E3 2014 | Nintendo Digital Event

I enjoyed this a lot, lot of games I will pick up down the road. Don't think it will change anything in a grand sense, but I liked what I saw.

man I thought the EA conference was underwhelming. Outside of the paint shooting game and mario level creator.........everything was a teaser shorter than the star wars and mass effect ones we got.

Overall a 7/10
+ Zelda concept was good
+ Amiibo is a neat idea
+ Plenty of eShop titles
+ Good pacing
- We knew all the games for the most part
- No huge 3DS news
- Star Fox tease was terrible. Shame on you Nintendo!

So in terms of a rundown. New info in bold.

Super Smash Bros
Yoshi's Woolly World - gameplay
Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker - announcement with gameplay trailer
Zelda - new trailer/footage
Pokemon Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire
Bayonetta 2 - gameplay trailer, and announcement of Bayonetta included
Xenoblade Chronicles X - trailer
Mario Maker - announcement with gameplay trailer
Splatoon - announcement with gameplay trailer

Anything missing?

Kirby.

Best conference easy. Nintendo seems to have the best line up for games actually coming out soon. That squid game looked pretty neat. And it's cool Bayonetta 1 is coming to the Wii U because I never played it.

really strong conference and a delightful presentation.

philosophically a wonderful little excursion from the boring vanity of the rest of e3. everyone else was trumping how games are the most incredible game changing experiences backed up by stupid cheers but rarely proving it, but at nintendo games exist as little bit of joy you get within the rest of your life, which is why they give interviews at aquariums and yarn stores. yet unlike ea they could show concrete games on top of developer interviews and discussions of ideas and what they showed looked really cool. you can compare battlefield hardline to that ink game as a microcosm of this.

Hmm, now that I think about it... nearly no 3DS games in this stream so far, right? Nintendo doing their own thing as usual.

Those Amibos look kinda-sorta nice.

Grinding Amibo NPC fighter levels sounds... possibly annoying.

Not nearly as bad as EA, but definitely the weakest of the 3. Too much tease and not enough shown from their big guns, Zelda and Star Fox (what was the point of even showing that?)

Kirby and the Rainbow Curse on the Wii U.

Ok event. Not really any Wii U saviours, and the lineup into the future is still anemic but that's expected. Really seemed like most new announcements were very safe. Underwhelming but Zelda did look delicious.

I don't understand
if you are into that kind of stuff they had pretty much everything
if not then why the hell did you wake up early?

Everything?

A lolastic online shooter and Zelda is everything? A rom hack editor? Another 15 minutes wasted on Smash Bros?

Underwhelming to say at least. The best thing was again Bayonetta 2.

I really wanted Nintendo to have something like Sunset Overdrive. Splatoon looks pretty cool, can't wait to hear more of it.

The amiibos look... well, they're stuff, but they're not really the Skylanders people are looking for. Not actually interested in those.

Waoh, Mario Party 10... ?
