events they hold at Pokemon Centers every so often. Hopefully our paths will cross someday, though!

Would you have any clue if he's the main composer for SSB4 like he was for Melee, or if instead they're doing the same thing they did with Brawl's soundtrack?

Unfortunately, no. :( I did try to glean some information about the game, but he was pretty tight-lipped--understandable, given that he's working for Nintendo. My guess would be that it's going to end up closer to Brawl's soundtrack, but don't quote me on that.

:-D

I got banned for making a joke where I depicted Reggie as a fratboy who thinks girl-on-girl action is hot. One month. :-O

But I'm back now. Definitely excited about Project Beast -- but I still have to play Dark Souls 2! I've owned it since launch -- it's loaded on my PC and ready to go -- but I always drag my feet on these games, even though Dark Souls 1 is probably my current Game of the Generation (Wii/PS3/360 era).

Dat Project Beast, doe. Shotguns!

I think it's because the blast lines are super close to the edge of the screen, so you can just camp on the edge, grab someone, and toss them out for a quick KO at low damage.

Yeah hopefully the stage changes enough like Delfino Plaza that this isn't possible all the time. And no, a Final Destination version wouldn't be nice since I'd want the platforms. :P
