Maybe if it a Unity game or something like that. Other than that, no, porting from PS3 to Vita is not easy. It's very difficult.

But not PS4? I'm just regurgitating info from devs on Twitter. Think even at 8-4 they said it would be easy
/easier
.

Well I don't know, haven't touched any of them.

I wonder when the release date is.

No Vita? Well, that is disappointing. Personally, I hate exclusives so I wouldn't have minded if it came out on the PS4 and Xbox One. I had just decided to stick with the 3ds, vita, and pc until I clear some of my huge backlogs for those systems. However, I would have made room for Type-0, but I'm not interested in buying a new system at the moment.

Halo: Master Chef Edition and an old updated port of a PSP exclusive on the same console.

Things are getting weird.

The fact that it's on PS4/Xboxone and the very nature of the gamedesign (small spaces) could mean they are gonna make it a very gorgeous game. I wonder if they'd put Tri-Ace on it. It will end up looking beyond anything the Vita could do. Isn't that worth something?

Guys who played the Japanese version... how's the game story wise \ music wise \ world wise \ gameplay wise \ characters wise ?

Story: Not bad, did have some lulls
Music: Great, loved it
World: Big and diverse
Gameplay: Battles were fun, Command missions? (not sure what to call it in English), annoying
Characters: If you like anime set in school, you'll like this.

Congrats PS4/Xbone owners, not a bad first JRPG for the platforms.

You're getting this in your language because some fanbase asked for it so yes for the people that Square heard out the point was to play it on their platform.

As someone who owns a Vita but neither XB1 and PS4 I have to say this attitude is toxic. First and foremost the game should be at the center of anyone's attention. Propriatary hardware is such a bad cause to rally behind since it's just another form of DRM. Yes VITA would've been nice but realistically it would have hurt the game, not in the eyes of the players but in the eyes of the company that puts out this and future projects.
I want this game and I want the company to have an incentive to put out the next game that falls in the same category out in the west. This is the best shot Type-0 and the next game like Type-0 has to be released in the west.
I love the VITA, it's the perfect gaming handheld. But the world doesn't love it and if I can chose between the potential success of a game I love and the success of a piece of silicon I'll always take the former. The latter only satisfies my ego and list wars.

It may just be an up ported psp game so don't expect too much from the game. Kagari said to not expect optimization.

I'm guessing a long time away for the PS4/Xbox One game but soon-ish for the iOS/And game.

Doesn't matter - I'm in for both.

That's good, actually heard good things about the smartphone version. So far they haven't tried to nickel and dime you and it's apparently possible to play it without spending cash.

Then again many hates it because its f2p but never added any substantial to the critic other than missing good input and its on auto(hence the lack of dedicated input controls).

Im a huge Vita fan and i can't believe people are upset about this, are there big Final Fantasy fans that have no intention of buying a PS4? or is it the fact that you can't play it on the go?

A Vita version would be nice but im not going to complain, 3 hours ago i thought i would never play this game and now im going to play it in HD with trophies.

It should be $59 though. Anything else doesn't make sense.

Why wouldn't anything else make sense? They just released X and X-2 Remasters for a grand total of $40 in March

You must have missed the part where we thought it was going to be on PS4, Xbone, and Vita initially

If people want to miss out on games because they are F2P or have stamina systems that's fine, it's not for everyone but from what I read I'm getting something at least on par or better than P&D/Brave Frontier and I realy enjoy those games so I'm actually genuinely excited for both games!

An unreleased game in the west that not only requires full localization but also making it a HD remaster. Just look at it like a new game, which ... it basically is for us.

Was initially very ecstatic when I saw the thread back when it was only announced for PS Vita, but in light of the changes that the announcement has undergone, I can't say I'm that disappointed. The problem is that I don't have a PS4 yet. 2015 is looking to be an absolutely killer year for games, so I am hoping to be able to pick one up by the end of this year.

I'm sure that the game will look stunning due to it getting basically a full graphical remake.

I definitely have to say that the worst part about this news to me is that this foreshadows that if a FFXII HD happens then it wont be on the Vita. That would REALLY hurt me... so many hours of content and I've been dying to play it on the go since the first time I've played it.

Why are people shitting on Square for not releasing games on Vita. Not even Sony themselves give a fuck about Vita, so why should Square. I don't see no big upcoming first party Vita game like inFamous, Gran Turismo or God of War. Save for Gravity Rush 2 all I see is ports and Indie games. People need to accept Vita is a Indie machine and move on. This is coming from a huge Vita supporter back when it first released.

You will buy to play Final Fantasy XV though, can we please move on? :/
Maybe he doesn't care about the mainline games or at least not that one?

Though yeah if you were a long time FF fan and tend to check out each game it's kind of crazy to not get a PS4/XB1 (though I kind of suspect most fans are on or will be on PS4 given that the 360's disruption last gen basically evaporated, but that's beside the point.)

Taken from old thread:

I enjoyed it well enough, your typical Action RPG with a mission based structure fit for portables, I dug the game's difficulty (so good) but the AI can be shit at times. Can't really comment on the plot though since I don't understand a lick of Japanese. People are typically 50/50 on the large cast from what I've read, like I said I don't know Japanese so I won't comment too much but I doubt it suffers from the Chrono Cross issue. Overall, I don't praise it as highly as GAF does but that doesn't take away from its quality; if you have enjoyed any of Tabata's output (specifically Crisis Core) then you'll likely enjoy this.

Yeah I'll also throw in a solid OST.

If this really sells for $60 and doesn't come out until 2015 I don't expect it to sell well. When it doesn't SE will be all confused why the masses didn't buy the game they requested.
