I feel like the most logical choice for a second Mother rep (if Lucas were to be cut) would be Pokey, since he's arguably the central character of the franchise. He only works if he has his machines though, and that'd make him too big.

Honestly, I don't care about Mother at all. Tried playing both games, and just found them boring. Any narrative excellence the series may have has been ruined for me because I always see people go on and on about how wonderful it is, its overexposure has completely drained my desire to play it. In that way, it is like TTGL for me, where the overabundance of memes and people shouting catchphrases from it put me off from it.
But I had fun using Lucas and liked him better than Ness, so I wouldn't want to see him cut.

What in the actual fuck. Wow. The Lucas hate is so incredibly stupid. Why would you get rid of a character who:
- Has completely unique A moves
- Has specials differentiated quite well from Ness
- Represents one of the best RPGs of all time
Oh and guys, Sakurai wanted to cut Ness in favor of Lucas in Melee, so I don't think he's gonna turn around and cut him. Also I don't know if you've noticed, but none of the characters who people have been thinking will be cut have been cut (Ivy and Squirtle we don't know 100% yet, and even then people weren't sure PT would lose two Pokemon).
