Guys, i don't know if i am the only one in this case but i think that this game will not be only my game of the gen but also the game of my life !! :p

WHY do you have to play more aggressive in this game? Because you get "overwhelmed"?

He says it's because combat encounters are designed such that if you are defensive, it just gets worse for you because more enemies will creep up from the corners and the shadows from around you. Sounds like progressing is a matter of killing enemies before you're outnumbered, so you can't just keep blocking. Players who don't use a shield in Souls would probably feel right at home. #YOLO

Guns as a short-range crowd control weapon. Transformable melee weapons that can go from shield-breaking to damage-dealing. Sounds like the same old great deliberation and tactical play we liked from Souls mixed in with more of an emphasis on mobility and active offense.

The dream, basically. All of you Havel turtles will rue the day you decided to focus on that particular strategy. :P

Being a Miyazaki game, I can just tell this game is going to be amazing with the Live from PlayStation service.
It's amazing how much enjoyment I get out of watching people's blind Demon's/Dark Souls runs.

This will probably the first game I live-stream.

.....I just completely forgot about this feature.

Fuck that. I'll just stand in a corner and wait for my opportunity to strike while holding up my massive 100% physical reduction shield!

I am a heavy shield+spear type of player. :(

Suppose I have to change my playstyle. Oh well... can't fucking wait for this game!!!!

My preferred play-style in the Souls games was and is aggressive, no-shield play, so this is pretty much music to my ears.

Yup, 2handing weapons all day every day.
 
So I know this is probably a placeholder but on the PS store it shows up as 3/31/2015 with a preload date of 3/26/2015, so is that the latest we should expect the game? Nothing else without a hard street date shows anything but "Pre-Load Supported" and a general timeframe of release like "August 2014" or "coming soon"

This is not a knock against the game, this game looks astounding to me (from the leaked game play footage and these impressions) but a DMC game this is not.

For it to be a DMC game it needs the following which are iconic to that franchise:

*Juggle based combat with focus on aerial combat
*High mobility, fast paced combat
*No blocking whatsoever, you only have a parry and that's it
*Prioritization of style over efficiency
*No lag time in moves, free canceling, no stamina bar etc (the complete opposite of the Soul games)

I guess people see guns + melee and "aggressive" combat then automatically assume it's a DMC style game.

Densely-layered, complex environment? Oh yes. Yes. Oh yes.

I'm now going to purchase a PS4 to play this game in the Spring.

I agree. Next year is nuts. And I'm still trying to process this falls lineup. I thought I wanted little but it's all changed.

One other thing I like is it's got a lot of souls aspects but they're not just making demon souls 2. It looks like it's got its own unique style and approach.
 
Bloodborne is Dark Souls meets Resident Evil 4

In a lot of ways, Bloodborn reminded me of Resident Evil 4 crossed with Miyazaki's famed hits. Yhaarnam's inhabitants - and their behaviour - have a similar vibe to Resi 4's Ganados: their attire is formal, they have a penchant for wielding torches, and their ranks are closed. Rage is all-encompassing, and they love jumping out and ambushing players.The general look of the game has hints of Mikami's masterpiece, and that is no bad thing. There's even an ogre to fight.

Not everyone you meet is hostile, however. NPCs can be helped, which may come back to help you in the long run.

So far, so good. Bloodborne has the heart of classics past and an interesting new setting, as well as the different yet familiar aesthetic it brings. It's early days, but this is one to keep an eye on.

Sounds really good so far. Interested in the blood / beast mechanic that someone mentioned earlier.
 
Never played a souls game. This seems more my speed especially if it is more action based and less role strike role around your opponent than what I've seen from the souls games. I'm intrigued.

I doubt anyone would make it past the first enemy encounter if they played this like DMC. I agree, I'm not sure where the DMC comments came from. From everything I've heard, they're nothing alike.

I was just fooled by the Metroid Prime shit in the other thread...

My heart... couldn't handle Metroid Prime + this game so I fell of my chair and hurt my elbow ._. it hurts a lot
