None of that stuff is disturbing when it comes to other stuff we've seen in video games or film before. Especially not vultures, blood soaked character, or battlefield full of dead bodies. We've seen all of that before in video games before. And the
knives being made out of ashe diamonds
is a theory and isn't confirmed.

I could've sworn Big Boss alludes to it (your spoiler tagged statement) this in the english trailer. Obviously, he can't come out and say it.

This trailer was glorious, too bad it got leaked, would of loved watching it along with the other big boys at the conferences. I for one liked the music and thought it fit the trailer.
And idk, I think i got used to Kiefer's voice, at the end when he says "We are Diamond Dogs", i personally thought it sounded great. Can't wait for this to drop in 1984.

Probably mentioned before but at one point towards the endif looks like Skull face and Big Boss are standing next to each other. Not as enemies. I wonder if he turns him to a bad guy somehow.

Kojima just posted this:

MGSV at MS???

It was said that is a mask and not skull face *shrugs* and big boss is a bad guy. He was a double agent of sort. He actually sent Snake in to manipulate him but was not prepared for how good Snake was.

He may just be there to watch but wouldn't be surprised if MS is showing the trailer now and we'll get the full gameplay preview at a separate stage event.

It makes sense for Kojima to go on the MS stage. He probably gets a nice paycheck out of it, and the vast majority of people buy his games on Sony platforms already. Possible chance to expand user base plus money = a solid decision.

EDIT: And as others have mentioned, we've seen him on more than one stage in the past.

I had to go back and watch that part, yeah, pretty weird scene. Especially as BB is in full gear (with what looks like an AR?) plus doesn't look detained in the slightest.

Okay, if that sale for MGSV:GZ tomorrow is also for Europe then I guess I'm going to buy that for my PS3.

Also I am totally hyped for TPP now, if just to see (trailer spoilers)
how Big Boss descends into madness/total genius.
And how the fuck did he get that shrapnell in his head? Wow.

I'm still bitter about Hayter getting replaced with Sutherland. He just doesn't sound grrowly enough. But whatever.

Lovely trailer as always, just not sure why Kojima thought this would be more shocking the than one from last E3

Or maybe there'll be another director's cut?

I don't like it. It hasn't got that MGS feel. Meh. I don't give a fuck what Snake wants to do with the ashes of his fallen men. Is this all supposed to make me feel emotional? I don't feel anything and Snake seems just as expressionless as he was in all other games.
And the whole idea of working with the person you should be getting revenge against (Skullface) does not feel like a satisfying revenge hunt. Furthermore, the fact that this has been revealed so early on ruins the mystery of the game.
As a long time MGS fan, I'm just not excited about this game.

I hope that with all these very dark and serious themes that Kojima still embraces the quirky side of the series. Part of the reason I adore MGS3 is because it was super serious and super fucking cheesy.

I don't want him to try too hard to force the "dark side" of things and overdo it just to make a point. Which I feel could happen

Maybe M. Nelson will post this as exclusive also. They need to give up on these stage tactics. The days of manipulating people are long over. We've come along way from 05.

Kojima gets a nice paycheck, Metal Gear gets more exposure, and then Kojima will turn right back around next week and shit on the Xbox as usual lol.

You're being completely misdirected. All according to keikaku

So... once again. Did people forget about the Metal Gear plans Ocelot acquired from Granin in mgs3? Many people in this thread forgot it seems, since the plans look similar to this gear.

I must have missed the part of the trailer where they go into explicit detail about how and why BB and Skullface are chilling with each other.

The last Kojima Station suggested there would 2 trailers. 1 for story and 1 for gameplay.

My guess is they are going to show one off at MS' conference and one at Sony's conference.

But you're still going to play it right?

hilarious lol

Those tactics actually seem to be more alive than ever. Without looking deeper into in it you could think that Destiny was just on PS4

Game looks like it's trying way too hard. Prob will have even more cutscenes than MGS4 and be 10 hours long total. I dunno, MGS4 ruined the series IMO.

I think if Kojima were to reveal something at MS he wouldn't be sitting so far away from the stage. Unless MS isn't planing to invite devs on the stage like they usually do.

This trailer is disturbing...

There's a shit load of blood. The vulture at the beginning is disturbing. Big Boss walking across a battlefield with dead bodies is messed up. Their knives being made out of ashes is very disturbing. The torture, drowning, and horn play a role in this. Blood soaked big boss is creepy. I could go on for at least another paragraph.

If you ignore many game trailers then yes it is very disturbing indeed.

You'd think he'd be backstage if he were to be going up there for the MS event. I'm hoping he'll be on Sony's stage since I'm going to the theater showing of it!

Kind of boring trailer to be honest.

Just Big Boss standing around sulking and looking at the camera. Nice song choice though.

I didn't play GZ so this is the first I've heard the new Keifer Boss. Sounds like an every man. No unique, catchy, memorable trait. It could be any side character from any game ever. No overplaying, no underplaying, it's just a bland tone. Very bland.

Second, I dearly miss the MGS main theme (yes, I know the story behind it). And the music direction has been declining since 4 and partially PW. Hoping the in-game stealth BGM is instantly recognizable as a "Boom! Welcome back to Metal Gear, my friend!"

Third, seeing PS3 and 360 at end of trailer made me think "Eeew..." This game is releasing in 2048 so just cut the old hardware. It's clearly affecting the current gen quality. Cross-gen will be non-existent by the time TPP is released. Wish they'd flush it.

Lastly, I'll be buying this day one full price because any game with a flaming whale swallowing a helicopter out of the sky is gonna be fun and I love MGS boss fights. And complaints aside, I simply enjoy MGS more than most long running series.

My biggest fear is Kojima jumping the shark. (and I don't even mean nanomachines) For MGS, which is wacky already, jumping the shark would mean taking itself too seriously; Losing it's self-awareness and poking fun at itself.

These trailers, and intervies, indicate an extreme shift in tone away from that, and I hope its goofy side returns in the actual game. That shouldn't be lost.
