I didn't play GZ so this is the first I've heard the new Keifer Boss. Sounds like an every man. No unique, catchy, memorable trait. It could be any side character from any game ever. No overplaying, no underplaying, it's just a bland tone. Very bland.
Second, I dearly miss the MGS main theme (yes, I know the story behind it). And the music direction has been declining since 4 and partially PW. Hoping the in-game stealth BGM is instantly recognizable as a "Boom! Welcome back to Metal Gear, my friend!"
Third, seeing PS3 and 360 at end of trailer made me think "Eeew..." This game is releasing in 2048 so just cut the old hardware. It's clearly affecting the current gen quality. Cross-gen will be non-existent by the time TPP is released. Wish they'd flush it.
Lastly, I'll be buying this day one full price because any game with a flaming whale swallowing a helicopter out of the sky is gonna be fun and I love MGS boss fights. And complaints aside, I simply enjoy MGS more than most long running series.
My biggest fear is Kojima jumping the shark. (and I don't even mean nanomachines) For MGS, which is wacky already, jumping the shark would mean taking itself too seriously; Losing it's self-awareness and poking fun at itself.
These trailers, and intervies, indicate an extreme shift in tone away from that, and I hope its goofy side returns in the actual game. That shouldn't be lost.
