This game is really fantastic. Playing free roam and just getting into trouble, searching for loot, and exploring the wilderness is fantastic.

Can't wait to explore other worlds.

Has Bungie said if Earth is comprised entirely of the Old Russia map, or if there will be multiple maps per world?

I'm pretty sure Old Chicago is also supposed to be in it, although I'm not sure if there are any other Earth locations.

Edit: Yup, definitely Chicago.

Peter Dinklage is absolutely doing his Tyrion voice. It's hard to not notice. There's an element of deadpan to it but it doesn't sound robotic enough to be an early AI. At the same time it doesn't sound lively enough for it to be an advanced AI (like Cortana). They need to digitize his voice or something. That line where he said 'that wizard came from the moon' nearly killed me. So bad lol

The writing could get a lot more leeway if it sounded more like a robot rather than a stream of consciousness. Right now he really does come across as a person... reading shitty lines

I'm not sure if it's another map or just a story mission. But we will be going to Chicago.

One thing they could adjust is the rate at witch Public Event spawn, from what I played they seem kinda rare. Wanted to complete the bounty to gold tier one and it just wasn't spawning while I was driving around.

There's some info around about Chicago, a Mumbai area and some European dead zone. Some of that is outdated though, who knows if those areas are still in...

I've only played about 5 hours (titan & hunter) and feel like this game has really clicked for me. I was kind of interested before because of Bungies pedigree and the art direction which I liked but now I'm there day 1.

+ Sense of exploring & adventure.
+ Really enjoying engaging groups of enemies. Scout rifle from a medium distance, switch to shotgun run in and melee the left overs. Encounters are fun.
+ Gunplay feels good. All weapons feel and handle differently, for instance the kick back on the shot gun makes it feel like a beast. I can see why some might not like this but I like how it forces you to compensate for that kickback.
+ The graphics are more than good enough for me and really like how much shadow and light play there is in interior areas. Adds a sense of atmosphere.
+ After not enjoying shooters with the ds3 the ds4 feels solid. The controls feel slick and does exactly what I want, nothing like super charging into a group of enemies then picking one stray off with a head shot.
+ The alpha feels very solid in the areas I've played, no crazy frame drops or technical issues.
+ Unlike borderlands loot isn't dropping out of enemies every few seconds so when something does drop it's more exciting.
+ The design of the UI is fantastic and so well thought out.

- Dinklage's delivery is a little off in a way, I get what they are going for but maybe giving him a bit of subtle post processing might help. To make it feel just a bit off from being human.

Haven't tried any PvP just yet. This alpha has done more to make me interested than any of the promo videos and advertising. Awhile the hard-line beta has made me feel that I definitely won't be buying it this has got me excited.

I am enjoying the hell out of this Alpha its making me crave more for the Beta and Final product. Bungie has done a phenomenal job with it. Its gorgeous, incredibly detailed, and super fun and addicting. Its Halo, Borderlands 2, SWTOR,maybe a few others as well. But Bungie took the best elements from all these games and made Destiny.
The classes all seem fun and pretty well balanced.
The Warlock class is probablly my favorite ( siren from Borderlands 2)
The Hunter is fun as well no comparisons from a specific game but its comprable to most other games.
Titan = master chief class.
I cant wait to experience more with this awesome game. I think it will be GOTY for me especially since everything is 2015 now.
I have bothe the Xbox One and PS4 getting both versions because Ive got friends on both. Heres hoping we can transfer character to both versions wishful thinking I know

The game is high-quality in many ways, but the quick enemy respawns and the bullet sponge bosses make for a rather repetitive experience.

One thing I certainly wouldn't mind is the ability to see the level of items that you can use... It's so strange that, even in the details screen, there's no level. So you can't even think "Well, instead of trashing this, since it's level 5 I'll throw it in the vault for another character". You have to actually throw it in the vault and view it from a character of a lower level than the item to see the level. Would also be nice since it would allow you to see "Okay, so this is on the lower end of level 8" rather than just thinking "Well this is worse than what I have, wonder if it's low level"

completed the strike in 24 minutes. I don't know how people are taking 90 minutes. They are doing it wrong or are under geared. I would have bet they are under geared.

That being said, I am Not sure what I think of the PvP yet. Its immediately obvious that my 61 attack power auto rifle is not killing as quickly as some of the opponent weapons. Pulse rifle seems to suck.I have no idea how effective or not effective armor is. Someone had something call the Nova bomb and he was killing everybody. Normally in an MMO I like gear affecting PvP. I don't know what to think here yet.

All PvE weapon are normalized in pvp. Every pulse rifle is doing the same damage, etc.

Nova Bomb is a Warlock Super.

Forgot to mention, I feel like the Hunter golden gun special ability is super underwhelming compared to the other two. I don't know if it upgrades but it's just 3 shots, which while pretty good against normal enemies, are hardly worth the time using on the bosses. It's just not fun to use.

Is it possible to get a Level 8 blue? Or am I wasting my money with this crypto guy fishing for one?

I've only seen 10+ and up. :(

I have enough LVL 11 Blue's to last 6 characters.

Welp, real life calls and takes me away from Destiny.

Still, the 8 or so hours I put into it has been great. I've never been a big fan of loot-hunting, but damn if it isn't addictive. The game definitely gives you a great sense of exploration, and although it's content-light in exploration phases, it doesn't make it boring because you're constantly engaged.

The Strike mission is fun. A little bit of struggle to find the footing at first because of how it's a leap in difficulty over the exploration phases, but once the team gets in the groove, the focus of beating those bullet sponges feel great and how it constantly forces you and your team to always move around effectively.

The only one I'm not feeling it is PvP thus far, but that's mainly because I haven't landed on what I think is a best composition/style for my Titan.

And The Tower... it's disappointing how small the hub is. Probably not this time, but I sincerely hope Destiny 2 gives us a full-to-life city with tons of NPC.

then I guess I am just not a fan of the pulse rifle. Do you have a link where Bungie talked about PvE weapons in pvp?

Just switch for the same weapon type, the damage stays the same. I don't have a Bungie quote on hand. The level doesn't matter as well. (a level 5 player will be able to damage for exemple a lvl 15 without penalty damage). Of course the level 15 might have a more developed specialization (more than one grenade type etc)

For what it's worth it seems like one area is closed off in the alpha. Can't reach the events portion on the map.

Just got my PS4 and I am streaming some of the alpha at pretty high quality.
Are a lot of you doing this? Crazy!

Just went from 4-8 in one sitting (in between hockey intermissions as well) and all I can say is thank goodness level 8 is the cap or I'll be playing all night. SO GOOD.

So is there anything to do in the Tower? I went there briefly and saw that I could buy stuff, but I couldn't tell if there's anything else I was supposed to do. I noticed a green waypoint marker that seems to want me to go somewhere, but I don't immediately see how to get there. It looks blocked off or something. The green waypoint also appears above the little Tower image when choosing where to launch.

Well, I played some earlier, and more now! Just played as Warlock and
killed that wizard
at the 1st dungeon! The game is great! I will probably pre-order it!

So can you not voice chat with people outside of your Fireteam? How about strangers at The Tower? There's no way to interact with people at all?

Had a pretty great time with it last night before comcast took a shit in my bed and went down for the rest of my night around 2:00.

BUT - before the deadly disconnect i was all over Old Russia and really getting into my hunter. Hand cannon/sniper rifle combo for max damage. Mobbing around just looking for fights in the free roam area I come across another hunter (auto rifle and scout rifle combo) who was doing the same basic thing as me.. exploring and killin... and we ended up wordlessly becoming fast friends. Dancing pointing and waving was had. So many times I would just naturally flank around a fight he started and ending up in perfect position to wipe the last 3 or 4 enemies he was fighting off the map with dat revolver. Mobbin together on the hover cycle things was a crazy good time for no good reason. Stumbling across public events the next morning was especially interesting. I was much deeper into Old Russia and actually found one of those mission markers and took it (Had to scan an ancient fuel source or some such nonsense) and ended up running across a big group of 7 and 8 guys at level 5. We come through the opening as i'm just kind of tagging along piggy backing off their damage to run through the mission quickly and bam... there it is ... yellow Optional Mission thing pops along the top of the screen and all 5 of us (4 people in a group i think and me and one other random) all decide together... again without words... that yep- we gonna stomp this little instanced encounter out the fucking yard.

Surprising amount of genuine fun out of this where I was expecting to "Meh, pretty Halo" my way through the beginning at least.

Really REALLY hoping that some areas end up with much larger player counts than i've seen in this alpha (like 50 or 60+?) but what i've seen so far is good times. Already seeing weapons and armor that is above the lvl 8 cap so i got that thirst pretty bad for the whole game. I didn't expect a "Serious" always online borderlands to draw me in this much after essentially one night of play. definitely getting into it again this evening. good times.

hey guys, a question, is it possible to look at a map (not talking about the map npcs at the tower)?

and i'm still looking for european people: eagel

This game needs a evade, or roll button badly, melee weapons would've been cool too, some of the enemies wields swords, a quicker way to summon the ghost would be nice too, tired of pressing the touch pad.
